?. My bank must have just figured I was buying one Leica L mount lens every other day for three weeks.

A couple weeks ago I was preparing to make an estimated tax payment to the IRS when to my horror I discovered a ton of money had been withdrawn from my bank account over a period of weeks through what is known as ACH (clearing house) fraud. They’d been transferring huge amounts of cash on a daily basis. Fortunately for me, in the USA, provided you notify the bank within 60 days of the statement in which the disputed amounts appear, you’re entitled to a reimbursement within ten days of up to $250,000 per account. In Vietnam, it’s capped at $2,500. And in other countries, you must give notice much sooner than 60 days - or consumer protection is all but non-existant! Facebook, Yahoo, Google and probably just about everyone else on the planet has had security breaches. Equifax, the largest credit reporting agency in the States, was hacked last year, leading to the personal information of 150 million Americans being leaked. This, in spite of the fact that they’d been warned repeatedly by the government that there were holes in their security. The thing is, Equifax, Experian and Transunion all stand to profit hundreds of millions of dollars selling extra services each time there is a breach. So they have little incentive to patch them up. They even had the audacity to charge $10.00 to put a freeze on credit reports until the government stepped in. What a cash grab - just imagine: 150,000,000 citizens paying ten dollars each to safeguard their credit! So remember to use strong passwords and make sure they’re different on every account. Change them regularly. Use a good anti-virus app like bitdefender and install a VPN on all your devices. If your bank offers text notifications for transactions, sign up for them. Check your credit report annually. And if you notice a few pennies deposited in your bank account for no reason, notify your bank immediately.

I forgot to add ‘no breathing’ to the growing list I’m compiling of Nikon’s advantages over Sony so I can be miserable and sulk all day long.

KR says: I've never shot with Nikon, so have no idea whether his statement that most shooters are using the older design AF lenses is true or not. I did just do a search for AF-S mount lenses over at B&H and turned up a whole bunch, so maybe Ken was a being a little tongue-in-cheek.

Superior adapted lens support is one of the reasons KR rates the EOS R so highly. Sony GM lenses are pretty pricey no doubt.

Even if we were to concede faster and more reliable AF, smoother IBIS, one to two stops greater dynamic range and 10-bit external, it would still be another twelve months before I could get my hands on a Z6 (Z7 is too rich for my blood) assuming I placed my order today - and several years before equivalents to the Sony 24mm f/1.4, 35mm f/1.4, 16-35mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.4 and 85mm f/1.8 or the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 are released - years during which Sony will presumably have added dozens of new lenses to their lineup and introduced bodies with even greater dynamic range and faster AF than the Z cameras. So I think it would make little sense to invest in Nikon at this point. And if it’s true that most new Nikon lenses won’t AF with the adapter, it would probably be better for current Nikon shooters to hold onto their D850s. And for pretty much the same reasons, if I were to put all my eggs into an APS-C system, I’d probably choose Fuji. Sony has shown a complete disregard for the a6*** series, while at the same time, Fuji has improved by leaps and bounds in just a couple generations and continues to design sensational glass. Two or three hundred new Nikon lenses that AF with the FTZ adapter? I don’t think so. Have you had a look at this chart?

So you’re saying Ken Rockwell is mistaken when he writes: Only a small percentage of the lenses Nikon sells new today actually autofocus on the FTZ, so sad.

Is it true that AF only works with a very small percentage of Nikon lenses currently in production with the FTZ adapter?

Why not an APS-C Z6 for $800? ?

Every YouTuber should be so bold as to get sent a review copy then immediately release a video of the fifty reasons why to buy the competition’s camera. In general, what I’m also seeing is that favorable reviews and tests tend to get republished, quoted and shared on other blogs, websites and forums far more often than unvavorable ones.

My understanding was that IS Video Lock was for when you wanted it to look as though the camera was on a tripod, so panning would definitely not be advisable.

And if a person is such an authority, they should be able to convince with facts - not make up stories about Sareesh not disclosing information about the camera he's using.

The AF-On and AEL buttons are a bit shallow and don't give a lot of feedback, and I think it was Chris who pointed out that he doesn't like buttons to the left of the EVF, which I happen to agree with. And the lens release button is next to impossible for me to comfortably reach. Of course, the grip is too small. And I've asked before why it takes so many steps to do a custom WB: #1. Press C1 button #2. Scroll past presets 1, 2 and 3 until 'set' appears #3. click on 'set' #4. point camera at something white and depress center of wheel #5. Save the custom white balance to a preset. And since I always do custom white balance, it's a little aggravating. I'd just like to be able to click on C1, have the target appear, press the center of the wheel and be done.

Funny, because Blackmagic considered Sareesh to be knowledgeable enough to entrust him with a loaner. Now suddenly he doesn’t even know the basics of photography? John Brawley says over at bmcuser that Sareesh failed to disclose that he had a pre-production unit - but in fact, Sareesh discloses in the very first minute of his review the firmware version he’s using and that he fully expected many of the issues he experienced would most likely be resolved before the camera ever reached retailers’ shelves. That sounds fairly even-handed to me. Over 755 viewers have found his review helpful and the overwhelming number of the 255 comments on his video praise his work. But a handful of forum members are going to smear his name because they don’t agree with him.

For those interested in detailed lab test results, here are reviews of the Z7 and a7rIII. The Nikon does appear to have a one to two stop advantage in video when it comes to dynamic range.
