Yes, he means what I'd call "university"

Do they have focus peaking now in 4K as well?
-
But S35 is the industry standard. PL mount is the industry standard. Of course PL S35 is common!

BMPCC4K does ProResHQ internal. (10bit 422)

Exactly. If a person doesn't care about "crop" they will buy the BMPCC4K Or GH5 Or GH5S Or X-T3 Or a6700 (when it arrives) Or You can see where this is going by now.... Basically -people will not buy the Canon EOS R This is why all of Canon's competitors need to not neglect their bottom end entry level cameras. They need to keep on updating them every other year, keep on giving them a little feature bump. Imagine say a "Panasonic G100" (with a kit lens, though would be nice if it started at 12mm instead of the usual low priced 14-42mm) priced sub $500 with simply a G7 that got the newer 20 megapixel sensor in it (with 4K 30fps no crop), and nothing else. And Nikon and Sony need to hurry up and bring out new low low priced APS-C mirrorless cameras. As this is how you build up your brand with a large base of users (which is your main 1st source of buyers who will purchase your more expensive products in the future). The one on Devin's channel has a 4K option:

Sub $300 3D LUT support would be nice indeed for when shooting S log. But any higher and I'd start to think about splurging "all out" for a Ninja V instead.

For years and years now RED has been bad with censorship and an inability to handle criticism. This recent thread from yesterday just further demonstrates that RED/reduser still has issues. http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?170817-Woah RED (and reduser :-/ ) continues to sink lower in my eyes in terms of how they run themselves, and unfortunately Teradek joins them too now.

I've been quite happy with my Lilliput A5 on the few shoots I've used it on, would need to be something nice at a great price to tempt me away.

Let's play "spot the camera"! We'll start with an easy one: Then move on up to a trickier challenge:

Pancake lenses on a mirrorless body are a big attraction to me, it truly lives up to one of the benefits of mirrorless: compact size! I own pancake lenses from Panasonic, Olympus, Sony, and Samsung!

Haven't heard much about the Z Cam E2 on the forums lately
-
90%+ of modern cinema PL lenses are designed for S35 Some vintage PL lenses are for S16 and such, but once you ignore those, then again the vast majority are also for S35 again. I have a feeling you didn't mean to write "S35" Might as well spend less and get the better Fujifilm APS-C instead for filming with! Oh WOW! That was shot literally just down the road from me. Literally, I'm on the corner with the road that the park you see is on.

I dearly hope he went with neither!! (which is a distinct possibility... that I suspect he is a spammer)

Why do you think they moved the discussion of Hydrogen off the reduser forum and over onto its own closed off forum....

Panasonic announcing a full frame camera on Sept. 25???
IronFilm replied to Trek of Joy's topic in Cameras
I'm here from the future to report that yes indeed Canon "pulled a 2016" -
The D750 is a big leap ahead camera from the D600 The D850 is still a rather new camera, which until lately was struggling to be kept in stock in many stores due to high demand for it. And the Z7 is a drastically new camera platform! You can't fault them for keeping a few things constant in the change over. Nikon stuck with their core lens mount longer than anybody else on the planet! And now Z mount will develop into being their next main core lens mount which they'll keep on supporting from now until infinity and beyond. Agreed. But the Canon is waaaaaaaaay further away from perfection. While the Nikon is edging the closest to "perfection", almost almost there? Holy crap! That news totally flew over my head that the Mavic 2 Pro has 10bit internal!! :-o I do believe that is even better than the Phantom 4 Pro can do? Thus surely the next Phantom will get 10bit as well.

What's in your Run and Gun Documentary Videography Kit?
IronFilm replied to Mako Sports's topic in Cameras
As you're using Sony wireless on a Sony camera, you might like to look into using their smart shoe adapter. It might open up access to other channels of audio? It does for the Sony FS7, dunno about your lower end camera, but it is worth checking. Is self noise too bad on the Rode Video Mic Go? Or some other reason? -
My humor might have got lost in translation. Unfortunately that is exactly what they do. Which funds Canon to carry on with their complacency.

Can we all just have a big f***ing laugh about this...
IronFilm replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
I feel the forum is still a fun place. Just I need to skim (but I always slow down for yours Mattias!) a bit faster over some other posts, merely because all these mirrorless camera announcements has lead to an EXPLOSION OF POSTS. Have we ever recently seen so many major developments from so many brands in so short a time? Nikon mirrorless announced. Canon mirrorless announced. New Fujifilm camera, their best ever for video. (from a company you'd never have expected this from only a couple of years ago!) Panasonic FF rumored around the corner? BMPCC4K shipping. Kinefinity's Mavo LF ("Large Format") specs and price was revealed. RED's smartphone has shipped. All in the space of a few days! Just need to get a few more to come on and we'd be complete! What is Pentax up to, bringing out a digital Pentax 645 with decent video and at an acceptable price? Ha, if only! What about Sigma or Olympus? JVC? Ha, what if Samsung returned! That would really throw the cat among the pigeons! Arri and Sony are the biggest players I haven't mentioned yet, but Sony is meant to have either the a7Smk3 or a pro grade APS-C mirrorless coming soon. And the Arri Alexa LF could perhaps be added into my earlier list.
