What I dreaded the most going with the a7 III were the skin tones... I half expected them to be a nightmare, and most of what I'd seen online didn't inspire much hope. But I shot a few clips at the post office this morning (mix of daylight/fluorescent), and the colors look fine to me, especially since I didn't do much in the way of color correction. So far, finding the Sony a joy to shoot with... Edit: A more accurate representation of the colors can be found here.

How can you be so sure the Terra 4K has a similar image when we haven’t even seen footage yet?

However, if you swing the camera around a bit, it gathers more light. ?

To be fair, with my menu & the ability to customize practically every button and dial, there’s almost no reason to go hunting for items in the menu any longer.

I believe they add film grain, not noise. ?

But I thought being able to lift shadows in post with less noise was the definition of more latitude... ?

My eyeballs are melting just thinking about it. ?

He doesn’t know what I objected to, but he’s certain it was on YT and that I watched on an uncalibrated monitor. And he keeps saying @cantsin ‘s video looks like log footage even though it clearly does not.

Personally, I’d sooner go with manual focus than rely on CDAF for video.

I like it for its lighter body, but I’m gonna carry around an expensive recorder/monitor. Priceless.

I mostly used Jason Vong’s setup on YT, with a few changes based on Paul Leeming’s setup guide. Once the buttoms are customized, it shouldn’t be necessary to dive into the menus for hours any more.

I used to think so too! But I think you’ve got to enable landscape mode on iPhones. Not sure about other devices.

In the 11 years I’ve lived in Asia, it’s never ceased to amaze me how few people have landscape mode enabled on their phones. Many don’t even seem to know where it’s at.
