I think we should be talking about the successor to the P4K.
-
If they’d used 1080 proxies during editing, would that make any difference?
-
But Max’s points are all factual: short battery life, no headphone jack, inability to record video to both cards simultaneously, FAT32 cards, moire. What precisely are you skeptical of? ?
-
With the new format, it is not the extra resolution, which can only be seen up close, but the greater dynamic range and color which are of greatest significance.
-
But your statement that 'it's already very close now' isn't supported by what we see in the video you shared.

I'm not overly fond of the orange and teal look. If I were working with a LUT, I wouldn't want it to automatically apply that color scheme. @cantsin's treatment without LUT looks more natural to me:
-
are you sure about that? such as? @Laurier why do you think that is? This seems to contradict what @Inazuma has observed: the colors look way different to my eyes. as in night and day different.

Shallow depth of field and working in low light are paramount for me. And f/5.6 at the long end just isn't going to cut it. Pleasing bokeh is not something this lens is going to excel at. You've only got one stop to work with here - stop down any further and the effects of diffraction are already setting in. This is a point-and-shoot lens for pocket cameras, not a serious filmmaking tool. It is restricted to situations where there is a lot of light. I could not have used this lens on any of my shoots without bumping up the the ISO to astronomical levels. Hardly.

No, I don't think it's the monitor.

so the iMac Pro is not really professional after all?

I don’t think you can stream Netflix on an iMac. However, anyone who loves movies will watch them on a good TV anyhow, as the picture quality is much better. -
Surprised Oppo got out of the Blu ray player business.

Apple Insider says Linus' analogy is inappropriate, because a computer isn't a car, and driving into a streetlamp isn't the same as dropping your computer. I don't think they understand what an analogy is. And Apple Insider makes it sound like Apple is indeed punishing the customer for being reckless. What if my doctor refused to treat me because my obesity was caused by overeating? The answer of course, is to only eat open source potato chips. -
@TwoScoops Isn't that the lens ePhotozine rated higher than both the Leica Nocticron and the Olympus 75mm f/1.8?

Sorry, but I watched the video and read your article. The bottom line is that Linus fully expected and was willing to pay for repairs, but Apple wouldn’t accommodate him. Voiding the warranty because of trying to repair something yourself is clearly a violation of US law. As Trek of Joy says, not sure whether this is the case in Canada. Either way, it’s absurd. -
Okay, I'll go slow and easy. "The grip takes care of issues one and two" That's exactly the problem - with a camera of that size, there is no reason why Fuji could not have included a larger battery and headphone jack. I'm not comparing Fuji to anybody here. hehe As far as moire goes, to me, and several others here, it's one of the ugliest of artifacts; can appear anywhere; and is virtually impossible to remove from a video clip. afaik It was one of the things I disliked most about my GH3.

Not sure whether you read the title or watched the entire video, but Max clearly states that this is a videocentric review. Do you need to be reminded that Sony changed their battery and now it's possible to get over two hours on a single charge? Oh, and that darn headphone jack. Thing is, Fuji made their camera larger so most reviewers can't fathom why Fuji did what they did. And just because you or I don't shoot super slow mo of certain subjects or shoot longer than ten minutes, many others do. And while you may be unaware of this, moire can turn up in a pair of jeans, a blouse, any fabric, roofs of houses, anywhere. If you've got other priorities, fine. But let's argue with facts, not made-up stuff.

Let me ask - did you check out the videos on YouTube and Vimeo before posting? Lots of comparisons there as well. Because what others think is probably less important than watching actual videos yourself.

True enough.

Looking good! Great acting chops, too. ?

We’d like to see the results of that whenever you have time.
