Looks like Sigma's got some strong competition in the way of a tiny, obscure company on an island somewhere. Their cine line anyhow.

Fuji is releasing two 'budget' E mount cinema lenses covering super 35: an 18-55mm T2.9 and a 50-135mm T2.9. No breathing, parfocal, 200 degree focus throw. I believe there are plans to release an X mount in the future. Around $3,799.00 USD.

If I were to applaud Sigma for any of the new lenses in their announcement, it would have to be the 14mm as well, as it is unique, and again shows that Sigma is leading the way, and at prices that shame the competition. I was thinking it would be unusable for me as well, but for a different reason - it has no filter thread as far as I can tell. And yes, these full frame lenses are all huge as hell on a m43 camera. Fine if you're on a movie set, not so great for the rest of us. Which is why I've been evangelizing about native lenses recently.

You've used the GH5???

@Borbarad Pretty much the entire interview consists of questions to the effect of why can't the camera do this? why can't the camera do that? Why can't the camera record 5K? Why can't it record 4K 60p 4:2:2 10 bit internally? Why doesn't it shoot HEVC in video mode? Why can't you record audio in VFR mode? So, not very interesting to me, maybe to someone else though.

GH5 - 5 axis stabilisation body versus 3 axis gimbal?

Get the Zhiyun Crane. Period. -
Looks like they've announced four lenses in all: the Art 24-70 f/2.8, Art 14mm f/1.8, Art 135mm f/1.8, and Contemporary 100-400mm f/5-6.3.

Since the GH5 has USB-C, I wish someone would test the speed difference between offloading 30GB to a new Mac with the cable vs an SD card on the 2015 MBP.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. ? I think it's like saying Fuji users are all hipsters. I don't think you can judge people by the computer they use. As far as Xiaomi goes, if they had Apple's iOS, I'd get one in a heartbeat. Edit: I own the 2016 MBPr with touch bar and haven't experienced any problems as of yet.

I've heard that some Apple fanatics are Jews!

This isn't new - it was already posted in this thread weeks ago. ?

I commented on all the above: the acting's super for non-professionals, and they say the V-log has a lot of latitude - they just don't let us see that in their grade. Edit: I don't know why the blacks are so crushed. When I upload videos to YouTube, which I try to do every week, the videos are very representative of the tonality of the original files - no crushed blacks, no blown highlights. So not sure what's going on here.

It looks better with your settings on my lowly iMac which apparently is a piece of shit according to one member, but which unfortunately is all I can afford at the moment.

First of all, the OP is talking about a price range starting at $300.00 USD, and, to the best of my knowledge, there is no gimbal that can handle 2.2 Kg at that price point, so I think he is out of touch with reality. Secondly, the great thing about newer gimbals like the Crane is that there is absolutely no need to go into complicated and time-consuming PID settings - we can adjust dozens of parameters using a smartphone or iPod, and the entire process takes just seconds. Calibrating the Crane takes under five minutes. So my question is, does the OP even own a gimbal, and what exactly is it he wants to accomplish? Thousands of people are using gimbals like the Crane, and I presume they are happy not to have to mess around with PID settings, which are a pain in the ass, it just works out of the box.

Even at 16-235, the blacks are way crushed on my iMac. I had a look at the original scene from Goodfellas, and of course, there is much more detail in the shadows. And Levi said he was careful not to clip the blacks, a term which I'd never heard before; I've always heard clipped highlights and crushed blacks... Clipping refers to blown highlights. So when they're looking at the clips on the timeline in Resolve and say what lattitude Vlog has, I'm not seeing it in the final result. Also, the sound engineer says the internal preamp on the GH5 has a low S/N ratio, whereas I believe he meant to say high, because a higher number reduces the perceived noise. But I don't want to be too critical, after all, how many camera reviewers also have some acting chops?

Why so antagonistic? You only posted the topic a couple hours ago... why don't you share your setup with us first?

That and the mystery why I can no longer watch videos on YouTube in 4K with Safari. But I don't have a 4K monitor anyway. Correction: I know why, how long till Apple fixes it?
