  1. It was that or make a new thread, nah, I pick the 2017 bump! ha
  2. The Shogun Inferno seems to be a popular choice with the Varicam LT
  3. Have you tried a different cable and a different powerbank? Those would be my #1 guesses for the source of your problem.
  4. Someone over on Reddit has just purchased their first cinema camera, a F35! https://www.reddit.com/r/cinematography/comments/bm6qqh/after_much_research_ive_bought_my_first_cinema/ "
  5. Does it even output 10bit over HDMI?? Probably does, but I wouldn't want to assume it! Don't think that using a Ninja V is the right approach to recording with a Varicam LT

    Nikon 8K?

I'm sure Ami wasn't using that! He is a brand ambassador for Nikon. While that doesn't mean he *MUST* use Nikon (so maybe he used a RED 8K??), it does however mean the chances is next to nil that he was using a brand new prototype Canon 8K cinema camera for a high profile spot.
  7. I recall accessing it via LAN, but I probably tried over WiFi as well. Anyway, kinda low on my priority list at the moment to get it going, however I'll keep that in mind for next time I try.
  8. I'd often struggle to simply even log into the web browser page to configure it, sometimes I'd get in... often it just wouldn't
  9. You'd hope Zoom would support as wide as possible range of companies. But I won't hold my breath. (I own both systems anyway) As Zoom supported B format decoding for Sennheiser AMBEO, but has done nothing for Rode NT-SF1
  10. Ninja V? The LT doesn't output raw over HDMI Shogun Inferno is what you'd want
  11. Try doing a 10hr day on set with half a dozen of these and all kinds of unpredictable actions by actors. You'll be wishing for the less hassle of a locking connector pretty soon.
  12. Am watching the WWDC recap videos. Am mostly just finding it to be really funny! Seeing as lots of this stuff they are calling AMAZING, well Android has had it for ages....... still, good job Apple in putting in the effort to catch up!
  13. Paging @BTM_Pix.... https://jwsoundgroup.net/index.php?/topic/33053-zoom-f6-a-32bit-recorder/&do=findComment&comment=361136
  14. Kinda killed a lot of reasons to consider a secondhand old Arri Alexa if a new Varicam LT is the same price! Media for it is insanely expensive. Unless recording externally.
  15. Aside from BTM_Pix, who else has got this working? I'll admit I never did, but then again I've mostly forgotten about this for months and months as I've been elsewhere busy with life! Should take another look into make it work for me.
  16. That is definitely a step in the right direction, like Sound Devices uses. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Getting good sound is waaaaaaay more than just getting good levels! Nifty! Zoom has already paired with TCS before for their Ambisonics mic/recorder. https://jwsoundgroup.net/?app=core&module=system&controller=content&do=find&content_class=forums_Topic&content_id=33053&content_commentid=361111
  17. Hopefully Panasonic realizes it makes more sense to cannibalize your products, than to let someone else do it. Like Sony did with the FS7 vs F5 (or F35 vs F23, or F3 vs F35, or F55/F5 vs F3, etc). Also the Panasonic Varicam S35/LT are kinda getting old ish, so although they're still very capable and relevant, perhaps time for an update?
  18. SDI outputs, timecode input, and built in NDs, that is what I want to see! Even a Nikon D5 body looks small next to the already teeny EVA1
  19. Because it is a STUDIO camera. They clue is literally in its name...
  20. The Sony FS700 was a popular camera for its time. The FS700 was the #1 choice by far for low budget super slow motion filming. And the FS700 was the #2 choice behind the C300 mk1 for a low/mid ish budget camera for general purpose.
  21. This wouldn't be branded as "LUMIX" However the original Varicam S35 did come out a fair few years ago, might be time it is updated?
  22. I would have gone for the Micro or the OG Pocket over the BMD Studio camera
  23. Even the wording in the phrase "full frame" is itself one of the biggest marketing wins Canikon has ever pulled off! Making many newbie (and not so newbie!) photographers (has leaked over and infected filmmakers too) feel inadequate if they have anything less than their "full" frame.
  24. Don't understand a word! But yes, looks like it was fun Guessing this here is the final product:
  25. It was already very concerning when they didn't release the EVA1 with a MFT option :-/
