so 4 k is pointless unless you are shooting Hollywood blockbuster. So there is not much difference between 1080 and 2.5k? because i am thinking of BMCC 2.5k or 5d mk3

Hi guys i am finally replacing my 60d. I was thinking 5dm3 but i will be purchasing balck magic camera 2.4 or 4k one my question is as a hobbyist should i spend more money on 4k or just get 2.5k and invest rest of the money in some lenses and ssd.   But my other question is MFT or EF mount what would you guys pick i i have some old Nikon lenses but is it worth it or go with ef   Thanks guys

January comes i am getting black magic 2.5k camera was thinking about 5dm3 but being a hack and bmc being actual camera that shoots 2.5k and pro res 422 flat and the image quality is super awesome you cont go wrong with the price. what is it 3k plus tax here in Canada for canon and bmc is 1899 last time i checked

do what i did get step down ring and use hot glue from amazon its industrial strength super glue will bond metal to metal with no problems but be warned once it is on it stays on. and then you can screw your diopter that what i did for my big ass lens 95mm ring for 86mm diopters. oh and it was all like 10 dollars

Hi guys i am in the process of purchasing 5d mark 3 or black magic camera 2.4k one still debating ND SEARCHING . My question is can my mac handle 2.4 raw editing I use FCP7 AF and Premiere for editing and a bit of resolve for CC for now my mac can handle 1080p with no prob but i was thinking what about 2.4k raw. My spec are   2009 mac pro 12gb ram quad core 2.66 xeon GTX 550TI and Radeon 5770 all PC crads One gree HD for main OSX and one 1 TB black HD for video   I was thinking to spend baout 3k on new cam but if i go with Black magic instead of 5d mark 3 i can save some money and invest in to comp hardware to handle 2.5 k or is it my wishful thinking what would you recomend?     Thanks guys for help

Hi guy i am looking to get  Variable Neutral Density Filter 86mm i seen someone bat foir 30 but they are crap any idea of good ones i found one by Light Craft Workshop fader nd mark 2, but i don't know how good is light craft, what about sticking smaller filter in between taking lens and anamorphic. I am trying to get those clouds to stand out.   And i got 200 to spend   Thanks

Paulio so would you recommend RGB over REC 709 for web delivery. And what is you brightens for your monitor set to i find dell pro monitors to be way to bright even at 50% My is down to 30%.   Thanks sorry to hijack the post   anax276 i got U2410 for 400 and it is awesome monitor i am not big in to 27 size i have second Lg 24 and it works good just calibrate the monitor with i1 display pro it makes all the difference. Ans u2410 comes calibrated out of the box but over time that will shift.   Thanks guys

When it comes to 50d and raw for how long can you shoot for? and at what resolution what would be the difference between mar 3 and 50d raw i am thinking of buying 1 or the other

Hi guys enny here just got me some of close up diopters from a fellow on this forum nice guy. I shoot some test and some CC in post can you tell me what you think close up are at the end. And don't mind the cheesy epic music. And security guard at the construction site ask me what i am doing, i told him i work for the city testing for radiation with my big ass lens and he actually believed me and left me alone to walk around. Hi guys   is it possible or recommended to cut like 3 inches of the back of the lens where there is more space for taking lens to fit i remember seeing somewhere on the web where some guy did this and he was able to fit 35 mm lens with no vignetting.   Any thoughts   Thanks

I have also bought/sold few items from members here and never head no problems as long as you are honest and not screw people over like that lens ebay guy. BAUSCH & LOMB is good lens with good quality if you don't mind the weight and size and its cheap

As people say here get you money back and if you want a big lens here is one same as my. Will it work sure it will but since mk2 is full frame you will get vignetting and i believe lens you bought might not be Iscorama i just read some where here on forum that this lens is not Iscorama. 499 uh oh i think this lens is same as my bausch and lomb anamorphic in weight and size. I wanted to get one you have at be begging but went with bausch and lomb for 50 dollars and quality is super awesome. But you know what if you like it like i like my that what matters. And best way to find out if ti will work just experiment when you get it.            

same here i used industrial super glue called hot staff and gluse 86mm ring and it works like a charm i have 86mm nd filter on it

for 1700 each i will stick with my 50 dollars lens ad with 1700 goon a vacation

Hi guys here is my DIY rig that cost me 100 with bausch and lomb anamorphic lens and cage except 60d and helios 44-2. It looks crude but it works awesome. In front of the lens i have used industrial super glues to glue 95-86 step down ring i have some close up filters 86mm coming. I can hold it with one hand and focus with another it is heavy bit but working since i work in construction and eat my spinach its nothing to me :)   Some screen grabs below taken with the rig no color correction used technicolor cine style profile for 60d so not much color only at the end with mowing train  and it was morning fog. I think the lens is sharp i really like it.
