  1. Hi Guy i have posted same question before why not just buy used red one or Red One Mysterium . Ok here is my argument i have abut 4 to 5k maybe 6k to spend on new camera i been looking on ebay and found Red One Mysterium-X for 6500k or best offer and it comes pretty much ready to shoot. I know it can be big and heavy but but what you get is one amazing camera. My other option was canon mk3 or black magic 4k but all those will run me here in Canada abut 4000 with tax give or take few dollars and then of course extra crap battery storage media cards after everything it would be 4500 to 5 k this cam can shoot 4.5k all the way down to HD with 13+ stops DYNAMIC RANGE AUDIO 4 channel, uncompressed, 24 bit, 48KHz. and SENSOR 14 MEGAPIXEL MYSTERIUM just to name few options if i get a camera like this i mean it wont get old and its not plagued with problems like Black magic and their delays on upgrades and fixing problems or is a hack like Magic Lantern. And just to make some money i can rent it out for like 500 a day PS camera can be bulky with all the extra staff but going bare bone i think its really manageable for the images that you get in the end What your thought guys i am seriously ready to push a buy button in month or 2 Here is the link to the red one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Red-One-Mysterium-X-digital-cinema-camera-/181672085291?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item2a4c80072b

  4. I thought 7d can do raw with ML.Would you say that 7d is better then 60d for raw with magic lantern Thanks
  5. what is the max resolution that 7d can shoot when shooting raw. And with kowa is that 2x stretch to me looks 1.5 in the video how did you achieve that with kowa Thanks
  6. import charges will still be there if shipping is free you need to do it private sale
  7. Found this guy selling some anamorphic for EUR 115,500.00 Approximately US $131,028.98 i can actually buy a house for this money. And his description of the lens is like something out of robocop film http://www.ebay.com/itm/SINGLE-focus-anamorphic-lens-anamorphot-iscorama-kowa-8z-iscomorphot-cinemascope-/111594706367?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_146&hash=item19fb9015bf

  10. to quote policar -Fwiw, 709 and sRGB have about the same chromaticities and i have rec 709 option so i just do it hopping its some what accurate HP dream color is nice but even that monitor you need additional hardware to get full use of dramcolor engine to get 10 bit and rec 709 working and if you are on OSX you are out of luck since osx does not output 10 bit unless more money is spend for additional hardware . the only way of calibrating these (cheaper) screens is to use a large calibration 3D LUT (cLUT) First option is to get external LUT box (for 1080p signal the eeColor is fantastic - there is no 4K LUT box yet) - lots of peeps use the eeColor with the HP DC since it's 1080p only if u want to calibrate a 4K screen or don't want to spend money on an external LUT box, then you could use a 3D cLUT within Resolve that then outputs a specific color corrected signal from Resolve to your screen, best solution for this appraoch is Lightspace for Resolve Light or Lighspace for Resolve Full this is would give u the best color performance u can get from these screens, obviously that will not cure screen uniformity issues, LCD backlight contamination, viewing angle etc... that is what it is with cheaper hardware of course an alternative to all of this is to buy a screen that has internal 3D LUT storage capabilities such as Eizo, FSI, TVLogic etc. So basicly what i am saying is MORE MONEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
  11. There is no cheap solution not even 2000 dollar solution i been researching this to death for few months only way without pro monitor is to use Light Space CMS integration with Resolve this will get you relllyyyyyy close but software alone is 1500 then you need a probe another 200 to 500 and a nicer monitor with 10 billions + color and eternal monitor lut not video card one. Or you can spend 1500 to 2000 getting one of plasma tV that was used as client monitor in a studio, but as i said again even after 4 years they can still be 1000 to 2000 dollars since its really accurate color but even then you will need to out put the signal another 200 to 1000 for kona card our black magic mini card. What i did was get dell u2410 monitor with xrite pro probe and dispalGUI calibrate to REC 709 do i get close not really but close enough for me. But again there no cheap solutions because technology is to expensive to be cheap
  12. For some time i wanted to get in to VFX industry but been fallowing for few months how vfx industry is crumbling down where 350 employees at Dreamworks Animation were recently recently laid-off and the creature effects powerhouse, Rhythm & Hues just filed for bankruptcy and let’s not forget that Digital Domain’s brand new feature animation studio in Florida was shut down this past September – before they could even release a film. VFX artist have given them self new name digital gypsy since they have to chase the jobs all over the world. What will Weta digital do after the the hobbits will same happen to them and incentive that governments gives to studios will soon run out for VFX industry in Canada Vancouver the those studios will just pack bags and move on for better incentive but then what happens to workers? they have to pack and move but then the issue of visa to move to another country can take 3 to 6 months, and lets not talk about artists not being paid on time or for over time While big studios make big bucks on those films like iron man hobbits artist who actually make those films possible suffer and are abused peter jackson him self has changes law of new Zealand for workers not to be able to form unions. i guess artists have to bend down and take it and not complain for the fear of being black listen like. Sorry for bag grammar
