  1. After thinking about it, I do think it unfair to accuse Panasonic of ripping off customers if the only consideration is RAW. But I know I’m in the minority here. ?

So anywhere from $4,000 to $20,000 apiece.
  3. All good points. As I said, just thinking out loud. First, super happy I can use my lenses on the camera without an adapter. If they used the same battery, that would have been the icing on the cake. I haven't preordered, but if I get the Pocket, I think I'd see this as a companion to my Panasonic cameras, not as a replacement. But who knows?
  4. Which reminds, me, in addition to the thousand other things I've screwed up, I've got to shoot B roll. Thanks.
  5. The pricing does seem unusual to me. This is like midrange consumer ILC territory, like the G85. When the original Pocket was released, it was selling for what, $995.00? And the GH3 retailed for $1,300.00 at the time I believe. So the Pocket was 30% less than the Panasonic. Now, the Pocket II is going up against the GH5s, so 50% less. And yet many think this is going to kill off not only the Lumix, but many of the lower end cinema cameras as well, at least for budget filmmaking. Before anyone goes off on me, I'm not knocking it, just thinking out loud.

Where did you see the pricing reported, may I ask? Link?
  7. Don't say that too loudly. But come on, not only have we not seen any footage yet, we've got no idea of the operability either. I'm hoping for the best too, however...
  8. @anonim That was pretty awesome. My criticisms would be: seriously over-sharpened; a bunch of blown highlights; I would have liked to have seen even shallower depth of field in many of the shots; and quite a bit of the footage looks bland, either because of the time of day, the grade, or both. The anamorphic stuff looks good.
  9. The jumping around is thanks to YT. I have noticed this on other YT videos as well. The captions are all centered on my timeline.
  10. Color wheels and curves fixed in 10.4.1? Not sure, because this YouTuber doesn't say what color space he's using and never compares results using the curves or sliders... The new closed caption feature is excellent for me though, since I can painlessly add text to interviews and upload them to YouTube.
  11. I'm guessing it'll be one or two more months. At least, with the original Pocket, I believe it was a few months before release that John Brawley uploaded the first sample footage. But as always, i could be mistaken. Not Pocket footage, but a comparison between the GH5 and the Ursa Mini Pro 4.6K is enlightening, if for nothing other than color science. Granted, Matthew's using Natural profile, 4K 60p, 100Mbps. And the crop is different between the two cameras. But it really makes me wish Panasonic would allow turning down sharpening and NR in the GH5.
  12. I wish it used the same battery as my piece of shit GH5.
  13. At least it was more ecologically responsible.
  14. My first camera was made of cardboard.
  15. After suffering that indignity, I swore I’d never buy another BMD product again.
  16. I got a free version of Resolve when purchasing the BMD Video Assist.

Pricing to be announced, no? Any how, a set of the best cine lenses in the world for 100k is a bargain. Devin Graham recently paid 1/4 million for a set of Leicas. ?
  18. I’m sure BMD has considered that, but moisture and dust entering there, and there would be a ton where I live, might not be so great. The fan in my room has to be cleaned every month, there is so much dust in the air here.
  19. Maybe it would be best to post your footage in the C200 thread or in the Shooting thread. This happens to be the GH5s Sample Footage thread. Thank you.
  20. That footage you just posted looks seriously oversharpened, harsh, contrasty and jittery. I suppose it would be difficult to achieve those results with the GH5, so I think you made the right choice.
