Decent price, I wonder how it will compare with the PIXAPRO LED100D MKII? Aputure's is a lot more expensive, but is higher CRI and can be battery powered. http://www.indietips.com/pixapro-led100d-mk-ii-review/

I'll be at NAB, what would you like me to check out?
IronFilm replied to Jonesy Jones's topic in Cameras
Yeah, what ever happened to them?? -
You can already view 8K 360 videos on YouTube! & this is why I'm pretty happy settling with my Oculus DK1 and a 360 GoPro rig :-D Yes, and restricting it to a little less than 360 makes it a LOT easier hiding the crew (or lights, or whatever).

But did any of those years have their pavilion for 4K or 3D?? Nope! But VR does :-D I think also it is quite easy for all the existing players to push out a new 4K product, while VR is more complex, which means VR has a much greater presence of new players. People who have never been in a car (or rarely do) seem to get car sick easily, while frequent drivers don't. I think VR might be like that. And of course there are lots of people like me who never get car sick or VR sick, I even read in the car while facing backwards!

Does anybody find that slightly suspicious that they did that.... I'd noticed that earlier and was wondering "why"! I however have been doing my bit blogging with multiple articles on Kinefinity! :-) As I agree it is a damn shame there is so little mainstream coverage :-(

I'd LOVE to find some affordable dedolight clones!!

What makes you think the 5K and 4.6K are one and the same??
-
You only just bought an AF100? That is pretty cool seeing new owners still in mid 2016! What did you pay for it, US$500ish perhaps?

Sony FS5 firmware update version 2.0 - FS RAW costs $600 / 500 euros

When you have over 12 stops of dynamic range you're going to have issues squeezing all that info into only 12 bits of linear raw. -

Eh? The Samurai Blade is only 5 inches. The Samurai Blade is the older HD model that is only US$495 now -
I don't think ANY prosumer recorder exists that does 4K 120fps!! Doubt this camera will do it either

Wow this went off topic..... but in an entertaining way :-)

I have a Sony F3, so this monitor is looking very sweet stuff! I can keep the Atomos Samurai Blade for when I want smaller size, and use this when I want a bigger monitor or I want 60fps slow motion. Hmmm... am tempted! Could also buy a Sony A7s mk1 cheaply as my B cam and use this on it. -

Not a competitor with the Ninja Assassin, as it has SDI. -
I already have a NTG2 as the "more forgiving mic", what I want now is a 416 :-D Or even better, a Sanken CS-3e :-D Which is what I have my eye on at the moment. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/406096-REG/Sanken_CS_3E_CS_3E_Short_Shotgun_Microphone.html

Yup from the moment I saw that BMD had put that expansion port on their BMMCC I was expecting this kind of product to arrive! A perfect use for the expansion port on the side of the BMMCC -
It depends a lot on how it is "worse". If it has higher self noise, or worse handling noise, or etc etc then all of that is bad news. But if it has a slightly wider pick up pattern, then that is not necessarily "bad" news, but could be "good" news for some people (not me though).
-
hahaha, well that is obvious! But would have been funny if their "A7" monitor was a small 5 inch one to match the use of it for the A7 cameras ;-) :-P So it is like a slider/jib? Nifty! But damn does that look ultra WEIRD!! http://www.came-tv.com/cameaccordion-p-820.html How do you know it is "VERY comparable" to the Senn 416? That is a BIG ask! Could you find out its name? Doing a search for their current products did nothing: http://www.adorama.com/l/Video-Equipment/Audio-for-Video/Aputure~Video-and-Shotgun-Microphones

Huh? BMD VA does 60fps 1080

You do not need to use a battery on the back if you're using the handle with a battery in the handle, that is what they meant. And yes, it has a DC IN on the side as well.

What is native ISO for their 5K sensor? (I am guessing that is the answer for their 6K model which they gave you) I kinda like this as a "feature". Sometimes you might press and rotate round a button (say to put it upside down) as a reminder note to yourself. If it ends up being only global shutter, and not switchable, that wouldn't be so bad..... or if the 5K sensor has rolling shutter as good as the 4.6K sensor instead of as bad as the 6K sensor than that would also be on ok ish outcome.

Smart move to make nearly all of their announcements from BMD be available *NOW*! In the interview the BMD guy said "not yet", but they hope so and they are working on it to try and make it happen (but it isn't certain).
