  1. Arri color science too. The best option for under $20,000!
  2. Chunky responsive buttons, textured grip, lens release not cramped like Sony’s, 10-bit 4:2:2 - better in every single conceivable way. They’ve reinvented the wheel!
  3. And lenses designed to reduce breathing. Now Sony’s gonna have to come out with a whole new lineup to compete with Nikon’s S line. ?
  4. I think it's quite sensible to release a 35mm f/1.8, 50mm f/1.8 and 24-70 f/4 at launch, as the size/weight savings is enormous and today's sensors are much better in low light than in the past - provided they don't cost a fortune.
  5. That is just freaking awesome. Thanks. @Mark Romero 2 Since you shoot real estate, I would just get a Canon 1DX mark II and be done with it. This fellow produces awesome tutorials.
  6. I fail to see what preorder status has got anything to do with which monitor is best for my "needs" or anyone else's for that matter. The poster did not say he needed a monitor right away. I would absolutely recommend waiting for the Ninja V. That's no different from saying the P4K is on preorder at BH right now, so the best camera for everyone's needs is the GH5s.
  7. Right - how about answering the question instead of giving snide replies. @BTM_Pix has already pointed out several areas in which the Z cameras deviate from the traditional DSLR that concern him. Question: In what ways are Z cameras ergonomically drastically improved? (a perfectly legitimate question, as the ergonomics of the camera will be the very first thing reviewers discuss when they get their hands on one). Answer: Because Sony sucks. Is that so difficult to comprehend? (thinly veiled condescension)
  8. I think @webrunner5 is aware of that. But why would he need it for the PK4?
  9. For HLG, Paul Leeming recommends setting zebras to 95+, Slog2 100+. I’ve been following his recommendation of 95+ for Cine2 and it works fine for me. These settings are all based on tests with the a7R III; he’ll be renting an a7 III shortly.
  10. HLG uses a log curve for the upper half of the signal values, increasing dynamic range.
  11. Why do I feel like stabbing myself in the ear with a pencil now?
  12. I’m terrified of changing any settings because it took me three hours just to find them in the menu in the first place.
  13. And perhaps burn a hundred candles in my room to test the overheating, throw a hideously oversaturated blue light on the wall behind me just to offend good taste, and rent an Arri to prove I’m no noob? ?
  14. I guess bcs you'll want to stop the lens down for deeper depth of field.
  15. TFT just published their review of the Philips Momentum 436M6VBPAB HDR1000, it looks like a nice gaming monitor, but again, not for content creation.
  16. Agreed on that point. Space better utilized for more buttons or dials. Speaking of, I wonder if they're illuminated like the D850?
  17. Well they ought to be: the a7 cameras are five years old already. ?
  18. Fewer AF points than the a7 III?
  19. The GH5 and GH5s are still great cameras. When the GH5s was announced however, there was heated debate about the lack of IBIS (some were even derided for questioning Panasonic’s decision), the timing of the release and the pricing as well. In fact, the only overheating Panasonic suffers from are online debates about sensor size, AF and low light performance.
  20. A screen grab demonstrating the superiority of Panasonic's tonal transitions. That's what we were talking about, weren't we?
