In a nutshell:
No big difference when used with the EOS R or X-T3.
Essential with Nikon Z N-Log.
You will see a difference when shooting Sony S-Log.
Also useful for GH5 4K 60p.
Since it has been conclusively demonstrated that Nikon’s sensor does not have any more freedom of movement than Sony’s, it gives hope that Sony will continue to improve their IBIS.
Joy stick replaced with touch bar - good idea?
Control wheel on back of camera removed and replaced by ring on lenses - good idea or Canon’s way of making third-party lenses less desirable?
If you don’t care for oversampling, just enable s35 crop mode. Oh, forgot - it doesn’t have one.
Let Griffin Hammond walk you through it.
Alternatively, you can just download his settings over at YT, place them on your SD card and import to camera - mission complete in a couple seconds. And congratulations!
The shop threw in a free battery when I bought the camera, so I’m not paying a single dime more for anything. Not all cheap Chinese knock-offs are any good, and Sony can’t inspect each and every one to make sure they’re not going to swell up or whatever. Panasonic, Canon, Blackmagic and other companies do the same. If it’s a huge problem, just don’t update the firmware. lol
I think you and I both know there are possibly very good reasons for the change, but I see I’m not about to convince you or the hundreds of others over at SAR.
Even the Pocket 4K exhibits different behavior when using generic Canon batteries. I don’t automatically jump to conclusions.
@anonim You should probably clarify that the sentence in quotes belongs to @wolf33d , not @Oliver Daniel .
Without going back three hours to read his original comment, it makes it sound like the ravings of a lunatic. ?
