Yes "13 stops" & global shutter might very well be a repeat of the BMPC4K / UM4K / AJA CION / etc sensor that we've all seen before. If so, count me out!

Sony FS5 firmware update version 2.0 - FS RAW costs $600 / 500 euros
IronFilm replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
FS700 raw is "denser" because there is a smaller dynamic range being put into that 12bits, or rather to say its has more bits available per stop. Which is why FS7 raw was initially a flop (less than one bit per stop of dynamic range). -
Really?? I can not see what is "crooked" there.

Looks like I have a hat to eat, there are no new BMD cameras this NAB. Thought they'd at least announce a variation on their existing models! (like a URSA Mini 4K MFT??? Oh well)
-
1D C was A cam. 5D mk3 seemed they just handed to some random guy to steal some bonus shots along the way, but all the attention was paid to doing the shot with the 1D C, while the 5D mk3 guy kinda just did his own thing alongside.
-
I did sound for a feature which was shooting that day with 5D mk3 ML raw and 1D C 4K

I mean affordable 360 for at least semi pro use

I'm crossing my fingers that NOTHING interesting in the 360 VR world in my "affordable" end of the segment gets announced :P :P As if so, then I can go ahead with my plans for a 360 video rig! :D YAY But if something game changing does get announced which is affordable and great, then I might need to chuck out all my work in researching the rig I want to build, and instead decide if I want to buy this instead?? So fingers crossed for a quite NAB on the affordable 360 video front ;-)

KineEnhancer: http://www.kinefinity.com/shop/k2f_en/?lang=en (you can also get it in EF mount)

Bergman never had 4K. Bergman never had 12 bit. Bergman never had raw. Bergman never had good slow motion capabilities. So explain why you NEED them? Or maybe they are really just a "want"? :-) Then you don't want a Scarlet-MX. You'll get better lowlight performance from even a BMPCC. Going from a Canon HFS-10 to a RED Scarlet-MX or similar is a *HUGE* leap. Is a good idea to learn to walk before attempting to race a marathon. Plus it indicates you're liking lacking in many other areas too, such as audio / lenses / lighting / rigging / etc and more. So even if you had the budget to buy say a RED Raven tomorrow, you should not! As you'd find once you get all that other stuff, then say a Panasonic GH4 would fit your budget better. Additionally, say a GH4 for instance, would take you easily months/years/decades to learn to make the most of it. By which point it would have depreciated away to be worth much much less, it is waaaaay far better to have done that with a cheap GH4 body than to have lost all that money on a RED camera which you never made the most of.

My statement had an unspoken "...so far" at the end of it. As I can't see into the future! So of course something else amazing might still yet come along.

If Panasonic releases a "Varicam LT Lite" then I think that will tempt many of us here on EOSHD! ;-) But certainly not expecting that at this NAB
-
It looks so small and cute :-D Photo is in Beijing Airport I am guessing?

hahaha, but also, good points made by Mattias We can get a little caught up just viewing it from our own perspective

No 4K. No slow motion. Not even any internal recording!! :-o But at least it has 10bit 422 Basically is kinda like a Sony PMW-F3 but a little smaller, with dual pixel AF, and waaaaaaaay more expensive! But I'd probably still prefer this over a C100 mk2 for the same price. Oh and wouldn't have EF-M mount. It is locking EF mount.

My prediction: Blackmagic will announce camera(s).
-
"April the 18th"?? I'm surprised it is not April the 1st. And yes I agree with the above commentator. KineFinity Terra was the big camera announcement of this year .
-
A few key points are missing.... What do you specifically NEED? What features do you "WANT"? What are you doing/using NOW? Also, as a general rule: never ever borrow money for a camera!! (Not unless you're very certain about a quick and healthy ROI)
-
Or go AF-D if you want to later on match it up with a Nikon DSLR for top notch quality stills as well.
-
They do have "sports mode" which massively reduces rolling shutter. Also the new 5K sensor will have a global shutter

I'll be at NAB, what would you like me to check out?

Yes 4K per sensor is good but an output of 4K for 360 video is just not really high enough, should aspire to more. For instance the Orah 4i referenced above says: "Maximum Video Resolution – 4096×2048 H.264 High Profile (4K)" Need to be very careful when reading the specs of these systems which say they are "4K", as could be 4K per sensor (good) or 4K in total (bad). I think you're missing my point completely.... 4K isn't enough!! (that won't provide quality 3D 360 videos) Or maybe we're just speaking two slightly different languages/terminologies and meaning two different things. Anyway.... it looks like GoPro is showcasing at NAB their set up: http://neurogadget.net/2016/04/09/gopro-will-showcase-omni-camera-nab-2016/27693 Will be heaps more expensive than a single GoPro 4 BE, but it should make quality 360 video be way more accessible to the masses. This might be what you're looking for? -

My point remains. -
What will Cinema EOS lineup be after NAB 2016?
IronFilm replied to photographer-at-large's topic in Cameras
Kinda kills the point of the Canon ME200S-SH as a gimbal/drone camera if you have to add on a heavy external recorder instead of going internal.
