I had v1.41, just updated via Bluetooth as well. I didn't touch BLE, since I'm not sure what it is either. I will contact Zhiyun and ask... edit I just Googled BLE, it refers to v4.0 Bluetooth standard, lower energy consumption, longer range, as far as I can tell. I never use the remote when shooting, so it shouldn't make any difference. It's pretty swell you can update the device without having to connect it to the computer. Once it began updating, I noticed the camera move, and when it was finished, the motors seemed clunky when I moved the gimbal around. I switched it off then on again, and it appears to be fine. I'll also be shooting this afternoon to see if the update makes any difference in handling. edit #2 Now, I'm interested in how to operate the Zhiyun Assistant app for calibration, there's lots of neat stuff in there, but I don't see any how-to videos anywhere. According to Zhiyun's website, you're supposed to lay down the stabilizer like in the picture shown in the app, and it goes through and calibrates your gimbal, but... Are you expected to leave the gimbal on during the process? Won't it start rotating like the devil with no camera attached? Lots of questions still... But the footage I shot this afternoon after updating to v1.50 looks fine, no difference from before as far as I can tell. I'm still working on my ninja walk, it's not as straightforward and simple as some reviewers would have you believe. And I am really enjoying the inverted mode, since in Vietnam, many people crouch or sit on tiny stools or on curbs.

To OP, could you share a clip? One of the links does mention throwing the screen out of focus. Is this possible for you to do, or must the screen be sharp? They say there are apps available to soften the image. Another option is to use a wider aperture. These tips are all mentioned in the links. But the OP doesn't say whether the entire screen must be shown, whether it must be sharp or not, and what equipment he is using.

How is the motion cadence?

There are many responses to this question around the internet: here, here, and here are just a few. Hopefully, one of them solves your problem.

It isn't unusual to have to remove the camera from any device when changing batteries or SD cards, be it a tripod, a slider, a crane, whatever, so I fail to see what the complaint is. It takes just two minutes to rebalance the camera on the gimbal anyhow. Just how often do you need to change the batteries and SD card when shooting with the stabilizer? I just returned from a weeklong trip to Thailand and only had to replace the camera battery once. The Zhiyun's batteries lasted through the entire trip. It is always possible to attach a quick mount plate to the slider and camera. Pardon my saying so, but it almost sounds as if you're trying to find fault with the stabilizer where there is none, and swinging the camera around in such a way that the gimbal doesn't have a chance to balance itself. As for the long handle, I find it is a definite advantage when shooting in inverted mode.
-
Exactly. Without knowing what you're shooting, who can say which camera is best for your needs? And what 12-24mm lens are you referring to? To the best of my knowledge, the camera comes equipped with a 12-32mm lens.
-
I guess I see what you're talking about - the image stuttering or whatnot - but I've never seen a test like this before, where the camera is frantically swinging around in a different direction every fraction of a second or so. I would try to move the camera more smoothly and not disorient the viewer with an excess of camera movement, unless you are preparing to make a horror film. If the motors are making unusual sounds, I'd contact Zhiyun for service or replacement, or, if not, make arrangements to return the gimbal to the seller. The motors should not make any audible noise in upright or inverted mode. Sounds great! So are you using the focus peaking on the camera's LCD to confirm focus when pulling focus with the Aputure?

Where is the GX80/85 Firmware !?!? Panasonic Cheats/Hoax
jonpais replied to geppoitaly's topic in Cameras
Why? Because some lenses aren't compatible with Dual IS is why. You think it's a conspiracy? -

First of all, there is nothing in common between this update and the V-Log Lite paid upgrade. Secondly, just because one or a couple users are having problems updating their lenses doesn't automatically warrant calling Panasonic cheaters. Finally, what's the record-time limit have to do with any of this? -
I purchased Edelkrone's original slider when it first came out, but could never get a smooth shot with it, though I must say their customer service department always responded promptly. A few years after buying the slider, I noticed rust gathering on the rollers. Edelkrone emailed me immediately and offered to replace my 3 year-old slider with the new Slider Plus, if I was willing to pay just a few dollars for shipping. The replacement arrived very quickly, and has no 'manufacturing defects'. I would rate their customer service very highly, and would not hesitate to purchase from them again.

I first saw this over at SlashCam - a very portable small slider solution with a travel of 1.3 feet. It can handle 1.5 Kg. https://www.edelkrone.com/p/187/wing

1.74x - A Crop Odyssey - Canon 5D Mark IV officially announced
jonpais replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
But my Tokina was just $400, the Sigma only $800, no more than any other fast u43 glass out there... edit: my mistake, the Sigma costs just $700. -
Go ahead and install an SSD - you will think you've got a new laptop, your read and write speeds will increase dramatically. How much RAM do you have now? Definitely go for at least 8GB or the most the laptop can handle.

It's worth every penny! They also posted a video with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II/16-35mm F2.8, but unfortunately, I can't watch it.

I confess to not being an expert on computers, so I overlooked the bit about 8-bit vs 10-bit support. Here is where I found information about Kaby Lake. And here is a quote from the same story over at Anand Tech: ...support for HEVC Main10 Profile was announced with 7th Gen, although it was unclear if this was decode only or encode as well. This is still a step up from Skylake support, where Main10 required hybrid hardware/software decoding acceleration. Moving it into hardware for Kaby Lake will help with performance and power consumption, particularly of 4K content where HEVC vs. H.264 differences are bigger than Full-HD. The demo on stage showed GoPro software taking 4K data from six cameras and being able to switch between the content of each camera without stuttering or delay, on a 2-in-1 mobile device.

That's easy - buy the Zhiyun Crane! Several reviewers over at B&H say balancing the stabilizer, even with a GH4 + 12-35mm lens, was tricky. The Zhiyun Crane takes just a few minutes. I would say ease of balancing trumps all the other features of the Feiyu, like the extension handlebars, etc. The Feiyu Tech MG requires the use of a hex key, which harks back to the early days of the Nebula 4000. I have yet to see a review of the Crane where it was difficult to balance, provided the camera/lens combo were under 1200 g. And apparently, it can even handle 1620 g.

This is awesome news! Every Zhiyun gimbal many unexpected good thing ???
-
Sky Lake has hybrid hardware/software support for HEVC, whereas Kaby Lake is supposed to be fully hardware supported, which should bring improvements, particularly where content is greater than HD (eg 4K)

I'm not clairvoyant, so I can't say what would have become of Samsung's camera if it didn't sport H265, but soon it will be standard on all 4K cameras, it isn't just 'some new tech trend' that will come and go. Samsung were ahead of their time. Intel's latest processor, Kaby Lake, will support hardware accelerated HEVC.

I'm afraid I don't understand you, perhaps others reading this might not understand you either.... I'm a long-time Apple user. Exactly what am I supposed to be suspicious about? Lure others down what path? This all sounds very sinister. Are Apple users being led to hell and damnation or something? That's friction' awesome! Here's my machine, late 2013
-
there was a topic similar to yours not long ago I'm holding off on upgrading from my own 27" iMac until Apple incorporates Intel's new Kaby Lake processor, which is hardware accelerated for HEVC. Could be out in 2017. I expect most 4K cameras will be using H265 in the next couple years. Samsung was anticipating this with their NX1.

You're talking about a $3,000 stabilizer (magnesium) rated at 12 pounds here vs. a pistol grip stabilizer costing $600 with a max payload of a little over 2 pounds. The less expensive Helix (aluminum) costs half as much, but weighs almost 6 pounds. I wouldn't call something that will break your back 'future proof'... You'll have spent all that money, only to find yourself looking for a lighter gimbal, just like many Ronin M users have been doing.

Michael - how do you know this? Do you work for Zhiyun Tech? To the best of my knowledge, Zhiyun has never produced a two-handed gimbal before this one. Up until very recently, they have been known for their small stabilizers for cellphones... This unit has not even been tested yet because it hasn't even been released. And as if this statement weren't ridiculous enough, why would it be 'hard to believe' that a two-handed stabilizer could support 4Kg? I'm missing something here... Zhiyun Tech hasn't been producing stabilizers for professional cameras long enough for anyone to assert what they 'usually mean'.

Most scamers have poor speling. If a buyer doesn't pay within 2 days, a seller can open an unpaid item case in the Resolution Center. If the buyer still doesn't pay or reach some other agreement with the seller, eBay may record the unpaid item on the buyer's account.
