  1. If you want a fast wide prime, the Sigma 20mm and Metabones seems like the obvious choice to me. You won't need stabilization with such a wide lens. You can always pick up an inexpensive shoulder mount if you so desire.
  2. Anthony- are you referring to the Sigma 50mm f/1.4? If so, this is incredible news!
  3. This has already been discussed in these pages. It's complete nonsense.
  4. Thanks, Pablo. I see in the Sigma user manual that there is indeed a slider built into the software allowing adjustment of the focus throw. If anybody has tested this, I'd be very interested in learning the results. Because my biggest and maybe single complaint about the 50mm f/1.4 is the short focus throw. I went ahead and ordered the USB dock out of curiosity. Supposedly, it'll arrive in around 10 days here in Vietnam.
  5. I see nothing either in Sigma's literature or reviews at DPReview and Lens Rentals indicating any adjustment for focus throw. Could you point me in the right direction - where did you find this information?
  6. Looking forward to seeing the video.
  7. Here's a good tutorial on how to achieve the orange/teal look, known as the 'blockbuster' look. The original images in the tutorial appear to be daylight balanced.

Thanks for posting kdzrevil. I regret not having purchased the Milvus 50mm f/1.4 myself: I ended up getting the far less expensive Sigma, and while it's a great lens, the focus throw is way too short for video. Your clip looks like it has had a lot of sharpening added in post, I believe I see haloing around the edges of everything.
  9. + Fredrik Thanks, you saved me from spending another $1,000. I bought the Nebula 4000 when it came out and could never even get the camera to balance properly. I don't want to mess around with PID settings either.
  10. There was an update a while back to reduce hunting for focus, but stabilization hasn't been improved on my lens either.
  11. You don't have a bad copy, the jitters you're seeing have already been well-documented here and elsewhere. Aside from that though, the Vario 35-100 f/2.8 is a beautiful lens - if overpriced and plastic-y feeling.
  12. Could we stay on topic please? There is a thread for the Panasonic G7.This thread is supposed to be about the GX80 and how it will piss off everybody who owns a G7! Are those numbering systems used for SD cards intentionally confusing or what?
  13. Just so readers aren't misled into purchasing expensive SD cards, it probably isn't necessary to buy UHS-I UHS Speed Class 3 cards for shooting 4K. I know the first thing I'd like to do to my brand-new $1,000 camera is crack off the battery door.
  14. This explanation is even more confusing than your original post. I would imagine purchasers of any electronic goods feel a little upset when a newer product is released shortly afterward. So what is the point? I still fail to understand this business about reviewers being trashed. Trashed by whom? For what? And I'm sure we'll learn very shortly from reviewers if there are any overheating issues. I predict within the week.
  15. Why would overheating be a concern? Have any previous Panasonic cameras suffered from overheating?
  16. Can we stay on topic please? I'm not sure I follow, Sanveer. How would an improvement in image quality in a new camera be disastrous for those who purchased the GX8 or G7? In what way is Panasonic downplaying the improvement in image quality? And why can't reviewers measure the improvement in image quality without losing their credibility?
  17. This looks simply awesome! I've been struggling for weeks now to get my Nebula 4000 balanced after putting it away in my closet for a year... For me, the biggest downside of the GH4 is whether I'm using Pansonic lenses or a Speed Booster with Sigma glass, my images are all shaky, defeating the whole point of 4K. I will definitely be getting either the GX80 or upcoming GH5 based on this clip.
  18. I just wanted to add that my experience with Edelkrone's customer service has been excellent. I purchased their first slider three years ago and recently wrote the company about a problem with the rollers. They said they couldn't send replacement parts as that model has since been discontinued, so they offered to send me the newer version at no cost. I only had to pay $20.00 shipping, and they paid to have my old slider returned by UPS. The new unit arrived at my doorstep in Vietnam in just 5 days.
  19. To OP: here's an article you might find interesting.
