It is impossible to use a focal reducer with an EF mount camera. (not unless you're going to adapt medium format lenses on to it!)

I have a truly truly ridiculously large amount of BTS content, vlogs, chats, etc still to one day be uploaded to my YouTube channel.... but one of those videos, was me having a microphone inside a refrigerator to capture that sound too! ha

Oh wow, I'm watching Better Call Saul right now! (as in it is playing in the corner on this monitor right now as I type) Am quite a fan of the show. And yes, I've noticed it uses a lot of unusual camera positions. Didn't realise it was with a lowly GH4! :-o The article however is from early 2015, I wonder what they're using now?

You're in Asia, not Manchester, you'll be sure to be getting one soon!

On a somewhat kinda related point, I feel what this young 1st/2nd AC wrote about the current situation with pro wireless video hardware is insightful/interesting: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?171125-My-Quest-for-the-Best-Wireless-Video

I'm scared for his lens! :-o

It is pretty financially painless to switch and change between Canon and Nikon however, if you are buying and selling secondhand. Check out this autofocus performance with ADAPTED lenses (not native) in this first generation FX mirrorless camera from Nikon:

Glad to hear that! :-) And you're welcome ? People need to always keep in mind what are they wanting to get out of a short film? The "return" (not a financial return! Ha. No, but rather some kind of "non-financial" return) will almost certainly be near on exactly the same if it is a 4 minute or a 20 minute short film. Yet the cost (in time/money/effort/missed opportunity cost / etc) will be far far higher! Odds of a short film being sold: 0.0000000001%

Nikon Z6 features 4K N-LOG, 10bit HDMI output and 120fps 1080p
IronFilm replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Also the Z6 doesn't need to do super sharp autofocus for a very high resolution stills sensor, I just need it good enough for the 8MP / 4K portion! -
I have a mechanism for testing that: "your eyes"

Exactly! Even if they feel they don't have anything (sad! But oh well) to put in a new D3x00 they still feel compelled to update it to a "new" model! As those Christmas buyers want to buy the "latest" DSLR! Can't have an "old" camera competing against the latest shiny new Rebel from Canon! And yes, gives them an excuse to discount their "old" model! So those extreme bargain hunters have something to latch onto as well. I'll be disappointed though if their next D5x00 doesn't get 4K! Even if just a basic 4K mode like in the D7500 -
It shouldn't remove it. But if you're paranoid about it then you could offload the installed RGB from the F3, do the update, then reinstall the RGB
-
Using the same lens on both? Have you swapped around to try a few other lenses on the F3 as well?

If someone wants a CCD on the cheap (other than the D16) then you can pick up a Sony PMW-F23 for next to nothing! (I've heard of them recently going for sub $1K) Eh, I don't miss my Nikon D50

I've been reading an on going saga of a horror story with someone's C200 recently: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?361514-My-C200-is-DOWN!

Sure this is not the lens? That would by my assumption

Panasonic announcing a full frame camera on Sept. 25???
IronFilm replied to Trek of Joy's topic in Cameras
Is there some secret commodities market out there that you can trade futures on for the GH5? Then I can only assume he has gone long on his investment position with the GH5, and he stands to make a fortune if people panic and the price for a GH5 plummets. Well yes, now we can, the 1D C is old! And prices have fallen to much more respectable amounts. -
The four second rule while driving?!

Nikon would be very very foolish to give up on DX, seeing as that is where the vast bulk of their sales are. -
So long as the new tracks preserve the timecode metadata to then sync with, I'd say yeah you could do a pass of NR with them first if you wish
-
Yeah just an actor/model release. If you're being anal about it, then location releases too. But many ultra micro budget short films don't even do this. However with it being a 20 minute long short, that is an overly long time investment for a short film (not something I'd recommend!), so I'd suggest you cover your ass with a bit of paperwork.

Could their sensor be very closely related to the 28MP NX1 sensor? (aside from the X Trans CFA) 2MP less than 28MP is next to nothing in terms of size reduction, a cropped out 26MP portion would still be terms "APS-C". And maybe they had some reasons to use a very slightly smaller size (perhaps meant they fit more onto a silicon wafer, or got a little bit better yields) Because even 5yrs later, the NX1 sensor is still very very good! Especially if they've further refined it. And heck, there are still lots and lots of other cameras out there still using older than 5yr sensor tech. Damn! And if the sensor business and the camera business side of Sony talk to each other (I dunno how much they've got "Chinese Walls" up or not) then that gives a massive advantage to Sony! As they'll know very precisely what specs/features are coming out in their competition cameras, long before it happens.

Then why not sync up files from day one? Mute all but the boom track, and visual edit to that. Then dig into the rest of the tracks when you're focusing on the sound phase I'm enjoying seeing the love for the Reaper DAW here as well! Although I'm a bare bones sound post noob, what little I do do, is with Reaper

My fingers are crossed they're just two cameras with two different sensor resolutions, with no surprising crippling of the Z6. I don't think Nikon has done much of the way in "surprise crippling" have they? Look at the D5 vs D500, kinda is two cameras but with different sensors in it. They didn't really hold back on the D500 did they? And that is what I really want to see, a DX mirrorless! Hopefully comes out this summer (or "winter" as you guys call it), as I'd still probably have to wait another 6 months after then for grey market prices to soften. When the cyclist disappeared between those leaves but it stayed in focus... whoa
