Advice on eBay anamorphic lens listing (No advertising)
premini replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Another "baby". http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yashica-Scope-8mm-Anamorphic-Lens-1x1-5-/251591742079?pt=DE_Foto_Camcorder_Objektive&hash=item3a9409527f -
Panasonic GH4 footage shot with the EOSHD Shooter's Guide Cinema Settings
premini replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
I really dont see these images as cinematic. I think we're back in the "how to grade h264 to look like cinema" discussion again. This blog convinced me that shooting 2x anamorphic raw in 4:3 ratio with my 5d3 was "the shit" and i still believe it, Honest question: Why should I consider all this new buzz? Detail? i can see its there, but is only noticeable when you do a 300% crop, Dont get me wrong, i embrace 4k, but at the cost of going back to a lousy codec and poor bit depth... nope, ill pass. -
maybe some pics.,,, i am interested as well.
-
Slight digression... go see the "NO" movie from Chile, its recorded in old U Matic and is a chromatic aberration fest!
-
He is deliberately not mentioning the original adapter brand, is that to not reveal the overpricing or what?
-
So... what would be a fair price for it?
-
Hi, i have a BMPCC with a set of very small and nice Switar lenses and i am loving this compact setup. . Now i am looking for an anamorphic adapter.or lens that has some characteristics that allow me to keep things small and manageable,: 1. Small - dont want a lens support or something bulky. 2. Focus Through - I am tired of double focusing.:) 3. 1.5x or 2x, i love oval bokeh. . Is there such a thing? The iscorama 36 maybe?
-
Apparently somebody bought the Iscorama.
-
Maybe its because the people just got tired of dual focusing and are selling their adapters for cheap with the hope of getting 1,5x or 2x squeeze with single focus, I am one of these people :)
-
An interesting test...

These babies continue to go up.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Iscorama-pre-36-anamorphic-w-paired-50mm-F2-8-Nikon-lens-Amazing-condition-/221397630307?ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1120

I find the ratio variation annoying, i prefer to do dual focus with my good old elmoscope.

A pretty extensive review

I wish we could have some sort of global network in which Letus could share video tests of its products with the people.

Really nice and sharp! Question, my only problem is with the blue flare, could they make a less sci fi version wirh a not so blue coating? ask them andrew! :) -
Amazing! i think the Bolex has the best flares i've seen in an anamorphic lens. I NEED one :) I have one question, have you used any LUT of filmconvert in Resolve?
-
thanks, and sorry for my lazyness :)
-
is that (strength - range of distances) mapping based on the minimum focal range of the taking lens or is it a constant?
-
is the difference in quality from Canon 5000d and Tokina .04 noticeable?
-
Hello experts, any thoughts on this diopter? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Century-Optics-Optics-AD-7220-2-0-Achromatic-Diopter-72mm-w-Original-Box-/231038158880?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35caf28820

Anyone?
-
So... should i wait to see if the slr companion lenses to see if they are any good and if not, buy some of these expensive suckers, Do you concur?
-
Hello guys, i've been reading this thread because is my intention to buy an achromat to improve the sharpness and close range of my Elmoscope Ii. After reading all is sitll unclear to me if there are cheaper and decent alternatives to the tokina achromats. i would be happy to spent 200 bucks but not the 500 they are asking for the tokinas. The front element for the Elmo is 60mm. Any advice? Thanks!

New SLR Magic prototype anamorphic lens footage surfaces
premini replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Not a fan of these flares, they look very harsh. Other than that it looks very nice, specially the bokeh.
