I just finished a video that is a collection of shots from my trip to Tehran during May of 2016. I hope you enjoy some of the sights I captured of this beautiful city. GH4 4k Baby Hypergonar 1.75x anamorphic with Linos MeVis 35mm f1.6 and the Zeiss Ultron 50mm f1.8. Rectilux 3FF-S, Marumi + 3 achromatic diopter and Fujinon ENG 72mm close up lens. Edited in Adobe Premiere and colored using Colorista III.

Nature of Iran - Baby Hypergonar - 4k ultra wide 3.31:1
Ian Edward Weir replied to Ian Edward Weir's topic in Cameras
Thanks Rudolf! I shoot my nature footage in Scenery mode with GH4 and the Baby Hypergonar does the rest. The MeVis 35mm f1.6 and 50mm f1.8 Zeiss Ultron really pushes the Baby Hyperogonar as well. Cheers! -
Nature of Iran - Baby Hypergonar - 4k ultra wide 3.31:1

Funny that you ask. I have a few spots on my GH4 sensor from shooting outdoors so much so all my footage is shot between f2-f4 with a fast shutter. I like this look because of the added DOF and how it captures the nature. Thanks for checking it out! -
Shot with Panasonic GH4 in cinematic DCI 4K 4096x2160 in ultra wide 3.31:1 anamorphic ratio.. Lens used were the Baby Hypergonar 1.75x anamorphic with MeVis 35mm f1.6 and the Zeiss Ultron 50mm f1.8. Rectilux 3FF-S, Marumi + 3 achromatic diopter and Fujinon ENG 72mm close up lens. Edited in Adobe Premiere and colored in Colorista III and Adobe Lightroom.

Footage of Rectilux Core DNA with Baby Hypergonar
Ian Edward Weir replied to Ian Edward Weir's topic in Cameras
Hello, I'm not sure what you mean? Here is an article on the Recilux 3FF-W. http://www.newsshooter.com/2016/01/27/real-anamorphic-for-less-the-rectilux-3ff-w-single-focus-adapter-reviewed/ I have the Core DNA, which has a 75mm thread and can take lens of that size or smaller by locking down with grub screws. I also have a 3FF-S for baby anamorphic lens but I don't know much about the 3FF-W. All the Recilux adapters are very nice and have made shooting with any anamorphic lens I choose look good! Worth the money for me. Super sharp and no loss of image quality and no silly blue blobs. Unless your into that sort of thing -
I have the version one. I also have the 17.5mm and the 42.5mm. The 42.5mm can be clickless, which is nice. They are all worth the money. I see the 25mm go cheaper on ebay then the others.
-
My all time favorite lens I have used is the Zeiss Ultron 50mm f1.8. Sharpness, colors, bokeh and character is amazing! Lots of others lens I would like to try on this list. Voigtlander 40mm f2 would be one I would like to try. I have the Voigtlander 25mm 0.95 and it's lovely.

Thanks for pointing that out. I just leaned that the Power O.I.S lens do work a little better then the Mega O.I.S. I look forward to seeing a video showing how it looks with non O.I.S lens.
-
In camera stabilization with a none O.I.S lens looks good! Check out 0:52 to 1:02. He is using the kit lens. It would be even better with O.I.S LENS

Here is one on ebay for a starting bid of $900. Nobody even bid on it last time. http://www.ebay.com/itm/FULL-KIT-Bolex-Moller-8-19-1-5x-Anamorphot-Anamorphic-amp-Redstan-Clamp-/322064478026?&_trksid=p2056016.m2516.l5255

A very nice Baby Hypergonar anamorphic / Cinemascope lens in great shape! This lens has a 1.75x ratio which is true CinemaScope and when used on a 4:3 sensor, it produces a 2.33:1 Resulting Aspect Ratio. I don't see any scratches, mold or haze in lens. Very macro cleaning scratches, which don't show up in footage or pictures. Lens in in great shape for 60+ years old. It comes with custom Rapido clamp for connecting lens to taking lens. The clamp connects to a 52mm thread but with different step up rings you can change this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Baby-Hypergonar-Anamorphic-Cinemascope-lens-Rare-Great-condition-Rapdo-clamp-/281981378426?

I'm not sure if this was posted before but it is an incredible resource for aspect ratio templates Cheers! http://vashivisuals.com/3k-4k-5k-6k-aspect-ratio-free-templates-premiere-and-after-effects/#comment-42309

I can tell you the pros and cons between the Core DNA and SRL Magic Rangefinder. I don't own the 3FF The Rangefinder and Rectilux each have there strengths. Rangefinder : Pros - Is built better then Rectilux. Feels more solid and does not make any noise when rotating. Rotating gear is much smoother. You could get it with distance marks. 82mm is easily to mange then 86mm via diopters. 77mm is very nice when connecting to anamorphic verses 75mm but I was lucky it fit my Redstan Baby Hypergonar jacket perfect! Half the price of Core DNA. Rectilux Core DNA : Image quality is better, sharper and does not tint the image on the warm side. The Core DNA is tac sharp at 1.2 and the Rangefinder needs 2.8 or higher. I'm not a big fan of Rangefinder blue flare blobs. The Core has a non rotating front, which is important to me for a circular polarizer and ND filters being I love shooting nature. For me it was well worth the extra cash. A short video I shot with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zS1pw5p7yc&list=PLIEXyH1Xyq4ToDcZ0ZVCl6bVk060hc_O-&index=3 Here is a list of extras I have compiled to take the Core DNA to the next level. I would highly recommend getting these extras to make the Core DNA ready for use. 1. M3/M4 Stainless Steel Nylon Head Grub Screw Plastic Brake Buffer Bolt Screws Hex This is so you don’t scratch up the coating of your anamorphic lens or housing. http://www.ebay.com/itm/281858121964?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=580836260280&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT 2. 86mm UV filter to protect the front of the Core DNA glass. 3. Metal back cap for whatever size you end up using for your coupler if bigger then 75mm. 4. A custom coupler made from this lens hood fits perfectly. “FOTGA Screw Mount 67mm Standard Metal Lens Hood for Canon Nikon Pentax Sony Olympus” http://www.amazon.com/FOTGA-Screw-Standard-Pentax-Olympus/dp/B009GFY858 Then a step down ring or step up ring for whatever the size of your front anamorphic thread is. I’m doing 77mm because this is what most of my front clamps are. I’m making a custom 75mm to 77mm coupler for Kowa 1.5x and Kowa 1.75x. 5. 86mm Fixed Spacer Ring http://srb-photographic.co.uk/86mm-fixed-spacer-ring-5713-p.asp You want a uv filter to protect the glass but having it on you can’t completely go to infinity. Lucky, even with the uv filter on and not being able to turn the Core DNA to infinity, I’m sharp for over 100 feet. This spacer is for clearing the full range of the focus and using filters. 6. You want to get some 86mm or higher diopters. You need them if you want to get sharp and close.

You can get to 0.7 meters or 2 feet 3 inches. I use a 86mm +0.6 and a +0.26 in front for close ups. -

Here is my first test with my run and gun anamorphic set up. Shot on a GH4 in 4k with natural profile. Lens used were Baby Hypergonar anamorphic + LINOS MeVis-C 35mm F1.6 Most of it shot at f1.6 or f2.8 Rectilux Core DNA with +0.6 diopter on close ups. No sharping or noise reduction.. I hope you like. The images at the end I really love. The Rectilux is a dream but you diopters to get sharp below 2 feet.
-
You said 77mm. The Tokina 72mm is amazing and worth the money for a great low power diopter. I own a +0.25, +0.4, +1, +2.6, +3 and +10. They all have different purposes. You should do yourself a favoir and save money by getting a Rectilux Core DNA variable diopter or SRL Magic Rangefinder. Then you would only need +2 or higher for closeups or macro. The more you put in front of a 2x anamorphic, the longer your taking lens will need to be to avoid vignetting.

Marumi 77mm 77 DHG Macro +3 330 Achromat Achromatic Close up Lens. Super sharp and very nice quality. If you want to have a nice close up. I use it with Baby Hypergonar in picture below. http://www.amazon.com/Marumi-Macro-Achromat-Achromatic-Filter/dp/B003VHN1SC

Here is my first test with my Kowa PA - 35 Inflight 1.75x anamorphic lens. I used three different taking lens. 1. Olympus Zuiko 38mm f1.8 2. Zeiss Ultron 50mm f1.8 and the Voigtlander 42.5mm f0.95. I love this lens. I love the single coating and the way it flares and how it transforms the character of the taking lens so well. I hope you enjoy this vintage anamorphic lens porn my friends. Watch in 4k. cheers! Ian

I'm in love with the look of the Kowa 35 1.75x Inflight shot in 4k 3840x2160 in 16:9 mode on GH4. Here is my first test with a pretty lady I know walking around three different taking lens. 1. Olympus Zuiko 38mm f1.8 2. Zeiss Ultron 50mm f1.8 and the Voigtlander 42.5mm f0.95. I love this lens.
