Am reviving this zombie thread to say... I've got a CS1 now! Was at a price I couldn't resist
-
I feel this is a complement of this camera! Has any new release got quite this response?
-
Many vloggers use a LOT of punch ins, so higher resolution is very handy for that.
-
I feel exactly the same way! Any great vlogging cameras needs this. Wish there would be 1" compacts with these simple features. I wouldn't mind that too much. But the G7/G80/G85 are kinda bulky ish, so I wish that say the future GF6 successor (which has has a flip up screen) would simply gain a mic input (and of course it would have 4K! d'oh) Been so many years and still the a5100 hasn't been updated :-( An a5300 (even if it overheats and has short battery life) with a mic input and 4K would be a sweet choice for vlogging with.

RED and Foxconn to create range of affordable 8K prosumer cinema cameras
IronFilm replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
You could dip your toe in the water with something even cheaper: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1337213-REG/yi_technology_360_vr_camera.html Has already been quite a popular choice to use the BMMCC as a basis for a 360VR rig, and probably BMD would rather let others take on the risk / R&D of that niche. It doesn't seem to be an area BMD has ever shown an interest in before. Personally I've been hoping a lot for the BMMCC would go on a half price sale like the BMPCC did! Then I'd be seriously tempted to buy up a bunch myself for that purpose. -

I'll admit one factor in my purchase decision of a NX300 was its 3D capabilities, but then again I never filmed in 3D... -
But HOW do you do it? Please don't get hit by a bus during the next week and take these secrets to your grave! :-o

Then the Sony 35mm f1.8 has optical stabilisation in a fairly small lightweight package. I'd prefer that over the Canon pancake
-
I've read that too, many times! Crazy What they don't realise is: good video = sells more cameras. More cameras sold = more cameras to spread fixed costs over. Lower fixed costs = lower priced cameras for everyone! (including "pure" photographers)
-
Did the canon t6i and newer DSLRs with their new 24MP sensor do any better with video? How did they compare to the competition? As we know Canon 18MP APS-C DSLRs were quite awful.
-
If I cared about aerodynamics I'd have shaved my beard!
-
You can see however they're filming with a big bulky cinema camera. So certainly nothing video related.
-
Am disappointed that Sony never updated the a5100 :-( I liked that little guy, I had one myself. However there is indeed such a lens for it! The Sony 20mm f/2.8 pancake lens, which is close enough.

Quoting this for no other reason than how awesome this article is. Read it. Laugh. Read it again. Laugh some more! The Panasonic GH1 came out long before the C300mk1

Thought 3D (for anything that is not VR) was dead?? RED wants to dig up 3D again?! -
The most important thing. I was kinda a little bummed when I realised the other night that my BMPCC only had 1080, and nothing else! As I only had a teeny card with me and I know my interview subject would ramble on and on and on and on and on and on..... thus I wouldn't have minded considering 720 for this particular shoot, as it was only going to FB anyway (plus I was doing it for free! While getting drunk with friends on a saturday night...) Nofilmschool went downhill years ago. I don't even bother checking their website now. They only have useless writers now it seems who don't have a clue. If there was a class action lawsuit against Canon for being misleading then I'd singlehandedly buy up enough popcorn to cause a countrywide shortage of popcorn. I bet Panasonic's next sub $1K G series camera will have 4K without a crop.

Any one remember the Nokia N97? I really wanted this back when it came out. Has a full qwerty keyboard that slides out from underneath. Nokia E70 was even more trippy with its fold out keyboard: And of course us video geeks would get a real kick out their Nokia N92: -
Better advice would be to find another career.... ? While this camera is certainly not for me, I love how quickly Fuji has moved forward over the last couple of years and it makes me excited for Fuji as to what the next couple of years will bring! Sad but true, there is still a significant segment on hardcore photography forums who are under the crazy belief that putting video in a camera MAKES IT WORSE!! ?? :-/ wtf My guess is the C100mk3 will be like the C200 but without raw.

I started that thread ;-) Wanted to convert a few redusers over! :-P

Cash! Always cash. Credit is scary, easy to slip too far down that slippery slope.... So I never have. A Colorchecker Xrite Passport is a good idea too. Very true. I've seen this used on sets on such cameras.

Shot in Rec709 and ProResLT! ha Quick BTS on my YT channel: The final edited result is already up: And this is how a clip looked straight out of camera (you can even hear how I recorded the right track at a lower level than the left track! Intentionally so as a safety measure):

One motorbike. Rest were/are bicycles. (only still own a handful, but at one point I owned a dozen all at once!) Yup, never owning a car helps have more money spare for this expensive business of filmmaking! But I feel within a couple of years or so then simply for my career I'll need to buy a stationwagon or a transit van.

Movies become a lot less fun if they need to cover several software development teams wrangling tens of thousands of lines of code, instead of focusing on one central character as the lead.
