Using Sigma primes?

There are three kinds of lies: Lies. Damned lies. And statistics. (I say this as a mathematics graduate myself!)

That is exactly what I showed in the video! Except the tricky nature of selfie filming on the fly means I didn't quite show it exactly as I should have. That first cart I showed is suitable for a high end pro. The second one is still ok, just would help if the cart and the boxes both matched (perhaps if both get spay painted black, rather than being two different colors). Certainly having any sort of dedicated sound cart which is well equipment then will set you apart from low budget bag guys. I'd dispute that you'd think this makes me look "non-pro", likely you just don't have the recent experience on film sets of this scale with sound departments. But this is not about "appearances" anyway (but would be a bonus?), rather that a well equipped cart will actually allow me to do my job better together with a boom op. The same reason you see big 32" director's monitors set up. Or DIT carts. Or AC follow carts. Or any of the many other departments' dedicated infrastructure they bring with them. It helps them do their jobs better.

Exactly my plan. And I'm never running from mains power. For now I'll prefer bungee cords for ease of adjustment and so it can be taken apart for transporting. But might use zip ties if needed. Hopefully also I can figure out a hinge method to swing away the shelves for when being transported. And yes, a lip on the shelves would be nice too. I'm going to put carpet or at least a rubber padding on them too, to help make them be quieter (I'm in the sound department after all!). Huh?

Most C mount or S16 will not cover the large BMPCC4K sensor.

Started a new thread for this, as it is an area (timecode!) in which the sound department overlaps with the camera department thus it might interest the camera geeks here as well. Because I got to try out the NanoLockit for the first time, was impressed with its feature in how it can autodetect FPS But Ultrasync ONEs remain my favorite! And the Tentacle Syncs are still handy for DSLR/mirrorless shoots that lack a TC input on the camera.

Good enough for Nikon D700 users!

Yeah, even a very casual stills person like myself would rather have a 24 megapixel camera

Saw this, would kinda like to make it like that: But I'll probably just slum it like this (but surely horizontal boxes make more sense than vertical? Then three could be fitted in, instead of two, and would make for a larger surface to mix on! Win-win.)

The Z7 seems it will be very different to the D700/D750, as it is a high resolution camera, more like the D800/D810/D850 The Z6 will be more like a D750/D610/D600.

Looking into perhaps making up a sound cart for myself, maybe even before next weekend's film shoot:

It is crazy the power of RED marketing, I bet a lot of rich guys (and not so rich folks! Who borrow to the max) like Jon Olsson buy a RED only to discover it doesn't suit their current needs.

Hopefully it will have real WiFi rather than only Snapbridge https://www.diyphotography.net/give-us-back-wi-fi-open-letter-nikon/

Launch zoom will be the 24-70m f4 https://nikonrumors.com/2018/07/27/nikon-mirrorless-camera-rumors-the-big-recap.aspx/ For their initial launch release it is reasonable that Nikon targets compactness/affordability first, the fast lenses will becoming along shortly later on.

I love them! Perfect for vlog filming, or just in general when setting up a shot

That is why now I spend the least possible on my phones! My "fancy" phone now is a secondhand Samsung S7 Active -
LF as a name? I wasn't going to even dare MF as the name!

That was the name of the 48HOURS team I was in!

The D850 is down too like the 5Dmk4? That is a pity, as the D850 is something special unlike the 5Dmk4 flop -

I'd be curious how D700 vs D800 vs D810 vs D750 vs D850 search trends look next to the 5D series (throwing in the 5DS/5DSR as well for fun). -
Errr... still missing the point I think? As what I'm saying has nothing to do with how fast the flashes cycle (heck, they could take 10 minutes to recharge for the next flash for all I care, it doesn't impact my point. ) But in your case, you want opposite and them to fire potentially dozens of times a second, and perfectly (so a timecode box with genlock attached to the flashes?? :-o ) in sync with the camera shutter?? Yeah, nah. We know how bad it is for the subject being blinded by flashes a few times in a row, could you imagine doing that many times a second for minutes at a time? Quick path to becoming the most hated photographer in town! It means something IF someone pays that much for it. As then the market is created with a seller and a buyer. Exactly. I find it hilarious when people say still lenses are not good enough to resolve 4K detail. Wow! Yeah, someone lower level like him won't be touching a super early release model but something very similar to the actual production model itself. So the official launch can not be too many weeks away. Edit: Well well well, from NR: NR busy busy busy busy!!! Breaking records for sure.

But it is not twenty bucks ?
