  1. Another sad carryover from the X-T2. From DPReview: This process is slowed still further by the absence from the shutter speed dial of the movie-optimized shutter speeds: if you want to use 1/48th of a second to shoot 24p, it means turning the shutter dial to 1/60th and then turning the rear command dial two clicks to engage it. Two dials to do something as basic as changing shutter speed is just too much! And I’m guessing no shutter angle option either.
  2. @Frank5 Remember, the GH5s has ETC mode, so you are effectively getting two focal lengths for the price of one.
  3. They already do - the X-T2. It cost me $1,500 new.
  4. Have you been following the thread? Did you watch cinema 5D’s coverage? It’s buggier than the X-T2 was.
  5. That’s already been posted. He fails to mention the half-dozen bugs you get for free.
  6. @Frank5 It’s been a long while since I used the 18-35 bcs it’s too darn heavy for me, and I’ve never done any comparisons. If you want some economical primes, you can’t go wrong with either lens. I never shoot AFC. May I ask why you shoot interviews with such a short focal length though? Just curious.
  7. That's probably the best solution: the Sigma 18-35 is a superb instrument and with a speedbooster, you'll get insane low light ability.
  8. I guess I have to answer a question with another question: have you ever shot with the GH5 or the X-T2?
  9. Marketing is all about selling an image.
  10. I think the fastest native micro 4/3 zooms all start at f/2.8, so you might be better off with a couple of primes if you’re really after shallow depth of field with such modest focal lengths. I can only talk about lenses I’ve used myself, and the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN and 30mm f/1.4 DC DN are both remarkable and reasonably priced. Longer focal lengths I’d recommend are the Sigma 60mm f/2.8 and the Olympus 75mm f/2.8.
  11. @Django True enough I suppose. I really dug Palle Schultz’s insights. Interesting fellow.
  12. Appreciate the Cinema5D one the most so far, because he mentions the expected bugs - distorted audio monitoring, focus assist not returning to full view after checking focus in manual mode, camera freezes when adjusting audio levels with an external mic attached, when tapping on touch screen to focus, sometimes the camera will unexpectedly start recording instead. Still no mention of the most critical of features for videographers - ample exposure tools.
  13. I don’t care much for adapters tbh. I might try another test with the PL 12 or 42.5.
  14. @Emanuel No, the DC DN native micro 4/3 mount. I’m not saying there’s no improvement, just that it isn’t reliable enough for me, unless I were to do several takes anyhow.
  15. It comes with a guard for the HDMI cable and you can switch your Fuji lens focus rings from linear to nonlinear, which might come in handy. I still prefer the LCD display on the GH5, and the video prioritized information display is far more useful to me than the shoulder display on the X-H1. It looks like the X-H1 doesn’t depart significantly from the philosophy of the X-T2 as far as the display is concerned.
  16. I shot a test myself this morning with the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 at f/2.2, custom AF settings at +1, +3, 29.97p, 179 degree shutter angle and face detect AF. It’s pretty hit or miss. I wouldn’t rely on it for critical work. Maybe works better with Panny lenses. Or shoot several takes and pray. Certainly you’d want to double check focus with an external monitor.
  17. @AaronChicago What monitor are you using? How many nits?
  18. If cropping was the only issue, I’d have bought ten Fuji cameras by now.
  19. Everyone says 179 is the magic number, not 120, so invalid test.
