  1. They end up being the same, then I start asking why I’m not shooting with a Fuji that’s more video focused. For a lot less money.
  2. Not all crops were created equal - a 1.17x crop is a wee different from a 1.74x crop. If the crop on the Canons were small, I don't think anyone would be crying about it. But they've been substantial.
  3. This is probably going to be the final beta v801, with the new LUTs being sent out shortly. Skin tones less orange/magenta. Remember, you’ve got to ETTR and set saturation in camera to -5 with the new version. Sample
  4. Nobody watches 4K in Namibia or Laos anyway.
  5. Too bad for Canon users they don’t share the same mount. ?
  6. “Canon have a better understanding of the market than you or I.” - commentor, Canonrumors ?
  7. No IBIS, no peaking, no zebras, 1.75x crop? “I’m not worried, a more pro version will come out eventually”. ? Still, I find it hard to believe.
  8. If you bothered to read my comment, I said I was not only referring to resolution, though you can certainly see the difference between high res and lo res glass in 4K. The car analogy makes little sense to me BTW.
  9. I did not say any different. What I said was, is that the trend is toward large format. All the major players now have at least one large format cinema camera in their lineup.
  10. @Danyyyel I wasn't just talking about resolution; and no, just any lens from the past twenty years is not good enough for 4K video. I've reviewed one or two lenses in my day, and they all have their individual character. And some are sharper than others.
  11. 1/2 year to put all my gear up for sale. I suppose ‘new mount’ puts to rest any speculation that this is a cinema camera.
  12. It’s much easier to get a pass with a flat, desaturated grade like the ones we’ve seen. Once you begin to increase saturation to customary levels, faults (or strengths) become much more apparent.
  13. . I think Nikon should release some f/8 primes too! Forget the computer-generated MTF charts: none of the videos released yet convince me the new S line lenses are in any way superior to what I'm seeing with the Sony G or Voigtlanders.
  14. The Dixie Dixon video is nice and all, but I'm not seeing anything to write home about as far as skin tones go. Seeing a lot of out-of-focus shots as well. Sony, no color correction in post.
  15. Skin tones are all over the map, from green to yellow to magenta.
  16. Fuji said the X-T2 couldn't do zebras because of the processor I believe.
