Headphones worth checking out: https://wavreport.com/2020/09/07/review-halter-technical-elite-monitors/

ha! Fair point, but then again for cameramen it kinda makes sense as for them sound is (unfortunately) a low priority so minimal earbuds is an appropriate match for what they want/"need".
-
Any production that requires me to wear body armour would make me feel a bit anxious.
-
Just keep on using them! But buy one more extra lenses: on the wide end (such as Tokina 11-20mm f2.8), to keep your covered for the smaller APS-C/MFT sensors. Really don't get all the complaints about non-FF cameras, just because of the lenses they own currently. It is one of the easiest problems to solve!
-
They'd surely need to use a different mount? And having three mounts for three different sensor sizes, each only a stop apart, is the heights of insanity.
-
So what you're saying is clearly the GH6 is going to be a 12K camera? 😉
-
Really?? Wow. But I think the 7Q+ is overkill for a FS7, and also FS7 prices are around US$3K ish at the moment. So you could get a FS7 by itself for quite a bit less than NZ$6.1K But that's a solid price for the FS5, miiiiight have gone for it myself. (part of me is still wondering if I should have gone for that cheap Sony F5 on trademe a year ago, but probably good I didn't???)

I do use my 28-90mm lens a fair bit on my F3, used it last time I shot with the F3 a week ago. But of course depends on what you want to be shooting with it.

If this has 4K 10bit (which it surely does???) then I'm looking forward to the FS7 price drops!

Video Devices (aka Sound Devices) already let you use mSATA drives in their video recorders years ago.

What happens when you look at in Wave Agent?
-
No wonder we have so many people confused about sensor sizes and so called "crop factor" when the students' teachers are like that! Sigh

The "ModMic" is popular with many Production Sound Mixers so they can easily use their existing "industry standard" headphones with coms to talk to their boom op: https://antlionaudio.com He's just stating the facts. Don't attack him for that.

What "make it work" is there? Just have the lenses that work, and they work. And you wouldn't have distorted it just the same way with a 20mm lens on a FF35 camera?? (remember, that's 13mm S35!! I'll almost never see that used on a set. It is a bad day for me when it is! ha) No it does not "open up more flexibility in lens choice and framing options on set". In fact this is a common complaint from professional cinematographers, the limited number of cine FF35 lens sets there are. Exactly, FF35 is still completely "non-standard".
-
I have seen this argument "for" FF35 for many many years, and it is just ridiculous and wrong to say "I need a full frame FoV". All it proves is you made poor lens selections going into the project. Did you have a 12mm? How about a 10mm or 8mm? All of these are easily accessible and even quite affordable. Don't blame the tools for user errors. Because you can get almost any FoV that you wish with MFT! From the Laowa 7.5mm f/2 (or even wider if not going rectilinear, there is a 2.3mm fisheye lens for MFT!) to the Olympus 150-400mm f/4.5 (or even longer!!). When did one of us last need greater than 800mm FF35 or wider rectilinear than 15mm FF35? (that's the same as 10mm S35!!)
-
No, because the image circle for FT and MFT is the same. (hence the name!)

We know from the Terra 4K that the current generation GH5 sensor is already capable of 160fps 4K if they throw enough processing power at it. Does Sony have patents blocking this from happening? I think the GH5S sensor in a GH5 body (i.e. with IBIS) would be epic. But the GH5S sensor runs very hot, thus the GH5S couldn't have IBIS as that would prevent it from cooling down. Has enough time passed by for Panasonic to solve this problem, is it even possible? Dunno. It's name was YAGH, but "UGH" is more appropriate! They've got now the Panasonic DMW-XLR1 XLR Microphone Adapter, and I hope they keep compatibility with the GH6 so the DMW-XLR1 works with it too (the DMW-XLR1 already works with the GH5/GH5S/S1/S1R/S1H). But also I'd like to see a "Panasonic DMW-XLR2" which adds: An independent SDI output BNC connector for switchable in/out timecode 3.5mm stereo input for recording channels 3/4 Aside from anamorphic features, and DMW-XLR1, why would I still choose the GH5 over the G9 with DMW-SFU1?
-
The large size (15.6"), high resolution (it is actually UHD! Not like these other "4K monitors" which merely mean it can take a 4K input, but are only a 1080 screen in reality), low-ish weight & power demands (2Kg & ≤18W), and various features (SDI / quadview / PIP / etc) all make it quite appealing for the low price of around US$600! http://www.seetec.cn/ShowInfo.aspx?id=190&py=SEETEC-15-6-4K-Broadcast-Monitor-with-IPS-UHD-3840x2160-4xHDMI-Quad-Split-Display-4K156-9HSD

Because MFT has more flexibility of lens choices.

For me, this is the headphone with a mic built in: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/766095-REG/Remote_Audio_HN7506DBC_HN7506DBC_HN_7506_High_Noise_Headphones.html

Maybe. Maybe not. You'd also be shooting with a larger pixel size.

https://michaelcioni.tumblr.com/post/12545974259/scarlets-web Interesting, the rental houses never planned to make money from the Sony F35? But rather it was a loss leader to keep the clients coming back to them.

This isn't a big deal at all, you can just have smart variable re-scaling, like the JVC LS200 does! You can set it manually. Doesn't have to be 7.4K in S35, it could be a bit lower resolution (6K) and still be 4K when in 4/3" mode. Was using that so much today with my Sony PMW-F3 while doing voxpops on the street, it is so handy to be able to do it while recording.
