And was Z Cam made by.... Z Cam? ;-) The feature I did in Oz last year used FIVE different cameras. Every shot was always a multicam shot. Live was hell for sound! (me)

"only"! For half that price you can get a set of Sony PL lenses: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/906631-REG/sony_scl_pk6_f_cinealta_4k_six_lens.html

You answer your own question in your next sentence:

Sounds like you already have a tonne of cameras! Thus worth looking deep inside yourself to see if you're a GAS sufferer and perhaps you need to nip this thought off at the bud. One approach which helps for me is to consider ROI (Return on Investment). Will the 1D C earn you more money than not having it? Will it do so better than any other place you could put that money? (technical term: "lost opportunity cost". I'm a hard core economics nerd by the way... if you can't tell already! ha) We're spoiled for choices around that price point! Got also the Sony FS700 / Sony PMW-F3 / JVC LS300 / RED ONE / URSA Mini / etc Have used the Ninja 2, and its monitor is so shit it is hard to really use it as a monitor / recorder. The Atomos Ninja Blade (I own the Samurai Blade, which is SDI, for my Sony F3) is so dirt cheap as well that I very strongly recommend the small extra cost of this over the Ninja 2 (or instead of a Ninja Blade, a BMD Video Assist is a good choice too).

That is a big big appeal of the Arri cameras, and why they are #1. Because of their highlight roll off.
-
Huh, what are you hinting at? Maybe we need more controversial threads started on EOSHD! ;-) Where is this $500 BMPCC?? The sale ended a long long time ago :-( :-( Keep on wishing for a $500 BMMCC!! :-D
-
True, I don't like how top heavy the C300 is (not a problem the F3 has...) Nah, not so, plenty of people shoot with just a C300 + lens and not much else (although yes, there are also people who massively rig it up) 4K 60fps external output is a heck of a lot more than the C300mk1 can do! I'd be curious to see side by side of a LS300 vs C100, with the LS300 having a focal reducer and down scaled 4K 422, maybe your assumption here won't hold true?

Who was it who asked about 0.58x BMPCC Speed Booster on the GH5S? Well....

Does it help if you are 2.39:1 aspect ratio? -
C100mk2: 60fps FHD C300mk1: SDI, genlock, timecode, better codec, cheaper (? arguably, or at least easier to find secondhand), and more. Seems like an easy choice! But here is an even easier choice: C300mk1 vs Sony PMW-F3 F3 all the way! Here is a trickier choice: Sony F3 vs Sony FS700 FS700 gains some notable advantages (super slow motion, and 4K external), but also has some disadvantages, plus is significantly more expensive (but still easily cheaper than a C300mk1!). For the 4K raw obsessed, but who don't care about having a very "quirky" (read: flawed) camera: RED ONE MX or URSA Mini 4K, both similar (or maybe cheaper! If lucky) prices as a C300mk1 And I'll finish off this post with one last candidate, which is an oddball wild card suggestion: the JVC LS300! 4K internal, a tonne of fancy features such as streaming, a very versatile mirrorless mount, extremely affordable, but it is a JVC which no one knows.

Meh, I was writing up a long response..... but then thought, nah! Not going to bother. But there is no way to delete posts in this forum :-/

Just get rid of them the Canadian way:

Yet another reason to worship at the House of Nikon! ;-) Long may our Nikkor Overlords Rule. Maybe because the D850 is secretly a small medium format camera? :-P -
Watch it!!
-
An extra 4MP means little, they could have just stuck with the sensor and seen how they could have otherwise improved the camera.
-
Bit depth and DR are two different things. I don't see why you expect one *must* change just because the other changes. (yes, they might, but doesn't mean they're always connected)

Only non-Canikon in the top 10 is: a Sony P&S (at #2) + a Kodak P&S + a knock off accessories kit for GoPro (ha, not even a camera! Seriously, it doesn't include the GoPro itself) a6000 and a7Rmk3 are the only mirrorless in the top 20. Wonder if this is ranked by volume of sales or value of sales? Guessing by volume. https://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Electronics-Mirrorless-Cameras/zgbs/electronics/3109924011/ Hmmm... a5100 is #4! :-o (& a6000 is #1) Impressive for such old cameras. Darn pity they never updated the a5100! (I just wanted a mic input on mine.... ) A better comparison for the Canon M10 would instead be the cheaper Sony a5100 (which like the a6000 is also a 4 year old camera :-/ ).

To me it was obvious what ARRI's #1 focus of their demo reel for their new camera: skin tones.
-
Agreed, neither the EVA1 or a DVX200 is an "AF200" :-(
-
Or even quadruple! ha Knowing RED, the sky is the limit. Not on price. Which was at the core of the BMPCC's popularity. This I would like to see. Also I would like to just simply see a stand alone compact point and shoot with a 1" sensor and a prime lens like the CM1 is. Or like a RX100, but without the zoom, so it is even smaller, cheaper, and more robust.
-
In between those two you should have put: 1.5 We're getting yet another new smartphone with an "amazing" new teeny sensor in it! Oh wow! Probably is the mostly likely option after "nothing" as to what Samsung means (if anything). GH4 to GH5 was a bigger leap than the GH1 to GH2 or the GH2 to GH3

I missed out on a cracking good deal tonight because I paused too long to think about it :-( Got the email notification but rather than buying it immediately, I waited until I got home because I was busy working right then. A Sanken CUB-01 for only US$250! :-o https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sanken-CUB-01-Boundary-Microphone-TA5-For-Lectrosonics-CUB-01-PT-GY-Film-Sound/183050552610

Who is to say it is a one off? The "DVX300" might have it, who knows if another stills camera might use it (such as the GH6S? Not unusual to reuse a sensor across generations), or maybe a MFT camcorder below the EVA1 but above the GH5S. Lots of way they might be able to use the sensor again!
-
Not anywhere near as skeptical as you I'd say! ;-) And much more curious. But with now my focus instead on sound for the last few years, I highly doubt I'll be making a big camera purchase any time soon. B&H doesn't seem Zaxcom or Sonosax.... must not be any good?
-
Errr... it wasn't like they finished the GH5 and *THEN* started on the GH5S, rather it was started waaaaaaaaaaaaaay before
