EOSHD Opinion - The Sony A6400 is an absolute turkey
IronFilm replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
That sounds like Canon-talk to me. And the M50 also has no IBIS The a6400 certainly is a better buy than the M50 but we were hoping for so much more. Exactly this. At nearly three years old , I'm surprised Panasonic hasn't given us a "G90" yet. When you describe "vlogging" as "people who are taking videos for social media" then yes the market is massive. I'll see even little kids walking around town with their cameras. Surveys have shown "YouTuber" to be one of the most popular career aspirations that kids have for when they grow up. -

Sony.... the next Canon? It exists. Is called "the Panasonic G85". -
EOSHD Opinion - The Sony A6400 is an absolute turkey
IronFilm replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Thought this might be able to be my next vlogging camera, as with the Sony 20mm pancake it could be a pretty sweet compact setup. I can even overlook the selfie screen / hotshoe clashing, but no IBIS?? Sorry, the cheaper Panasonic G85 still reigns supreme in my desires to by my next vlogging camera. -
Exactly. But with Yi Action Cameras.

I'm referring to armed resistance. Comparatively speaking, a bunch people going for a walk is relatively meaningless.

Haven't you seen just how small their Kinefinity Terra models are? Much smaller than a built up RED! Let alone the likes of an Arri Alexa Mini. A Kinefinity Terra body is more like a 5D DSLR body. You're getting to be quite comparable to BMD's "pocket" camera. (ha!) Nope. And I've been looking out for secondhand bargains for years.

They had a lot of hacker support for 360VR which was their appeal for me.

This is why you don't need scenarios (although not ruling that out either) like you described of a full on scale war of civilians vs "the government". As simply just "a few" (hundreds? Thousands?) resisting against some kind of government injustice could be enough for those in power to realise "oh hang on, maybe we should stop being bullies like this and start to behave??" Often you don't even need to get to that actually happening for government's to make better decisions, as just simply the slim possibility of this happening can help positively influence policy from ridiculously stupid decisions being made (well, worse than normal for governments that is).
-
DBounce, always the pessimist about Kinefinity! Their camera brains are all sub $10K, even sub $4K
-
Get the mic off the camera! Which is where it should be, not on the camera itself. Will also as a bonus do great wonders in reducing noise picked up from the camera itself.

Because Andrew Reid and a few others made life here inhospitable for John Brawley unfortunately . Ohhh.... I forgot about Magento until just now! But Magento isn't really a fully fledged CMS in its own rights (or at least it wasn't back then), but rather it was something you used alongside some other CMS like for instance Drupal. How quickly would support for the government disappear once they start attacking their own local population in the USA? It is EXTREMELY difficult to hold land against a hostile armed local population. Having 100 million rifles stored in homes is the best possible defense mechanism a country could have. (both against hostile foreign governments, or your own government) You never know when you might be attacked. That is why it is a "surprise". But also you can own guns for hunting, or sport, self defense, or "just because". Civilian populations almost never ever privately own weapons to attack another country. This shouldn't be a concern whatsoever. Rather it is a very effect means of defense. Exactly my point. Let's compare "X amount per year" spent on local civilians buying arms vs the same amount spent per year maintaining a standing professional army: The first is a more effective defense mechanism. (and less effective at projecting aggressive power overseas! A win-win for global peace) The first is also cheaper on the state's finances. A win for the taxpayer too!

Britain will be just fine come March! Exactly. Let's not forget how good we've got it now! :-) Which is why it is really sad any time top notch pros like John Brawley leaves ? :-/

This fact illustrates how EOSHD is better than DPReview ? This is one of the things I love about forums, experiencing all the wide ranging diversity of opinions and perspectives. (even if that means you have to take a dose of the crazy in as well along the way....) Would there be overall an increase in crime?? It isn't that clear cut. For one I fully expect the high number of knife attacks would decrease..... Exactly!
-
What CMS are you using? I've dabbled a little in what was the big three of the time (mostly WordPress, a little Drupal, and a teeny bit Joomla. And probably a little else here and there I'm forgetting). Not so for me. I'm living the dream! Doing filmmaking, and on any time off I have then I'm getting paid to cycle! Double win-win for me.
-
Because camera buying is a religion and people gain a god like level of clarity as to which brand to worship. That is a really sad story ? ? And sadly it is far from unique either.

I recognize half those names! As for the other half..... now I've got something new to watch ? Thanks

Nikon is nailing it!!

So? Could have done both APS-C EVA1 sensor and MFT mount (hello JVC LS300!)
-
It is not just the Greeks! Is kinda almost universal across many different countries, there is a frequent common requirement for 10bit.
-
No it is not. Just there are many jobs which are ok with 8bit, but there are also many jobs which demand 10bit. The C200 gets excluded from those. I was hoping the announcement was going to be an EVA1 MFT ?
-
Panasonic could have stuck with the EVA1 sensor for an "EVA1 MFT"

Very High Hours/Low Cost FS7. Could use some help.
IronFilm replied to FreshGiant's topic in Cameras
That is a hell of a good deal! If the camera is in otherwise good nick, and has no known flaws, then I'd be pulling whatever deals/loans/favors that I could if had that offer to buy a FS7 kit at that price from a local rental house. -
There 110% will be a GH6 in the future. A better question to ask would be "is there going to be a GH8??"
-
I'd happily call him a cinematographer. If he is "just a videographer", then he is a bloody talented one at that!!
-
It is a glorified C100 mk3 because there are surprisingly many people who are buying the C200 just to shoot in 4K 8bit because there is now C100 mk3 to do this with instead.
