  1. An interesting read about a con artist who impersonated over a half dozen movers and shakers in the entertainment industry. Tip: if someone asks you to disrobe during a Skype interview, it just might be a scam. ? article
  2. @tupp But is a shallow mount necessary to use a focal reducer? ?

    Lenses

Sony’s FE lenses aren’t too shabby, but Voigtlander’s build quality is sick.
  4. Justified criticism and/or skepticism is not hatred. I don’t believe a single person in this thread feels hatred toward BMD.
  5. Why on earth make up a fake story about the date of another camera’s announcement? ?
  6. The Voigtlander that I'm seriously considering for my a7 III is the mechanically and optically perfect Apo-Lanthar 65 mm f/2.
  7. nice work, man. some of the cleanest night photography I've ever seen on YT as well. thanks.
  8. Alister Chapman talks with ProAV TV about HDR, HLG and the grading monitor he uses.
  9. RX100VA - updated processor, improved AF, and other goodies from RX100VI - available Japan only ATM. https://www.sony.jp/cyber-shot/products/DSC-RX100M5A/
  10. And 1 meter might be a bit excessive for most of us hybrid shooters.
  11. The OP asked for advice about purchasing cables that were not insanely expensive, which is what I did. I really don't understand what you're getting at.
  12. This from Mystery Box: HDMI Note Your HDMI cables need to support HDMI 2.0 (18Gbps) or higher for 50p or 60p capture. Many inexpensive HDMI cables are not capable of achieving the listed standard speed, so be sure to test any cables you plan on using with the GH5S and the Ninja Inferno to ensure they support 4K 60P / 4K 50P 10bit 4:2:2 transmission. If the cable doesn’t support it, you’ll notice the Ninja Inferno cutting out and flickering during capture, and segmenting the ProRes clips as if you had started and stopped the camera each time. We brought in multiple brands of HDMI cables, and found that the Rocketfish cables gave us the best results.
  13. You and I can’t afford an MK and adaptor anyway, no use getting all worked up about it.
  14. Mystery Box recommends Rocketfish cables.
  15. For the cost of that thing combined with an MK, and the fact that it’s still a dual focus operation, I’d sooner go with a true anamorphic or rent one.
  16. Perhaps because in this day and age, consumers have become accustomed to elegant industrial design? Much of my appreciation for Fuji’s cameras, Voigtlander lenses and even something as basic as the Bright Tangerine Titan Arm comes from their aesthetics, the materials used in their manufacture and fine craftsmanship.
  17. The Olympus 45mm f/1.2 Pro’s got nicer bokeh than the Nocticron. It’s also got clutch manual focus. I’ve never had an issue with stabilization with that lens.
  18. Each manufacturer’s AF system is fine-tuned to work best with their own lenses, and since BMD makes none, I doubt video AF-C would ever be better than mediocre anyhow.
  19. I think you are the one talking out of your arse, m8.
  20. @Ed_David You are the one who, because you had a grudge against Blackmagic, started a topic here in which you fabricated a story about seeing a scratched Ursa at your favorite retailer; alleged that their cameras were flimsily constructed and that they were finished as a company; and went on to disseminate lies that Blackmagic Design was intentionally selling defective products to the public: a smear campaign expressly calculated to hurt BMD’s sales, you sideshow freak.
  21. An SD card with transfer speeds of 985MB/s and able to hold 128TB of data? They’re coming, but no idea when or for how much. I’d take one of these over the T5 if the price was right. But it probably won’t be! SD Express
