x100000 agreed! Absolutely want crop marks, in a variety of options. It is such a simple thing, even the GH1 could've had it? Or the GH2.... or the GH3.... or GH4.... why on earth is it still missing??

Yes, it is one of the main reasons (along with XAVCS) why I picked the a5100 over the a6000 back when I made that purchasing decision

FS7 was very *slightly* cheaper until recently when Sony just put in all the price increases across the board for their cameras. C300 mk2 was up until recently *DOUBLE* the price of a FS7, but then Canon some weeks ago (well, more like a few months ago now? Forget the exact date, you can google it, was still very recent) put in a *massive* price drop on the C300 mk2 because it wasn't selling. But even after the big price drop, you're looking at paying thousands of dollars more for a Canon C300 mk2 than for a FS7 (and C300 mk2 has less features than a FS7). Most secondhand F5 will go for more than a new FS7 (though I've seen some surprising rare exceptions! Such as what I posted). Still, isn't too fair to compare used vs new.

This is why we need to see dual card slot recording to be more common place! Imagine a GH5 with two card slots, you leave this 1TB card in all day long as a safety back up, then you use 128GB cards which you swap in and back up along the way during the shoot day.

If you're going to buy a Canon DSLR and **not** use Magic Lantern then you're really throwing your money away. One of the few rare good reasons to consider a Canon DSLR for filmmaking is because of Magic Lantern.

I really hope they make 24fps a selectable burst rate (as now you're stuck between 20 or 30fps), as it would allow for longer bursts as well than on the 30fps setting.

I think there is a lot of logic to not do one big feature (which might take years, and has a high risk with you putting all your eggs in one basket) and instead doing a bunch of smaller features in the same year (thus if one or two are a complete flop it is not such a big deal, as one or two others will find some moderate success).

I've seen it being sold secondhand for US$350ish or less

That would be a very smart idea! But I'd have guessed an a7R mk3 or D820 would have a larger resolution than the 42.4MP sensor of the a99 mk2? Or maybe it will have that? And Sony will not bother chasing after the high resolution crown of the Canon 5DS. Of course I very strongly doubt an a7 mk3 or D750 mk2 would have such a high resolution! 30MP? Yes, maybe (but I hope it doesn't). But 42.4MP? Nope, not right for their target market.

A great pity 24fps is not selectable.....

Blue Yeti seems to be quite a popular for bloggers and such, if you're looking for a budget but quality one I'd say that is a sensible decision.

Perfect card to pair with your future 4K 60fps Panasonic GH5: https://www.sandisk.com/about/media-center/press-releases/2016/western-digital-demonstrates-prototype-of-the-worlds-first-1terabyte-SDXC-card I remember the day a 512GB card was announced (exactly 2yrs ago!) and damn... I wanted one, but it cost nearly double what I paid for my BMPCC! (as it was, I ended up spending as much on hyperfast SD cards for the BMPCC as I did on buying the camera itself!)

You can: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flange_focal_distance 46.50mm vs 44.50mm (EF is 44.00mm) Although, hmmmm..... maybe that half mm difference is why EF adapters exist but not Alpha Mount adapters: http://www.ebay.com/sch/Lenses-Filters/78997/i.html?_sop=15&_from=R40&_nkw=nikon+sony+mount+adapter But quite reasonable given the number of products Nikon has and their general life cycle. Very optimistically speaking we might see one of D750 or D810 upgraded before the end of the year. But more likely both will happen next year.

Looks like even the rumors about 6K video were half true! However how many external recorders can do 4K 60fps?

FZ2000 is impressive! Just wish they'd gone with constant f2.8 and a shorter zoom range. Like the Sony RX10 mk1/mk2 series. G80 is very appealing just for the IBIS but I think I'd rather get a heaps cheaper secondhand G7
-
Holy crap that F5 did indeed sell for very little! Damn. Wish I could have got that. Anyway, for the OP.... get an FS7, is a widely recognized and demanded camera which will get you work,

The Yi Xiaomi Action Camera got quickly hacked so I'm feeling optomistic hackers might bring something AWESOME to the Yi M1 as well! :-D

Damn Olympus is bringing something epicto the table. This is even better than the GH5 news in a heap of various different way. Hopefully this will push Panasonic to make the GH5 even better!

Is depressing reading on other places on the internet how quick the anti-MFT trolls are out, and of course their first red herring is "but it sucks at low light". This low light argument reminds me of the megapixel race, sure there was big benefits from going from 2 megapixels to 5 megapixels, 12 megapixels, but then at around 16 megapixels to 24 megapixels range... the arguments got a *lot* weaker. And for 99.9% of users we don't need 50 megapixels!Ditto low light, not being constrained by 50 ISO film is *AWESOME*, then getting to 200 ISO... great! And now we can do workable 800 and 1600 and even 3200 ISO! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyeKIOV-EZw Let's assume GH5 carries on and is one stop better even than that? How is that not a very workable ability to handle? Do we NEED to have clean 100,00 ISO?? Nah, that is over the top in nearly all cases. I'd rather pass on the unnecessary over the top extreme high ISO capabilities and have instead the well polished and extensive range of features that the GH5 will have.
-
I've noticed from video footage from IBC that there is something on top of the GH5..... am very pleased to see this, as I have many times suggested, that Panasonic is going with a Sony XLR-K2M audio addition instead of doing another YAGH again!

Yay, cheapest ever MFT 4K camera! :D I already have nearly a dozen Yi cameras (for 360VR), looking forward to checking out this new product! :-D The lenses are very tempting too, as you have a cheap zoom starting at 12mm (unlike the common 14mm) and have a very affordable 42.5mm f1.8 macro!
