  1. Not attacking you, Mark. I respect your contributions.
  2. You’re right Mark. I should have replied in a more civil manner, like when this instigator tells people they must be on drugs if he doesn’t agree with their posts. You just don’t get it, do you? He intentionally uses words like garbage, junk and trash in order to offend people, not solely to describe image quality. Anyone who believes otherwise is deceiving themselves. Also, there is nothing wrong in asking to see the work of highly opinionated commentors. I think it could be very instructive. If someone has worked on the Marvel television series, that carries more weight with me than a person hurling offensive language behind a veil of anonymity. Keep up the good work.
  3. I find it stimulating trying to get the very best image I can from second-rate cameras.
  4. Here's an interview with Bob Caniglia of Blackmagic holding the Pocket 4K and Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8.

    NAB 2018

World's tiniest super 35mm cinema lenses? Would these interest anyone for $720 apiece? Not much information here, but the only coverage we have so far of Atlas' presence at NAB this year, at least until @DBounce shares his experiences.
  6. No showreel, zero credibility. Here he is again, dismissing the X-H1 as junk.
  7. But greater minds than yours don’t think the GH5/GH5s image is garbage: Paul Leeming, Matthew Scott, Hugh Brownstone, Bernard Bertrand, Andrew Reid, Luke Neumann, and Filippo Chiesa, to name just a few.
  8. Just curious - are there any before/after comparisons of AF online yet?
  9. There is no need to call any camera’s footage plastic looking garbage. No sensible person does this. It is offensive. Especially under the veil of anonymity, with no work to show.
  10. I know everyone is expecting another rant at this point, since this self-proclaimed authority on image quality just pretty much labeled all my footage as trash.... but I’m actually starting to find this irrational compulsion to smear Panasonic amusing. And I’m sure we’d all really like to see this charming fellow’s website, channel or showreel. Just to see what pro footage looks like. ?
  11. That's a bit like comparing apples to oranges, isn't it? I mean, the GH4 is a camera that you could rig out and shoot like a true cinema camera, while the Micro is like a super Go Pro on steroids with the ability to extract 13 stops of dynamic range. The ergos are also a bit tricky, with the side buttons all crowded together and flush to the body, while the GH4's larger, chunkier controls are easier to use, especially if you're wearing gloves. In what way is the build quality of the Micro better than the GH4? For anyone who's going to nitpick, I realize the Micro is not the same as a Go Pro.
  12. I'm not seeing it (the end of pixel peeping days, that is). You really talk like a fanboy, and we haven't even seen footage from the camera yet. And while I very well might buy it, because I think it's probably the cat's pajamas, and I happen to like the people at BMD, I'm not about to drool over a camera that won't be released for another five or six months. Outside of a handful of cool heads, this thread is becoming an echo chamber. Can't even make a joke without @cantsin getting all offended. FWIW, @cantsin, as you are now well aware, I already voiced my concern about the vents, and Andrew made a joke about it. I didn't take offense like you.
  13. There's plenty left, @IronFilm . Many need IBIS for their work. Many need eye detection. Many need reliable autofocus. Many need good weather sealing. Anamorphic de-squeeze. A tilting screen. Wifi. Smaller file sizes. The full frame look. Any number of things. There is no camera to rule them all - never was, never will be. Thought it was pretty clear. Next time I'll provide clarification by way of smiley faces.

    NAB 2018

    A big write-up, I hope!
  15. Andrew already said it's a patented water cooling system.
  16. @IronFilm That's a bold statement. Fanboy, not?
  17. In case you didn't notice, I was showing that it isn't about to happen. Just as there are reasons why filmmakers will continue to use traditional cinema cameras rather than mirrorless cameras.

@DBounce So did you ever make it to Booth # C9432?
  19. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, even if I don't understand it.
  20. I've got no idea whether this is relevant or not, or whether the question's already been answered, but John Brawley says
  21. Without meaning any disrespect, early sample footage, with few exceptions (eg the Arri LF), rarely gives any indication of what's possible or not with any given camera.
  22. Precisely. Paul Leeming has already promised to make a LUT for the Pocket 4K.
  23. Who needs to see footage. It's the best camera. Pre-order it!
