  1. It was my understanding that Veydra was designing a lens, not an adapter, and the reason they abandoned the project was because it would have cost too much (over $5,000) if they were to maintain the same quality control they had over their mini primes.
  2. I’ve got a feeling that comment’s gonna get a lot of responses. ?
  3. Camera, photographer and model get soaked.
  4. Mystery Box are paid representatives of Panasonic. That isn’t to say they’re not free to report the facts as they see them, but it’s important to keep that in mind.Usable dynamic range, just like the highest ISO you can tolerate, is somewhat subjective.
  5. That’s how I watch @PannySVHS‘s videos!
  6. Panasonic said that in speaking with filmmakers, they learned that IBIS was creating problems when the camera was mounted on moving vehicles. So you’re telling me that Panasonic didn’t make a decision not to include IBIS? Sorry, my brain’s not working today or something. That video didn’t need IBIS because they’ve got the camera mounted to a $15,000 gimbal and a $100,000 golf cart - but having IBIS would not in any way have interfered with their workflow. @seku The difference being that MB gets to actually work with those fourteen stops of DR, whereas us mere mortals must be content with seven or whatever.
  7. Are you kidding? I already pre-ordered two of them, and a MOVI.
  8. In fact, I’ve hardly used IBIS at all since shooting models, except when wearing the easyrig. Most of my recent stuff has been on a tripod or slider. Oh, and the BTS shots in my last video shot by my assistant with the G85.
  9. It’s turning into IBISgate. Hardly a single iPhonedo viewer bought the rep’s lame excuse, not even the fellow sitting next to him. ?
  10. Even Luke Neumann, in an interview one year ago with no film school, said about the GH5: Stabilization on the sensor is one of those features that, once you use it, you won't want to go back. And when asked what aspect of the GH5 low-budget filmmakers would love most, he said: IBIS. I honestly wasn't that excited about it because I had never used it before. Now? I don't want to go back to a camera that doesn't have it. Sometimes we just left our tripod in the car and that is a decision I would love to make more often. Source
  11. @PannySVHS Watching it now, I'm not too thrilled with the color. May I ask why you watched it in 480p? And why did you watch Robin's video without sound? Is everything okay?
  12. @DBounce Like you, I believe it was technically impossible to put IBIS into the GH5s without altering the body; and I don't buy Panasonic's excuse that they removed IBIS to satisfy the .0001% of filmmakers that object to it.
  13. I couldn't have shot this video, or dozens of others like it, without IBIS.
  14. (1) I have no control over lighting (2) I need a high sensitivity sensor (3) I can live without IBIS (4) therefore, I must buy the GH5s!
  15. Not overly fond of bright night scenes that are more intense than direct sunlight. Maybe in small doses? I use lights - in fact, I love having control over lighting - so high sensitivity isn't a big deal to me.
  16. Could you please post links both to the denial by Panasonic at NAB (preferably with time stamp) and the findings of Chip Works that refute their claims? If Panasonic were to designate specs for a sensor, but have Sony manufacture it, would that still mean Panasonic was lying when they said they developed the sensor? Because developing is one thing, producing another. Just because the sensor didn't roll off a Panasonic assembly line doesn't necessarily mean they are wrong. Just sayin'...
  17. I sincerely hope the following 100 pages of this thread will be 400% enlargements, comparisons with Sony’s a7**, more resolution charts, and uploads of videos shot in pitch darkness.
  18. That ‘s an expression of uncertainty, not an affirmation, E.
  19. @Cliff Totten So we’re sure this is a Sony sensor now then?
  20. One stop more sensitivity, TC, same DR and no IBIS for $500 more? OMG. ?
  21. I like it. I want a smoke machine!
