That is bonkers insanely cheap!! Buy it, and just use adapter Nikon F mount lenses onto the camera. What a bargain.

Hollywood Reporter - "In firing James Gunn, Disney hurts all of Hollywood"
IronFilm replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Or even..... don't get all tied up in fury in the first place? Now there is a radical idea! People get too upset too quickly over things often, be it online, "real life", in game, or whatever. Life is too short, worry more about yourself, than worrying about others. Get your own life sorted before bothering about interfering with other people's lives! One of the reasons why my interest, or at least my involvement, in politics waned is because I just got very busy with living my own life instead. -
From earlier this year: https://nikonrumors.com/2018/01/11/nikons-upcoming-mirrorless-camera-rumored-to-have-a-new-z-mount-with-16mm-flange-focal-distance.aspx/

That is probably why the rumor is it will be a very shallow 16mm

I feel like it was smart of Pentax to attack the markets above and below with their APS-C mirrorless and their medium format mirrorless. APS-C mirrorless has the change to rule now, and in the medium term (5yrs? 10yrs?) then medium format has the chance to make a very strong showing as it becomes more affordable. Meanwhile Fuji is dodging the war to end all wars which is going to break out now over the FF mirrorless territory. And a6500 is their only recent APS-C No a5100 successor. And no pro APS-C body above the a6500 Not yet. But I could see this being the future. The only question is if Fuji is excuting this plan too soon, and will they implement the plan well? For instance look at the Nikon 1 system. I could imagine a world where 1" ICL and FF mirrorless from Nikon lived alongside each other. But a few flaws: it was "too soon" (1" performance when the Nikon 1 started was pretty bad, although modern 1" cameras like the RX100 now are not too bad) and their implementation was awful with a lack of compelling and affordable lenses to back up their cameras. So if Fuji can survive the attack of Nikon/Canon FF mirrorless then they might be set up well for the future with the compact APS-C cameras on one side and the high performing Medium format Mirrorless on the other side.

I hope so, but will they?? Just look at all the pressures they're under right now due to the completely innocuous "coming of rage" high school movie "Insatiable". If this had been made in 2000, would any one have even batted an eyelid over it? Doubt it. It is darn difficult to boom without being able to look at the actors for more than a few seconds! Maybe this will lead to more equal opportunities employment for those who have been discriminated against in the past, no longer will blind people be blocked from following their dream of becoming a boom op! -
It means at least the demand was significantly higher than Nikon was forecasting.

EVA1 vs Terra 4k or Mavo vs FS5 II - decisions!

Terra + BMPCC4K? -
As we take a breather from the exciting mirrorless rumors, we can see how very popular Nikon's traditional DSLRs are, they can't even keep the excellent Nikon D850 in stock because it is in hot demand: https://nikonrumors.com/2018/07/24/today-its-july-24th-and-the-nikon-d850-is-still-out-of-stock-in-the-us.aspx/

Hopefully they have two adapters: 1) for modern Nikon F lenses which is very good but relatively affordable 2) supports ALL Nikon F lenses ever made, but more pricey and complex? They should have shot the video with a Canon to hide what is in the shadows. Boom.... roasted

If the new mount has a 16mm focal flange distance as rumored, then not only lenses which have a removable back to them (like Veydra primes and Fujion MK zooms) but even permanent mount lenses such as say the Rokinon E mount lenses (although why any one buys them in another but a DSLR mount I do not know!) or SLR Magic E mount lenses could be easily adapted with a simple and cheap adapter to the new Nikon mirrorless mount.
-
I strongly hope their new mount is shallow enough that Veydra primes and Fujion MK zooms can be used on it!!

Only very marginally cheaper, and at least Marantz has a longer history and a better brand reputation. Had a Saramonic UwMic9 (their only one worth talking about), and it failed on me after quite a short period and doesn't work now. However I did by accident recently purchase another Saraomonic UwMic9 on eBay for next to nothing, so I'll give it another spin and report back.

On average I feel EOSHD still has a better culture to it than many other forums out there. But lately... a bit meh

Just like Sony is doing with E and A mount.... Oh wait. Yup, I expect the same will happen to F mount. It will keep going "strong" for another couple of years then gradually the speed and range of updates to the Nikon F mount ecosystem will contract until you're left with just one DX DSLR and one FX DSLR in their line up. Then they won't get updated for years, and then they'll disappear completely as A mount is about to one day do.

I'm not saying G3 wireless are awful and a dealbreaker (wellllll.... for some people they are by their standards), and G3 is indeed the defacto standard for very low budget shoots. Everyone and their dog seems to have a G3 kit (which is unfortunately why you still see G3 getting recommend, not because they're the best bang for you buck, but because it is the only thing people know. Just like how Canon keeps on getting recommended, even when it isn't the best choice). But what I am saying is that in 2018 (or heck, any time in the last few years) they no longer make any sense at all to buy if you're putting together a new kit. As the Sony UWP-D11 are the same price but better. Plus the new Senal AWS200 (once we see more reviews of it) and the new Deity wireless (once it gets announced) will likely remove even more of the reasons for it make any sense to buy Sennheiser G3 wireless. And then at the lower budget underneath the G3 we have the Marantz PMD-750 and RodeLinks further undercutting the point in getting a G3 (although I'd still easily prefer a G3 over a RodeLink Filmmakers Kit, with their lower price then the RodeLink could be a more sensible choice than a G3 for someone with less demanding needs).

Which is a pity, I'd rather see twenty risk taking $10 million dollar films than another $200 million dollar blockbuster. And it could even end up being overall less financially risky for the studio, as there are decent odds one of those twenty films will end up being a break out success, vs the risk of putting all your eggs in the one basket in the hope of a "blockbuster film". #InvestmentDiversification

EVA1 vs Terra 4k or Mavo vs FS5 II - decisions!
IronFilm replied to Oliver Daniel's topic in Cameras
No such thing! Just become a gaffer instead ? Not a bad idea really. Canon isn't a frustrating company at all if you expect them to disappoint. Or Terra 4K Or Kinefinity Mavo Or Z Cam E2 Or a secondhand FS700 / FS7 / F5 -
I'd suggest you do it sooner rather than later. As the FS700R has been discontinued. So who knows how much longer Sony will support doing upgrades for the FS700 to 4K
-
Indeed. I will! Am following up a lead or two I have on a camera. But am in no rush. As I don't need a new camera. So will wait for the perfect bargain.

Nooooooooooooooooo............... not Rick and Morty!!! ? I'd watch that. Or at least give the first episode a go. (and anyone who thinks her character at the start of the series is healthy is delusional) http://www.dailyedge.ie/insatiable-backlash-4143489-Jul2018/ It is sad people even feel a need to defend the show. How does a person even think like that?!?! Or do they seriously think there are plenty of actresses out there who'd happily go for real from very morbidly obese to super hot overnight just for a Netflix show?? Well, as of course that doesn't seem likely at all it could feasibly be done for real that extreme transformation by any serious actress (although, we seem to more often see male actors willing to put their bodies through radical transformations?! Perhaps. I'd be curious to see a study on this), what are the alternatives? Does a "skinny suit" exist to turn a morbidly obese person into a super model? Of course not!! Don't be rediculious. Thus of course she had to wear a fat suit. There. Is. No. Other. Option. (except perhaps CGI?? But we're still a few more years away from that) Sorry, you're a few decades too late on that. People have already tried that! People were suggesting such crazy theories even back in the 1990's https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/the-harris-levels/ Heck, you can go further back to say the early 1980's when people blamed all sorts of crazy stuff on D&D. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeons_%26_Dragons_controversies And I'm sure every generation had their scrapegoat. Be it Rock and Roll music, D&D, or Doom or whatever. Just I fear within the last decade that the crazy has racketed up many levels to a degree we've never seen before.
