Or a Sony PMW-F3 or Sony a7S etc which are already really clean at 1080 without needing downscaling ? I'm keen on Nikon F mount lenses because of their good value / quality and maximal ability to be adapted to absolutely anything. I assume you mean a Helios 58mm f/2 A 50mm f1.8 is barely faster at all, a teeny difference. While a 50mm f1.4 will cost quite a bit more (and a f1.2 will cost a *LOT* more!), but at least it will give you a whole stop more of light. However.. that is "only" one stop more of light. Would this be the smartest choice for your next lens? Or would getting say a 35mm f2 or a 135mm f2 be a more useful addition to your kit instead?

What is a joke about it? Other than perhaps the way they've managed to not so subtly turn this into one big advert for themselves (cunning!). But I still feel this was an interesting and useful series of videos to watch for those who are curious.

Well they had the 4K 24ps audio bug pointed out to them ages ago. So wasn't a lack of a sizeable user base To be fair even the mighty GH5 has an audio sync issue of 3 frames (or was it 6? I forget, something around that size), which still isn't fixed by Panasonic.

Give it a price reduction in the near future and will become very relevant to us. (or at least some of us) Thus it is worthwhile keeping an eye on its progress! If you know anything about software development you know then you can spend an almost infinite amount of timing fixing bugs on complex projects. Thus I'm glad to see Z Cam still supporting their older products.

The best news about this? It will make the older Mac Mini models even cheaper on eBay. As sometimes I toy with the idea of buying an older Mac Mini (modded to 12V DC) to use with BoomRecorder for a sound cart set up. https://jwsoundgroup.net/index.php?/topic/29911-is-there-anything-like-metacorder-or-boomrecorder-but-for-windows-or-linux/

That is not what the word "vaporware" means. The Z Cam E2 is already shipping. There are already people with this camera in their hands and shooting with it. That is not vaporware.

On many pro sets SDI is kinda mandatory, or at least something more than just the one Micro HDMI output!!

And the Tascam DR60Dmk2 already has an edge over the H6 for audio quality (although a small one)

This. At the moment $2K is a tough ask from an almost unknown brand, but if they can at least bring it quickly down to say US$1.5K to match some pretty common pricing we're now seeing for the GH5 (and not too far off the X-T3 & BMPCC4K as well) then they could be a strong contender again.

Unfortunately these Marantz are the same bulky size as the RodeLinks, but still....... at US$250 that is a screaming good deal https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1340330-REG/marantz_professional_pmd_750_2_4ghz_camera_mount_wireless.html

Wait a little while, or hit up your dealers to hurry them up and see if they'll be offering a similar deal from Sony too Yes, but the FS700 is a unique camera for its level and time in how it is still managing to hold some relevance in 2018!

Agreed there with you in general. But we can hope the Panasonic S1 will at least broadly match the capabilities of the Nikon Z6? And no less.

The Zoom F4 comes with a camera mounting bracket to attach it underneath the camera itself The build of the DR10L is nicer, because smaller = better Especially for bodypacks! Also, the DR10L is cheaper when you grab it on sale. Now I really think you need an F4 rather than an H6! 150 x3 = 450 (wait for a sale) Leaves $300, stretch it another fifty bucks and you've got yourself a secondhand F4 ?

X-T3 vs A7III vs EOS R vs Z7 vs Pocket 4K - Video Quality Compared!
IronFilm replied to Mako Sports's topic in Cameras
Don't leave us hanging! Tell us what and why that is in your eyes. -
In a camera like any URSA then it is the tight integration between recorder/monitor/mount/sensor/audio/etc that we value highly. Making various parts swapable then either ruins this completely, or makes it very complex/expensive.

Fantastic, you can put a boom mic in shot and place it as close as you like! As everything can easily be removed in post anyway. Here is my super ultra very low budget suggestion: Oktava MK012 Hypercardioid from eBay + 3m carbon boom pole and boom buddy for a C stand + Tascam DR60Dmk2 with a USB powerbank Sweet spot ultra low budget suggestion for maximizing bang for buck on a very low budget, same as above but swap out for Audix SCX1-HC and Zoom F8n (or for a mid point between the two, a secondhand Zoom F4) Remember to add tracking marks on the green screen

Does the NX1 HDMI trigger any recorder? (such as an Atomos)

I never seem to share anything I've worked on which I did the sound for, so for a change, here is something I just got notified about. A doco about Speedway Racing:
