Hi guys what is your opinion on monitor calibration? I have i1Pro X-Rite celebration and dell u2410. Xrite can calibrate to REC 709 for video is there any use to calibrate to REC 709 for video editing for web or just use SRGB. They claim that xrite will get you monitor calibrated for color correction for video how close does it get to CC?. Is there even point to use this tool for video or can you use it for pro work for video   Thanks

I come across article that say that old lenses from 50s to 80s can be radioactive. Got me wondering if our anaorphic lenses are in the same boat since most of them are old i think my was build in 70 bausch and lomb. Radioation is in the glass of the lens  (In case you didn’t know, some camera manufactures from decades ago chose to use the radioactive elements lanthanum and thorium in their camera lenses (and sometimes viewfinders) in order to increase the glass’ index of refraction.)   I was wondering if we will turn in to hulk after using it for long time But they say that there is relly no danger (This puts the “6hrs/day for a month” usage at about the same as getting a chest X-ray [...] Or to put it another way, using the lens six hours a day for a year would be the same as taking three round-trip flights from one US coast to the other in that year. Not completely trivial, but not something people normally stress about. Hi guys enny here question looking to purchase a lens that can single focus not dual focusing on both lenses any ideas on 500 price range or am i wishing

I tried couple of anamorphic lenses last one was sankot 16c and i was not happy with the quality at all and i could only use 65mm or 70mm and up and up with no vignetting. I come across  Baush & lomb big lens got it on dslr cage and it works awesome and the quality is Fing sharp i will be soon getting some close up filters 86mm from  a fellow here  that i will attache to 95-86 step down ring.   Is it hard to hard to handle big lens? yes and no, depends if you are serious about your craft. Me personally i don't care i am going for the quality of the image and just today i was shooting outside and people wore like what is that? Me personally i don't want to be spending over 1000-2000 dollars on soothing that i wont make me money   And with my lens i been using hellios44-2 and canon 50mm 1.4 lens with no vignetting its pain to handle some time but its worth it

lol my fault for leaving it at the edge of the table its not broken much its just that he was trying to repolish the lens glass on the tile and how the hell did he get to the glass part since its inside beats me.   Oh well its only metal and glass

There are few options for projection lens most of them are big and heavy i have one it is 5 lbs that  paid 100 but using it is not practical at all, it is to big and you would need some support for it.   Anamorphic shooters guide which i have tells you to stay away from those big lenses what i did in my case is to and what guide recommends is smaller projection lens like kowa or sankor 16c EOSHD Rating for sankor is - 7/10. But better quality lens you find on ebay are wayyyyy overpriced.   I have sankor 16C lens it is small there is even smaller like bolex anamorphic but they are like over 1000 but sankor 16c is just fine it can be supported by your Camera body   If you are interested I have Sankor 16c for sale with 52mm clamp and hellios 44-2 lens i am asking 350 plus shipping i believe it is good deal since sankor alone on ebay runs for 500 then you weould need clamp another 50 to 60 dollars and hellios is about  30 to 50 dollars. Selling one SANKOR ANAMORPHIC 16C Lens. The lens is in great condition. The body has some light surface scratches, nothing major. The lenses (glass) itself have no scratches, no haze, no fungus. Very clear. Same with Hellio   Asking 300

So top get this clear before i do anything when the elements are closer together, i will be able to focus closer now with my lens i can focus about 10 to 12 ft which sucks. when this modification is done can you still focus to infinity? Thanks

So cutting it up will make it focus closer? how close that vimeo claims  30cm close. It sounds promising but i wqas thinking of buying some close up diopters.   tferradans you don't sound like you agree with cutting?

Hi guy i sold my lens on ebay but pay pal is holding my money for 21 days or until item is shipped by the buyer and he has to leave positive feedback in order for pay pal to release the money. But i ma skeptical to send anything until have the money in my bank account in my hands. I been reading horror stories where pay pal will hold money after 21 day for up to 6 months. I mean buyer does not have to leave feed back at all or he can simply say that item was not received and request his money back.   I know that pay pal does this to collect interest on our money for 21 days in my view that is a scam they are collecting interest on my money and not me.   Would you know an alternative to pay pal?   Thanks
