  1. Max seldom makes just one video about a major release. He will certainly be coming out with more tests and comparisons of the a7 III over the next few weeks. He will most likely also do a long-term review in several months.
  2. Max says the camera runs much cooler, had no overheating issues.
  3. I want this camera so badly, but I’ve already got $7,000 tied up in my Fuji X-T2 system and it looks like I’ll be getting the Veydra X-mounts next week after all. So now it’s just on my dream list.

I was told by a senior member at dvxuser that Ryan’s no longer with Veydra, but that I should contact him anyway as he’s willing to help. So I have. Update: Ryan just emailed to say the X-mounts are in stock and that he’d see that I got them asap. And it does indeed appear as though he is no longer with Veydra.
  5. some minor stuff that probably shouldn’t concern a videographer. ?
  6. Will the a7 III cannibalize sales of the a7r III?

I hope so, @Mat Mayer. Not the kissing part though - just the lens mounts. ?
  8. No mention at all of overheating in any of the hands-on we’ve seen so far, so I don’t think it will even be an issue.
  9. @sam I defer to your better judgement. ??? I guess I’ve got bad taste, because Chef’s Table and the popular Korean TV drama The Slave Hunters were both shot on Red and I loved them both.
  10. it actually refers to ‘amour Canon’ more than the other shenanigans. If the OP wants an open and frank discussion about mojo, why load the topic with references to his fav label? I could just as easily have written ‘I hear lots of love in this forum for cameras like the GH5, the NX1, the BMPCC, the Digital Bolex...’
  11. So... reasons why you would choose Sony over Fuji? I believe you’ve owned both, am I right? Sorry to put you on the spot...
  12. I thought you sold your X-T2? Didn’t you own one? Sorry, can’t keep track of everyone!
  13. @Django First, not trolling! Just want to know, is there truly ‘touch to focus’ on the X-H1, because I heard otherwise. Pls don’t be upset for my asking. I genuinely want to know.
  14. @Yurolov‘s comment about people being ‘obsessed’ with 10-bit is in itself an indication that he does not understand the topic. I do not see anyone here obsessed with anything. Obsession implies being fixated on something, not being able to rid oneself of a particular idea - and I would refrain from characterizing anyone in this thread that way. The OP asked how important 10 bit is, and the answer is, in some cases very, in others, not.
  15. No rules at all against conjecture, @Tim Sewell. Thanks for your invaluable contribution to the thread.

Could just be my crappy bank. ?
  17. C’mon now. Backyard flower shooters? Most filmmakers who complain about 8-bit are idiots, in other words? Or nature photographers are somehow inferior? @Deadcode‘s comments about ‘most EOSHD shooters’ is nothing if not condescending. What in the hell are you talking about? no name, no face, no portfolio, no show reel, no website, no Vimeo channel? Zero credibility.
  18. I think you are way off the mark, since you are neither an economist nor an engineer. And what relevance do predictions about what will or will not take place in a decade have to do with the here and now? We’re talking 10-bit, 2018, not holograms and virtual reality in the 22nd century.
  19. @Deadcode Right. Log is for losers. All EOSHD forum members shoot flowers. We all blame our equipment for our failures. Thank you for adding to the discussion.

No, I haven’t yet, but I will. Removing the charges from my credit card will involve deactivating my card and having my bank issue a new one, then having my sister send it to me in Vietnam. So I’m waiting till I’ve finished preparing my taxes, since I’ll need it to pay my preparer. So maybe next week.
