  1. Not surprising. The X-T2 is one of the best APS-C cameras out there. @Trek of Joy Catch this clip at 3:01

I see there's a 12mm f/2.8 as well. I wonder if the 7.5mm accepts a filter. There can never be too many fast wides for MFT.
  3. That was my guess too, it looks stuttery on my monitor as well. ND filters are your friend.
  4. So it seems to do well when you're walking around the house pointing at different stuff - so why won't it focus properly when you're doing something like an unboxing video? Like when Max and Joseph were doing their beauty shot test. Algorithm?
  5. One of the most sensible reviews I've seen so far. This is just wrong on so many levels. Sorry, I'm pretty contrarian today (no different than any other day, right?), but how is this superior to 4K? Especially since there's no need to crop in a situation like this. It's already possible to crop in on normal 4K footage. I just don't trust reviewers like Peter, as warm and fuzzy as he is, when they never show us footage they've shot. And what's the point of owning a fancy camera if you can't even keep the highlights in your video from being blown out in studio conditions? Edit: I already realize that if you're shooting something unpredictable like a sporting event or something, recording 'open gate' could come in handy, but it's not something I see myself ever needing. Does Mr. Gregg even realize what this is for? Because I tried really hard to watch the video all the way through, but I can't recall him ever saying exactly when this would be useful. I'm afraid some people will get the impression from watching this, that it's valuable for getting extra resolution, when what I see is an image that is already disturbingly sharp. Edit II: I know Mr. Gregg is proud of his Olympus 25mm f/1.2 'Pro', he got rid of his Leica, but I would say keep your Leica or, if you really need a 'normal' prime, go with the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN, step back a couple of feet, and save yourself the $900.00. Edit III: For the videos he does, Mr. Gregg could shoot his episodes with a G85 and Sigma and use the $2,000 he saves to buy Jingles a nice Christmas gift.
  6. I don't want to get hung up on Lee's color - he's ten times the photographer I'll ever be.
  7. Relaxing in the Bahamas? Then 10 bit is for the 1/10 of 1% of those who know how to expose, white balance and grade properly, which isn't me.
  8. I love Lee's work, he's an awesome shooter, but even this clip from his most recent video shows how off the colors are from so many reviews of the GH5. Sorry, Lee, I love you!
  9. Was your sensor dusty too? Anyhow, I would just go for the Lumix G85. No question. Superb camera, reasonably priced, excellent fast primes, never had a problem with dust in my four years here in Vietnam. Great color, super light weight, no overheating issues in Southeast Asia.
  10. The thing is, if I were behind the camera instead of in front of it, the advantage disappears. I'd rather shoot APS-C. So if I do finally make a short, it'll probably be with the X-T2, not the G85. Dusty lenses and all!
  11. A couple shots I did this morning with the G85, Cinelike D, straight out of the camera, no color correction.
  12. For many of the videos I've seen where they're just shooting family occasions, the GH5 is definitely overkill, a GX85 or G85 would be more than enough. Likewise for vlogging. On a good day, I can get better color out of my G85 than most of the videos I've seen shot with the GH5. And that's without any color correction.
  13. Hopefully, you were wearing an elegant checkered shirt to show off the moire. A houndstooth or prince of wales would be awesomeness.
  14. I guess it depends what you plan to do with it. But it's really hard to take a video seriously when the lighting, focus, and composition (directly against a brick wall) are so awful. Sorry, that's just how I feel.

I'm still shooting the comparison between the $1,200.00 USD Olympus 25mm f/1.2 'Pro' and the $300.00 USD Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DCDN. It's looking like if you're willing to step back a foot or so, you can save yourself $900 and get just as good if not better image quality with the Sigma. Anyhow, still not finished testing...
  16. I was going to say that in- camera mic sounded just like a Sennheiser. ? Even a $200 shotgun mic is going to sound tremendously better than the in-camera mic. I've been loving the RodeLink, but your setup has much better sound for sure!
  17. Take my money! ? That in-camera mic sounds great! ?
  18. That's exactly how I shoot with my G85 - dial focus assist to 10X, go into the menus, AFF/AFS, select AFS, then use AF lock for just about everything. Or tap to focus on the image app. Last night though, the app kept freezing on me, not sure why. This morning, all seems fine again.

I think it would be awesome. The shots Dan gets of Austin in the video above are beautiful. I'll be keeping an eye on the Leica, too. What's held me back from getting a super wide has been the lack of a filter thread, and the Leica's got one. I've got the Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 v.1, but I've been trying to sell it. I prefer working with primes. But the Leica, maybe. Like Dan says, holding your arm outstretched all day shooting at 12mm is uncomfortable, the wider lens would certainly help. But it will also make my nose as long as a football field!
  20. Not sure I understand. Which mode are you in? Automatic? Because I just took my G85 and pointed it at the computer and the zebras remained even after starting recording. I use the zebras every day and have never encountered a problem. @Vesku As far as Panasonic never actually using their cameras to find issues or 'bad ergonomics', can you prove this statement, or is it just conjecture? Because the Panasonics I'm familiar with have outstanding ergonomics, save for the buttons that are too flush with the body.
  21. All lenses have dust inside. Fuji lenses are no more prone to dust than any other lens. Unless you can't see through the lens, dust shouldn't be a problem. This from professionals who've handled hundreds of lenses by different manufacturers.

Even the older Panasonic 7-14mm f/4 looks incredible.
  23. Agree 100%. I'd rather see just one correctly exposed, correctly white balanced clip straight out of the camera than dozens of poorly graded videos.
