Nikon Z6 features 4K N-LOG, 10bit HDMI output and 120fps 1080p

My information is correct. Sony lenses are also dust and moisture resistant. We all know what that means - keep them out of the rain! Sony's 24-70mm f/4: Dust- and moisture-sealed design better permits working in inclement conditions and rubberized control rings benefit handling in colder temperatures. Advantage Sony: +2 (lower cost, OSS) Advantage Nikon: -2 (higher cost, no OIS) -

I'll give you minimal breathing, but as the Nikon lenses aren't linear, that's also a moot point. Not great for video. Practically unusable for repeatable results. And I thought we were comparing the slow Nikon lenses that feel insubstantial in the hand, not the pro f/1.4 Sony lenses. Apples to apples, as they say! And I thought I already addressed your point about Nikon's lenses not being weather sealed. What good is it if the body is weather sealed, but the lens isn't? So I don't see how that justifies the exorbitant price tag of their new lenses... In fact, Sony's 24-70mm f/4 has optical stabilization and runs $200 less! And I'm glad you got a deal on a used lens, but we're discussing new lenses here. -

The point I'm making is that the Nikon Z lenses are overpriced. I don't see any mention of the lenses being weather sealed and if they're not, it's a moot point! -
Over one hour 4K no overheating. That works for me.

Such as posting results of video performance when they are relevant.

How many here have already pre-ordered the Nikon Z7 bundled with 24-70mm f/4 and FTZ adapter for $4,146.90? I nearly got sticker shock when I bought my Sony lenses, but Nikon's pricing takes the cake! -

Sorry to be such a stickler but either it is dual pixel or it is not. If not, it cannot copy how Canon's DPAF operates and works. -

Oh, I thought you said Nikon copied Canon's DPAF. My bad. Because according to Tony and Chelsea Northrup, when shooting in good lighting conditions using single point and focusing on the eye, their pre-production model focused more like the XT-1 or a7r II - in other words, it missed focus most of the time. Tony says it doesn't compare to the a7r III or a7 III. Their recommendation is not to buy. I only watched the first minute or so of this guy's video, but he claims that the only reason Tony Northrup can't recommend the Nikon Z is because of the lack of dual card slots. Which is a bald-faced lie. -

By copy, do you mean that each pixel on Nikon’s sensor has two separate, light-sensitive photodiodes, which convert light into an electronic signal? Or are you saying their system is as effective as Canon’s? Otherwise, they would be infringing upon Canon’s patented proprietary technology... ? -
An informative article on how brick and mortar shops have been squeezed, along with just how much (or how little) profit they make on each camera body, lens and filter sold.

I would really like to see some benchmarks proving that Max’s tests are baloney. He is such a fanboy. ?

Shooting with face detect at f/2.5 at arm’s length with the incredible 85mm f/1.8, my subjects’ eyes are all tack sharp. ? -
But @kye , is it serious editing? ?

Disappointing they don’t offer 8K. ?

Sadly the company also says that it won't be sharing the technical details of the mount, preferring to protect sales of its own lenses at the expense of creating of a more inviting, wider ecosystem. So, unlike Micro Four Thirds and Sony E-Mount, third-party makers will have to reverse-engineer the Z mount. - DPReview

I thought the buttons would have more tactile feedback. I hate mushy buttons. ? -
Is that so? Could you provide a link please? What about the two dozen third party Z mount lenses that were supposed to be released within months of launch? So disappointing!

Some rather eccentric views: Ken Rockwell says this release makes DSLRs obsolete, recommends selling your Sony and says that Sony should now concentrate on its TV business, while Fuji should concentrate on film and paper. ? Lloyd Chambers thinks the lack of eye detect AF is a downer, while Gordon Laing is not convinced the Z cameras necessarily handle any better than Sony. And I wasn’t aware until today that the Z6 won’t be available until two months after the Z7. -
I think you are missing the point. I have never said anyone was factually wrong because they like anything. That doesn’t even make logical sense. I never said one camera was better, never have. We were discussing tonal transitions and noise, not my my age or appearance and certainly not preferences.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinons, not to their own facts. You might think Earth is the largest planet, but that doesn’t change the fact that Jupiter’s mass is 300 times greater. I’ve supplied lab tests from reputable sources as well as screen grabs from my own work to refute wild unverified claims about noise and tonal transitions, something which neither you nor Shirozina nor IronVideo have done. By the way, I own both the GH5 and the a7 III. Both systems have their own strengths and weaknesses. I haven’t shied away from writing extensively about the annoyances of the a7 III in the appropriate threads; probably more so than anyone else in this forum. And that list is not short. In fact, no other forum member has shared as many videos and screen grabs of video taken with the Panasonic and Sony cameras, shot with some of the finest available lenses in both systems and under identical lighting conditions so readers can make up their own minds.
