  1. Peaking on the Fuji just kills it though, doesn't it? I mean it's awesome.
  2. Right you are. But when I press it, I get focus peaking. I have to press it like three times before I get magnification... It seems kind of erratic, anyhow. It seems to be working for me now. Thanks!
  3. Thanks for the quick response, BTM. If it's assignable to the My Menu, it's unusable for me, since by the time I do that, the picture will have disappeared. I'm sincerely hoping they can sort out the app so I can remotely control the camera and record 4K.
  4. Photo Joseph removes the bad bits.
  5. He has no idea what he's talking about, but can you give us a valid reason why it should be deleted?
  6. Can someone tell me if manual focus assist (magnification) can be assigned to a function button? Also, how do you change the size of the focus points in video?
  7. Aside from your arrogant tone, there is a gaping flaw in your logic. Buy a good video camera and see your AF problems melt away? Mirrorless cameras with good AF already exist. BTW, I said AF is sometimes indispensable, I never claimed it should supplant MF. If you don't have someone pulling focus, for example. In the following clip, from 1:08 - 1:11, where the camera moves quickly from the barber to the customer, is a case in point. Wait, I forgot to add boldface type, exclamation marks and references to how pros have been doing things for decades, as if the industry is standing still.
  8. A channel I watch every day has over 350,000 subscribers, isn't running any ads.
  9. My bad. Just three days ago, I watched this video by Daniel Peters saying he was having trouble with clips in FCP X on his Mac and that Andrew had recommended Edit Ready. Apparently, unnecessary. Now he's saying proxies are the answer.
  10. Because it's excellent software and is 100% free for clips up to one minute.
  11. With over a billion users around the world, might be a logistical nightmare.
  12. Could you snap a pic with your phone of the LCD when a subject is in focus and peaking isn't visible?
  13. I criticized Joseph L's AF-C tests back in February. https://jonpais.wordpress.com/2017/02/27/lumix-gh5-af-c-tests-by-joseph-linaschke/
  14. As someone commented on the JL vs. MY video, the GH5 focuses better than the a6500 at 4K 60p. ?
  15. Here's my highly unscientific test of all five Fuji lenses in my possession. A more experienced person could probably get better results, but the fly-by-wire lenses, particularly the longer focal lengths and the zooms, are very difficult to focus quickly (for me!). Though I've never seen the need to move the ring so fast in real life. For the tests, I focused on the bottle, then moved the focus ring around 1/4 to 1/2 turn out of focus before beginning. Results would have been worse if I had to turn the ring even more.
  16. Maybe he doesn't want to mention the rival by name.
  17. Have you tried using Monochrome Live View? Which color peaking are you using?
  18. Focus peaking works with all lenses, native or no. Did you even bother to watch the 2-1/2 minute video?
  19. If you are a working professional, you would know that there are times when good AF is indispensable. And no need to be so condescending. Also, is the bold key stuck on your keyboard?
  20. Why does Joseph keep referring to Max's a6500 as 'that little Sony you have'? Is he even aware that it has an APS-C sensor? By these linguistic tricks it sounds like he's trying to compare it to a point-and-shoot.
