Why is m43 all about zooms and the long tele end? For one thing, none of them are fast. And why was the 12-60 a 'no brainer'? There is no debating that fast primes are not only small and lightweight, but also optically superior to the zoom lenses. Edit: The prime lenses you mention are some of the very best in the micro four thirds system, but I wouldn't discount the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN either. Do you own any of these lenses?

I haven't seen those comments, but have to admit that's pretty ridiculous advice. The Voitlander 17.5 f/0.95 is the sharpest native lens as far as 35mm full-frame equivalent goes, and they also happen to be some of the most beautifully constructed lenses in any system. If you need AF, I think I recall Olympus is supposed to be releasing something in that focal length if I'm not mistaken. The Oly 25mm is way overpriced, if you can live with stepping back from your subject a few feet, the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN is unparalleled.

I didn't really want to join this conversation, but c'mon, the m43 system has the largest number of choices of any format when it comes to the availability of fast native or adapted lenses (collectively).

Continuing with something that occurred to me while I was comparing the Olympus 25mm to the Sigma 30mm, my next video will look at how you can add variety and interest, as well as distinguish your work from the mass of other YouTubers by not using a wide angle lens for vlogging, this time featuring the Olympus 75mm f/1.8, which, along with the Leica 12mm f/1.4, is my favorite lens in the u43 system.

The next mirrorless cameras from Panasonic will have to offer something more than the current lineup - it's pretty certain though that they won't have dual card slots, Vlog, 10 bit and so on - so what might they have that would compete with say, the Sony a6300 or a6500? I think they could still have 60p without threatening sales of the GH5. What other features could they add that would make them competitive with Sony?

So if I understand correctly, those who are saying their iMacs have no problem running 4K video, are they're using proxies or original media? And are able to apply two LUTs and Neat video, and the RAM isn't completely depleted? It's a bitch trying to find RAM in a third world country!

I enjoyed your video, but I'm wondering - where did the detail of his face go? It looks like it was photo shopped or something... Edit: I see jcs just pretty much nailed it. I really like to see skin texture, let alone color.

That is among the ugliest footage I've seen from any camera online - who cares what this guy thinks, he can't even shoot.
-
So the next vlog I work on, I'll turn off background rendering, apply neat video as the very last step and use proxy media. Not sure I understand what you mean about loading libraries on FCP browser - I never have more than on library at a time, lately I've just put it on my desktop. My projects are seldom more than 8 minutes long, most of the time not even compound clips, just a soundtrack, a couple of LUTs at most... I guess I'm not expecting any improvement in rendering speed or anything, but I don't like to see my computer memory drop to 1GB RAM... I may go ahead and pick up 32GB tomorrow. I wish I could find Crucial here, but not sure if any shops carry what I need.

I've got a 2013 27" iMac, 16GB RAM. When editing my last video, a five-minute clip (ProRes) with two LUTs and NEAT video, the RAM was completely exhausted and there was over 32GB swap. Will creating proxy media and turning off background rendering help, or should I just bite the bullet and buy 32GB of memory today?

Welcome to the forum, Ripper. Could you share a video showing how you are balancing the three axes?
-
It might have been the M.

I will have to do some more tests from f/1.4- f/1.8. Also, a few with LED lights to see how their color compares. It's definitely not a scientific comparison, I was mostly interested in how the lenses performed for the way I normally shoot.

Finally. The Olympus 25mm f/1.2 PRO vs. the Sigma 30mm f/1.4.
-
I've seen it online for as little as $450.00 I think. It's much more than that here though. It's a little more expensive if you want the remote, but since it works with any smartphone, I don't think a remote is that necessary anyhow. Version 2 should be released anytime soon.

I've been in a state of depression the past few days, the wifi here is driving me nuts, I've been trying for the past four days to upload my comparison between the Olympus 25mm f/1.2 and the Sigma 30mm f/1.4, but the Internet is so slow. I've gone to a bunch of coffee shops, but no success. So I got the brilliant idea to vlog about my internet woes, but I can't even upload that.

iFootage also introduced a Shark Slider Mini which looks great.

I can easily ignore anything but outright stupidity. You have no idea who this person is, they only post 10 second clips without any documentation, and you think it proves something! Can you prove to me that these aren't examples of special effects filters the YouTuber is developing? Or maybe the YouTuber is kicking the tripod to see how stable it is? This person has 0 subscribers. In general, someone who doesn't bother to write anything in the information box has no credibility with me.
-
I read the thread. The last example with the 10-24 contains no information whatsoever about anything - how it was shot, which settings were used, post processing... In fact, it tells us nothing at all, either about the camera or the lens. All of the YouTuber's clips are ten seconds long and give no information. Why bother posting it? Here's another example. Do we have any idea what the photographer was doing here? Can you find any other examples of this with the X-T2 online? It's all rubbish.
-
Looks really great. Can't wait to get home and watch this on my desktop.
-
What is it we're supposed to be looking for here? You seem to be searching for ten-second clips online by people who don't have a clue as to how to use a camera. There's lots of beautiful footage online as well, by more experienced photographers. I also own the G85 - if I search Google all day long, I can find even longer clips that look even more atrocious than the ones you've shared. Sorry if I sound a little upset, but I own the X-T2 and a half dozen or so lenses; I've posted all my videos here at EOSHD; and none look as bad as the samples you've posted. The X-T2 is an outstanding camera, and most users agree that Fuji's lenses are outstanding as well. If there's a problem with your lens, Fuji is supposed to have excellent customer service.

Zhiyun Crane, v.2 Zhiyun actually quietly updated the original version before this one, with screws that tighten the arms more securely, but this one adds even more convenience, with longer lasting batteries (twice as long), a quick release plate, and moving buttons to one side of the gimbal for ease of use.
