No news yet of if the X-T30 will get internal 10bit like the X-T3??
-
Why are they getting deleted???? :-o Because it will harm Amazon sales?? (but people would just buy something else anyway)
-
The Canon C500 needed fans as well to make the camera semi usuable for 4K filming, adding external fans was a popular DIY mod for the C500.
-
Step one: Return the camera. Step two: Buy a Panasonic. Step three: Profit!
-
I'd like Panasonic to bring the swagger back for 2019!! Imagine what a G90 might be like? Would be finally getting 10bit internal in a low end camera? I'm inclined to think "yes", seeing as the likes of cheap ish cameras such as the Fuji X-T3 and BMPCC4K have it. So perhaps the G90 will have 4K 30fps internal (or at least external!), plus FHD 120fps 8bit (seeing as slow motion is also becoming very commonplace as well), and finally maybe just one more random video feature as a treat for us (v-log? waveforms? timecode?). If you could buy a space rocket or a fire truck for the same price as a Canon M50 then I bet their sales would go through the roof.

Yes! Here is the old Nikon D5200, vs some even older full frame cameras: https://www.dxomark.com/Cameras/Compare/Side-by-side/Nikon-D5200-versus-Canon-EOS-5D-Mark-II-versus-Canon-EOS-5D___850_483_176 Or look at the old Nikon D5200 again, but vs the Canon 5D mk3 for video: https://www.eoshd.com/2013/02/nikon-d5200-vs-canon-5d-mark-iii/ https://www.eoshd.com/2013/02/nikon-d5200-review/ It is not about the lens (and there are plenty of other great 70-200 lenses out there you could choose from elsewhere other than Canon), but about the entire ecosystem which is Canon. (specifically though, their cameras) Yeah, I wouldn't recommend targeting a 6D or 5Dmk2 as cameras to save up for. (or any other Canon really....) Like @heart0less said about the 5Dmk2: Shoot the OG BMPCC in raw then denoise in DaVinci Resolve and you can go easily to 1600 ISO at least. Be unwise to invest in Canon M lenses when Canon has so clearly signaled that is going to be a dead end mount, which surely is only a matter of time until they kill it off.
-
I'd recommend you sell the 70-200mm lens rather than get sucked into the blackhole of disappointment which is Canon. For what kind of shooting? Stills? Video? Sports? Landscape? If for photography only then the Nikon D700 can be found for well under $500, or for a little over $500ish then the Nikon D800 can be picked up. If going for video, then I'd say forget about so called "full frame"! And go for a Panasonic G85

I thought Kinefinity's speedbooster mount wouldn't work on their Mavo LF but only their S35 cameras?
-
I do agree EOS-M is a dead end, but I doubt we'll see a M to RF adapter
-
Well d'oh, of course it is. Mirrorless will in the long term replace DSLRs. (the biggest worry should be for EOS-M users, as clearly the EOS-M system is in the mid term headed to dodo land) My money is on them joining the RF system, maybe not the next generation of C series, but it will happen eventually. Odds are likely is what they'll do is the same as Sony with Venice, which is having E mount as a "sub mount" underneath it all. But of course RF in Canon's case instead.

In my eyes the G9 was a complete break from the past history of the G series. The G series has traditionally been a lower priced option to the GH flagship While the G9 was positioned as another equal flagship to the GH series, but photography focused instead of for filmmakers. Thus a G85 successor in the theme of the traditional G series line up is still lacking
-
Yeah most people when walking around (unless ultra uber skilled) will be having bigger bumps in their walk than IBIS can handle (which is only very very small adjustments in comparison)
-
DIY would be smaller. Split the mono to stereo, attach a resistor to one, then wire a stereo jack at the end for the camera input.
-
What is far more overdue than a GH5 successor, is where the bloody hell is the G85 successor????????????
-
If anybody wants cheap but decent quality rechargeable 9V batteries then buy Soshine 9V direct from China, after much experimentation, it is what I ended up settling on to power all my older Lectrosonics gear Agreed, you should have just gone straight to the VMP

Fstoppers moved to Puerto Rico. Have you had the desire to move?

You might think it is "quiet".... but just wait until the dragwars start up! If you're right up close to the action you will even be able to feel an earthquake under your feet. But isn't an earthquake, that is just Top Fuel racing. -
Got to agree with all that advice
-
It will happen one day. Either from Metabones for $$$$$$$, or a chinese company (but he might need to raise a bit of noise to pressure them to make this product, as it might not be an innovation they'll just spontaneously come up with otherwise).
-
The Rode Micro plus 3.5mm pre amp will likely be as big if not even bigger than just getting a Rode VMP I haven't had a great experience with Saramonic as a brand, but they're dirt cheap enough not to care if it doesn't work out for you.
-
If you are already stuck within the Canon ecosystem with your lenses, and just want basic 1080 with DPAF, then why not buy a Canon C100 again? (they're cheap as chips now on eBay!) Stick with that until C200/C300mk2 prices full down to earth, or Canon decides to finally finally give us a half decent stills camera for filming with.
-
I mean, is that all you're using? As if you're using something else, like a Rode VMP or a RX, then you should be able to boost the gain before it hits the BMPCC4K
-
What are you sending to the BMPCC4K? A scratch mic? A wireless receiver? Maybe use a headphone preamp? (many options: https://www.lifehacker.com.au/2015/09/five-best-portable-headphone-amplifiers/ https://www.amazon.com/FiiO-A1-Silver-Portable-Headphone/dp/B01CPUVPEM/ https://www.amazon.com/M-Audio-Bass-Traveler/dp/B00X67G77O/ )

Seriously? He does nothing else but YouTube? (although I've noticed he has more channels than just Camera Conspiracies ) And the Dragstrip is only five minutes away! -
kye nailed it. Basically if you want 4K and DPAF at once from Canon without hefty crop then you need to buy at least a C200 Many people are feeling locked into Canon, it might be worthwhile seriously considering if it is worthwhile jumping ship to Nikon/Fuji/Panasonic/etc instead
