Or this. There are modification kits for it as well.

Nice! That is kinda the price I'm waiting for them to get to for when I do my upgrade from my Panasonic G6 Am sure that price will be quite common place enough by mid way through this new year. lol! He calls the M50's excessive 4K crop a "positive" because it means he can get different focal lengths from the same lens And then he tries to render the IBIS as sometimes a "negative" for the G85?? Biased much??

I few do. Such as Panasonic's GX7 / GX8 / GX9 I reckon the best "cheaper ish" options are the SmallHD SideFinder or any of the numerous "daylight bright" monitors which have came out recently.

Probably the fault of Atomos for not passing along the trigger? Curious as to if the MixPre itself direct from the Nikon will start/stop. Although that is a bit pointless if you need to use all three at once (Z6/MixPre/Atomos).

A secondhand Sony FS5 with an external recorder can be got for around $3.5K ish Still shocked we haven't seen a Panasonic EVA1 MFT yet. I blame the feud between the Panasonic professional vs consumer divisions

If you want the "feel" of a big rig, then the simplest way to do that is.... have a big rig. And the easiest practical way to do that is to pop on a V mount battery on the rear (which is useful! Don't need to worry about power for hours and hours), a mattebox (with rails) on the front (which actually can be handy), and monitor in the middle/side. Yes, but..... A glidecam has a completely different feel/language to a "heavy camera" (if it is handheld, easyrig, or shoulder rig, which are each subtly different to each other as well). At least a big beefy 230Wh V mount battery has more practical benefits than weight than a load of lead has. Even a naked F3 can be surprisingly lightweight, compared to a heavy Alexa. Need to add more weight if you want to fully match the mass of the two of them!

Would be a hell of lot less risky if only Panasonic had shown support for MFT in their next tier up of cameras, such as a Panasonic EVA1 MFT (or even an AF200 or DVX200 with a MFT mount). Or at least if BMD had released an UMP with MFT mount! Are only hope as MFT users now is a JVC LS200??

Is worth repeating. Nikon doesn't get enough credit for this. Looking forward to the next generation of Nikon Z mirrorless! They're already at the front of the pack for their niche.

Waiting for Nikon AF for Fujifilm...

Are you feeding out from the Atomos or direct from the Z6?

Canon EOS R first impressions - INSANE split personality camera
IronFilm replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
And as expensive as $30K+ is, that used to be the cheapest "full frame" 10bit / raw camera you could buy! Until the Kinefinity Mavo LF came along for $10K And then the Nikon Z7/Z6 for US$2K (for the Z6 that is, but needs an external recorder). -
Agreed.

But there was a difference in time (read: $$) in shooting with a GH2 vs Alexa. Am beginning to decide that from now on I should simply believe that any low budget shoot I'm on will simply not have a colorist. (at least none that deserve the title of "colorist") Log shooting??? Nah, Rec709 on day long! Yup, even on mid budget and up to even better funded shoots, then maybe we (as directors / DoPs / cam ops / etc) shouldn't be trusting too much on the quality of the downstream post production process we're handing over to. Am thinking in 2019 I should put a little bit of time into experimenting with what is the best looking footage I can get straight out of the Sony PMW-F3, rather than always shooting s-log ProRes HQ

I want an Irish Wolfhound, to match my own size. But first I'll need to stop living in an office in the downtown CBD! And get somewhere with a lawn. Only three sleeps away if you're on crack. I fixed your typo for you. What are your first two? For me: Facebook, then jwsoundgroup.net I delivered a few pizzas last night. Was very disappointed to discover reality was not what was promised.

C200 and EVA1 are quite different in my eyes. The C200 is a 4K C100 with "raw" thrown in. But like the C100, the C200 lacks any of the higher end stuff you might expect. (such as timecode, or a wide range of codec options. But sure, the C200 has one single SDI output, but it is very crippled. For instance you can't use both the HDMI and SDI at the same time!)

Could the handgrip be swapped out for a different third party one which stays in place firmer?

Why does the DoP need headphones??

Ok then. Immediately after read.... Righto then! Anyway..... more seriously now, we will "eventually" get 8K Even if 8K takes fifty years to get there. (doubt it though?) But I certainly don't see 8K being normal in the prosumer world within 4 years. Nope, nope, just not going to happen. Lots of the cheaper TV screens at my local store are less than 4K. Plus it takes much longer than 4 years before "all the old ones go belly up". Thus we'll be waiting much longer than 4 years before our current crop of TVs all get replaced.

That is too shortsighted, I'd recommend the eos16k.com domain name instead.

That was the HWD-F900, an extremely old camera by today's standards. And also way back then at the start of the digital era, then there was waaaaaaay less expertise in how to handle digital (from start through to post production) than we have today.

Best configuration: 1) Headphones. 2) Worn over your ears. 3) Listening.

Yes, some of the negativity around Sony's "color science" is now outdated as they've got better at it.

Xiaomi Yi Action Cameras for me instead.

I read also this comment elsewhere about the Z Cam E2 and this particular test video demonstration.
