Will the Metabones Canon FD Speedbooster - MFT work on a BMPCC? Has anyone tried this yet?
-
Found this mock up comparison, thought some might be interested. http://wolfcrow.com/blog/a-fun-comparison-between-the-late-blackmagic-production-camera-4k-and-the-rumored-panasonic-gh4-4k-camera/

Just saw this on FB group. Apparently the Mitakon Lens Adapter for MFT does work fine on BMPCC which was reported by Cheesycam as not working!! Here's the proof...
-
Ok. then there is a strong rumour then! Someone here might know something more hopefully?

Ok I'm gonna pull the trigger on this Lens and also buy the Nikon BMPCC Metabones adapter in a couple of weeks. What I'd like to ask is, do you think I should wait to see if metabones brings out an EOS adapter? I would rather buy a Canon mount 18 -35mm because I a 600D and other Canon Lenses etc. Would hate to go Nikon then a few months later a Canon adapter comes out? Any thoughts or rumours?
-
Do you mean the silver collar of the mount or inside the lens?

I bought a Cosmicar 25mm 1.8 C mount lens. I'm pretty sure it has a focus problem. The aperture works fine but the lens does not move and does not focus. ie There is no movement in the focal length when I wind in or out. Can I fix this? I am an Audio Engineer and Electronic Tech so I have the tools etc to pull this apart and have a nosy!! Can anyone direct me to a link or tutorial as I've never pulled a Lens apart before? (And if I can't fix it, I can fix it so that no one can!!) ;)

Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Review - Final Part
Henry Gentles replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Here is the link. Very rough, quick shoot to see what I had type thing. It's a bit out of focus, moving around hand held and I could hardly see the screen. Shot at 2.5f which I thought looked washed out but everyone seems to shoot washed out so I thought I'd be ok. Color corrected for cooler areas but as soon as I point to daylight it's washed out a bit. I should have edited out the rubbish but I actually like analysing out of focus bokeh stuff. -
Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Review - Final Part

Just got my EOS - M43 adapter today in the post and tried my Zeis Jena 35mm F2.4 on the BMPCC and I gotta say, astonishing!! Never thought it would look this good, very sharp, deep colours, very surprised! This combination looks so awesome, buries my Lumix 14mm 2.5 which actually looks great imo but the Zeis is in another category and the camera responds to the better glass! And I'm shooting Prores cause I don't have a faster sdcard yet. This is a game changer, no doubt whatsoever!! -
Thanks guys very helpful!!

What codec/resolution should I use to render my films for Youtube or Vimeo? Does anyone know what Andrew Reid or Philip Bloom et al render to?

Does having to change to HD in Youtube really piss you off?

This will change it immediately with no waiting and no lag, HD on demand, no frigging around to select it even though you selected to always play HD in your Youtube preferences, but it doesn't fn work properly!! This will play HD 100%, if you use Chrome!! Enjoy.... :D http://www.autohdforyoutube.com/ ps. In the tools/settings, you can set it to 720p or 1080p by clicking on options button.

Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Review - Part 1 - Worth the hype?
Henry Gentles replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
That's a great point and it's kinda obvious too!! It's not a stills camera, it should have been shaped like a camcorder? -
Logic has alot of extras like software synths and comprehensive plugin suite. Reaper is actually free, there is a 5 second wait for it boot but thats it, no crippleware, fully functional in shareware. I would use both if I were you, Reaper is great for quick edits and will even render video! I use Protools, which is the best for video audio with Media Composer and the plugins work in both applications ie cross compatible.

Sweet!! edit: Scored a 2nd hand Comiscar 25mm C mount lens too for $30 delivered.
-
Are you using the gf2 hack Andy? Does it make a big difference, been reading the site but its a bit confusing?
-
Great idea thanks again!! edit: Bought a 2nd hand GF3 with a 14mm for $230. Only been used 4 times, so basically as new!! nearly bought a 14mm lens from Hong Kong before your suggestion for $200 new, but now I get the camera too for $30 more, brilliant idea!!

Having looked at alot of options, yes this looks like the best bang for buck and the best option to start a lens collection. Thanks!

What do you think of the Sigma Art Lenses, 19mm and 30mm? Gets excellent reviews and very cheap?
-
oh I didn't mean literally 50mm but rather like the bargain lens for EF is the 50mm 1.8, dirt cheap and is sharp and great IQ. M4/3 doesn't seem to have a bargain no brainer lens, just an ok 14 -42mm?
-
Yeah, image is soft, background is sharp!! Shame.
