    Bane voice

Saves the boom op from having to swing over to catch "Bane's" voice Depends on how bad the camera audio is. What if you're doing a car shoot, or outdoors on a windy day
  2. You might not need it, someone else might not need it right now, but it is handy to have it there, the full range of options: 8bit, 10bit, raw! Plus it is Nikon, it is always going to be more than just the spec sheet
  3. Yes, that is why I am hoping for a Samurai V As that could then be combined with the TC AtomX module
  4. Not if you want AF in 4K!! Bit rate is at times a bit less important than the codecs used. As there are poor compressions, and there are inefficient compressions. And Canon is infamous for using awful ones in the 4K DSLRs, which leads to bloated overly large file sizes. I'll take the 10bit 422 option instead please!
  5. Don't view it as an "internal battery", but as a BONUS which always you do to hotswaps of the external battery on the fly. If only the FS700 had a timecode input then I'd be even keener on it than I already am. I saw a FS700 on sale locally in my city for cheap last week, but I foolishly thought I'd "sleep on it" before going ahead and buying it. Woke up to find it had been sold already.... ah well Or even just sell the exact same OG BMPCC but at the old $500 sale price again! I bet it would sell like hotcakes once again, even in 2019.
  6. Shoot ProResLT with the BMPCC and all that becomes quite more reasonable indeed They're identical sensors, just the BMPCC is a bit smaller

    Bane voice

Yes. I'd record it. With a lav on "Bane" Will make the life of the picture editor and the ADR editor and the actor himself, much easier later on to have this reference point when it comes to such things as timing.
  8. I put "He" in brackets, as odds are decent it isn't even a human but is a bot.
  9. But unless it includes the :Blink network timecode systems in the SDI module, then the set up wouldn't be as good as a "Samurai V" (with a TC AtomX module)
  10. I have filmed weddings with an OG BMPCC, and yeah it got warm! But never overheated and shut down. And the vast majority of the time I reckon ProResHQ is a better choice practically speaking than raw
  11. In my case I am asking: "Why the fvck won't you make a Samurai V????" (as that is my dream, a Ninja V but with SDI instead of HDMI) M.2 SSD please! Small is beautiful
  12. The Barber School is only two blocks away from my home! Which means an awful lot of clutter on the first page! (and the 2nd, and the 3rd.... etc) Won't happen. "He" is a spammer.
  13. If you're a newbie, with no professional aspirations, and you want to buy outright, then HitFilm Pro is a clear leading contender you should consider. https://fxhome.com/hitfilm-pro https://www.facebook.com/groups/426174967509293/
  14. Did you miss out on all the news of the 4K 10bit output then raw video from the Nikon Z6??? Not sure how an EOSHD reader could be unaware of that Personally I see there is no chance whatsoever that the surely more expensive and possibly mythical (I have my doubts we'll see it in 2019) Sony a7Smk3 will have this
  15. Maaaaaybe the X-T30 will get a firmware update for 4K 60fps 10bit after the X-T4 comes out? ? ? I have my fingers crossed for a DX version of the Nikon Z6, priced like a Nikon D7500 or cheaper I literally described myself as a Vulcan to my date last night
  16. Also if you're just starting out from scratch, then you could really begin with any DAW in the world as you'd be a beginner with all of them. Thus I'd suggest you learn Reaper instead which is a fully featured DAW, over Audition
  17. If you're passionate about sound and filmmaking, you hang out on forums like this, and you've hobbled together your own kit, and you're keen and pay attention to stay on top of the ball during the shoot, then you're almost certainly their best option when it comes to sound on unpaid student/indie films. Once you've got the experience of a few of those under your belt, then even if you're asking one or two hundred bucks for the day for a short film, we'll you're likely still their best option. And I'd then done heaps at this lower level, before I even got to doing many jobs at anything close to "pro rates". It's a natural progression up. You can play around with your gear, watch youtube videos, and read manuals, but in the end it is really hard to get experience on set without actually being on a film set. But that is where all those many student/indie no budget film shoots come into play, they're great learning/testing grounds when starting out. THIS! I've been on so so many shoots every year. And when not working, I'm still consumed with my obsession, learning from forums/youtube/manuals/textbooks. Yeah, people will often re-hire a person based more on liking them than on their actual abilities. So is good to not just focus on your abilities (which is very important to improve as well!) but also just being a likeable person that others enjoy working with.
  18. I get my haircuts for free! (life tip: go along to a Barber School) The cost for spamming is very very very very VERY low, likely it is getting posted by the thousands by bots across many many forums. Thus you only need an extremely small % to click the link, and an even smaller percentage to buy the items, to make the spamming profitable.
  19. I bet by the end of this year, once a few secondhand X-T30 show up, and secondhand Atomos Ninja V start to show up cheap too, then this will be a hell of a combo! It certainly is something I'll be keeping a close eye on. Much less than on the Sony a6x00 series cameras!
  20. Yup, you might not be as good as you want to be (I always want to be even better!), but if you can be the best they've ever had then that is still something you can feel good about!
  21. Hey now, don't be so judgmental, some of us are poor Egyptians who can't afford more than one account for us!
