The variable ND adapter is only possible with a mirrorless mount. And Canon has put most of their focus instead into EF mount cameras.

Use the BMD Micro Cinema Camera for slow motion footage. Would a 3.5" monitor be small enough? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1265749-REG/ikan_vl35_3_5_4k_support.html Or 2.8 inches?? :-o https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1359738-REG/e2work_adam_3g_hd_sd_sdi_2_8_portable_monitor.html Yes, you get the feeling sales of the Micro was probably lower than for the Pocket. Thus you'd expect a sales pricing for it one day? But then again perhaps BMD was predicting lower sales, and had production lower to match the demand. Dammnnn.... that could be a nice set up! A little "mini FS7" on your shoulder, that is controlled from your right hand near the grip People really under appreciate just how good ProRes can be.

Sub $600? Already happened. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Blackmagic-Design-Cinema-Camera-Camcorder-Body-Only-with-EF-Mount-/152876830724

Maybe he is going away over Easter with his parents on a holiday to a remote part of the world?!
-
Which is smart to do! (so long as they have smooth integration with their original F mount)

Yes, in practice. The Dalsa Origin was available before the first RED camera, and the Dalsa Origin was a commercially available camera for digital cinematography which any one could rent or buy (if you had the $$$$$$$$!).

Personally I'd prefer a GH5S & GH5 with Nikon glass on it, over a single D5
-
Impressive for this being handheld!

The Micro Studio and BMPCC are very different. I wouldn't recommend buying the Studio camera simply on the basis of liking the BMPCC It is the Micro Cinema and BMPCC that are quite similar to each other.

My first DSLR was the Nikon D50 which had a CCD sensor, which made switching over to the D90's CMOS sensor like a breath of fresh air for low light shooting! Do you remember what year you purchased the Kodak DCS-460? Wikipedia said that new it was US$36K!!

What is Nikon doing?!

When will the first non-"crippled" DNG be shared?!

Indeed who you know (and how many), is almost more important than anything else. This. I am an introverted, but I've managed to over the years and years work around to it, that now some of my friends even are surprised when I tell them I'm introverted, they believe I'm the opposite! In New Zealand you don't even have to insure your motor vehicle! I don't.

4K existed before RED
-
Cheap large sensor HD video cameras with interchangeable lenses literally did not exist prior to the Nikon D90. They're also not pushing it immediately into the sub $3K, or even sub $4K, or even sub $5K!!

Kinefinety got mentioned in the same breath alongside them ;-) https://www.newsshooter.com/2018/03/28/canon-goes-full-frame-updated-c700-ff-2/

I've been using their Blueline series for a while and been happy, but this is their higher end CK63 capsule. If we're talking about murder rates of a microphone.... might the Aputure Deity be the leader here? That is built tough! (was going to post the video of it being run over by a truck.... but can't find it :-/ And am in a rush, got to go!)

Thankfully my new AKG just arrived today in an ok manner! Might use it on tomorrow's shoot. Thought about moving to another EU country which has better incomes than the one you're in now? As you should have freedom of movement.

Still leaps and bounds better than any other options people had back then on a budget!

It isn't a branch of the government at all: https://www.aucklandchamber.co.nz/about-us/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auckland_Chamber_of_Commerce ("Other Services" is why I've been going there so often lately)

Yet it was Panasonic that was first with 1080 24p, and for the vast majority of people Panasonic was "first" again with 4K (as the 1D C was so prohibitively expensive that most people could just about pretend it doesn't even exist....), ditto 1D X mk2 with 4K 60p as arguably for most people it was the GH5 which was "first" for them personally. We can thank Nikon for that first ever HDSLR, if not for the D90 then I bet Canon might very well have dragged their feet a little while longer and not have included video in the 5Dmk2 just like how they missed the boat with the Canon 50D in going 95% of the way there yet still deciding against putting video in the 50D! Canon didn't start it. Nikon did!

https://www.43rumors.com/ft4-will-the-z-e2-camera-get-a-4k-120fps/ Wowzers!

Oh damn it, so Veydra has basically done it for EVERYTHING but what I really was wanting? :-( Sony FZ mount! https://www.veydra.com Darn it
-
We have a Chamber of Commerce too, I went there today! And went there yesterday and last week. But I think ours is kinda a bit different.
-
Veydra has swappable mounts for MFT and E mount, wondering if they could also be used with a suitable adapter mount swapped in for Fuji X mount or Sony FZ mount?
