  1. You assume correctly - either manually white balance or set the white balance at 'sunny' or 'cloudy'.

I'm winding up my comparison between the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN and the Olympus 25mm f/1.2 and I just can't get over how ridiculous the Leica 12mm f/1.4 is.
  3. No, it is definitely the 18-55mm. If you can't tell this is sharp at 1080p, there's a problem with your monitor.
  4. I believe this was shot with the 18-55mm, but there's no documentation of that. Edit: There is documentation - over at Vimeo.
  5. These were all shot with the X-T2, screen grabs from 4K footage, they're not examples of perfection or anything, but there should be more brilliant highlights and crispness than what I'm seeing.
  6. May I ask if you are shooting with the lens closed down to f/22 or something? Because the X-T2 is capable of so much more detail than what I'm seeing here.
  7. Moire is going to crop up from time to time with any camera, and I find the X-T2 does a fine job, even with patterned fabric. Your footage looks soft and underexposed to me. It doesn't have any sparkle in the highlights, and the shadows are muddy.
  8. Everyone seems to repeat this anonymous source about -4 adding blur, it's ridiculous. Just about every video I've posted here in the forums shot with the X-T2 and a half dozen or so Fuji lenses was shot at -4 and they are incredibly sharp. And I've never run into moire or aliasing issues, at least nothing that popped out at me. Though I don't own it, the 18-55mm is a spectacular lens by the way. These images are all soft, they look like they were shot through a filter with vaseline. Something's not kosher here.
  9. This thing's amazeballs. Under a thousand would be a steal. Too bad won't be able to find them here in VN.
  10. So today you get to download a brand new camera. ?
  11. Since I've been vlogging a bit, I assign Fn5 to Wifi and Fn4 (on G85) to Stabilization and have no use for the side pop-up side menu either.
  12. Couldn't agree more about the tiny blinking red light. G85 and I guess all the Gxx cameras have the same problem.
  13. But the GH4 doesn't have a wave form monitor or vector scope, that's the GH5... And I can't speak for everyone, but I shoot full manual. Always. The G85 is easy to use, but nobody is saying it shoots video by itself. I'm still learning every day I shoot.

    Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 v.2 wider than v.1?
  15. I wouldn't depend on the G85's built-in microphone either though. ? Or is the preamp worse as well?
  16. yes, that's what I mean, when I'm operating the camera remotely, and tap to focus, it sometimes freezes, or takes a while to react.
  17. Do you ever find the Panasonic Image App to be sluggish, or have you ever had it freeze while you're using it? Because this seems to be happening quite often with me.
  18. The grade above is much more pleasing. I do like cyan or cool tones in Scandinavian cinema however. I think Lee just posted his review without any color correction, maybe he wanted to just get it out there quickly.
  19. You really kill me. Beautiful footage, nice pastel colors. Also great to see someone using a trio of phenomenal MFT glass: the Panasonic Leica 25mm f/1.4, the Panasonic Leica 42.5mm f/1.2 and the Olympus 75mm f/1.8.
  20. That's probably the main reason my X-T2 sits at home while I take the G85 out to play every day. No stabilizer is a downer. Flip screen and zebras would be nice too. But if I ever do a narrative short before I die, I think the X-T2 will be the one I use.
