Panasonic Leica 25mm f/1.4 or Olympus M.Zuiko 25mm f/1.2 Pro for the GH4?
midloch replied to Michael Ma's topic in Cameras
Take Pana Leica 25mm f 1,4. It is a great lens for the price. Just check my a short Mazda Cosmo video I made yesterday, wide shots are done by Samyang 12mm T2,2 and all the others by Panasonic Leica 25mm F 1,4: -
Yes I was thinking about is, but do you think that thare is not much difference between 10,5 and 12mm? Also Voigh is one stop faster but if GH5 will be a stop better than GH4 there will be almost no difference.

Hi guys, I use Panasonic G6 (m4/3) and now I am looking for a wide angle and very fast lens (I shoot in bad light situations in a big garage). I make on a car restoration project and the widest lens I have is Panasonic pancake 14mm F 2,5 but it seems that this lens is not wide enough especially if I shoot inside of a car and even if I want to shoot the whole car from my jib. The best lens I have found is Voigtlander Nokton 10.5mm f/0.95 with almost no distortion but the price is 1099 USD... Please what would you recommend istead of this nice lens? I thik that Sigma 18-35 F1,8 with Metabones speedbooster XL is the only solution (still not as wide as Voig.) but it would cost even more than the Voigtlander and also the weight is too much to use it for hand-held gimbal... Thank you!

Guys, I am so so much curious what will GH5 be! I hope so much that it will come with IBIS and better low light performance. Now I use very simple camera Panasonic G6 even for paid jobs. It is incredible a small piece of miracle that alows me to earn some extra money :-) This is the last video. The first episode of fast car video log this time wih the beast: Lamborghini Diablo VT: https://vimeo.com/183098726

Magix Sony VEGAS Pro 14 to have native Prores support & cost $199 only
midloch replied to LimitBreak's topic in Cameras
I use Sony Vegas and I think it is the best editing software. I tried Premiere and FCPX but SV Pro 13 is much easier and much friendly SW :-) I am so glad that SV is not dead! -
I have come across this nice 4K big screen LG34UM95 for very reasonable priced http://4k.com/monitor/a-review-of-the-lg-electronics-um95-34um95-34-inch-screen-led-lit-monitor/ What do you think?

Hi guys, I am looking for a good monitor for video editing what do you think about ultrawide monitors like Dell UltraSharp U2913WM see: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2414974,00.asp? Is it better solution than to go with a "standard" monitor like Dell U2715H see: http://designdesktop.com/monitor/dell-ultrasharp-u2715h-review-is-dells-new-monitor-the-best-27-inch-monitor-around/? I use Sony Vegas for video editing. Thanks!

Hi Ebrahim, I totally agree with you. SE Pro 12 or 13 is the best NLE on the market. Lately I made some project together with my friend using his Premiere it can not be compared to SV at all in terms of simplicity. Please what exact type is your i7?

Hi guys, I use Sony Vegas Pro 12 and I am about to upgrade my pc. I know that SV Pro does not support GPU while editing (and preview) but uses only CPU. This requires a huge CPU power. Now I want to switch to 4K but I have read that you must have a really strong pc especially for non proxy editing. Please what is yout setup for smooth 4K editing with Sony Vegas?
-
Yes you are right but what should I do as the first steps to find out the bottleneck? I am not much skilled pc man and even my pc is made by my friend who works as a "java programator".
-
I have read all your story about 4K :-) So I think that I need much more powerfull GPU (also GPU can be used for rendering in Sony Vegas) so what do you think is GTX 970 ok or maybe is better to buy something like GTX 980 GAMING 4G?
-
The problem is that even fullHD footage with a loads of grading makes the preview on my timelines not going smooth and it is very hard to edit. Lately I have increased RAM from 8GB to 32GB and add another SSD for system only but it seems not to be sufficient. I have read a lot of advice but some many of them say that for 4K editing I must have powerfull graphics card and i5 CPU is ok some say that i5 is not ok so I do not know if to buy a new CPU or if a new graphics car for example GeForce GTX970 will be enough.

Hi guys, I consider to edit 4K AVCHD from GH4 and also RED Epic footage in Sony Vegas 13 Pro and I made some upgrades. The most important is that I put system on one separate SSD and videos for the project are on second separate SSD. But still I am lost and not sure what to do better to edit the footage smoothly if I should to change my graphic card or even CPU or both or somethiong more that I do not know? Current setup is: RAM: 32GB (DDR3) DRAM frequency 666,5Mhz CPU: Intel Core i5 3350P Graphics: GeForce GTX 650Ti Mainboard: MSI Z77A-G43 Gaming Thank you a lot!

Hi Andy, pls do you have (and can you share with us) some footage from your G7 paired with metabones that you think it is the best? Thank you!
-
Yes you are right. We had 2 Arri lights but still there was a lot of light from tubes. Color grading was done by my colleague and I also think that we should do it with less green. These are only the first shots and they will be base for final project. We will do some rides with very very rare Ferrari in one month + talks with owners of the company so all the project will be done in 2 months :-)

Hi guys, I have started to follow this forum 3 years ago. The reason was simple I wanted to learn from the others. At that time I shot documentary and expedition videos with a small Sony handycam all in automatic mode but I felt that I should make it better but I did not know anything about shutter speed, ISO, lenses, aperture etc. So I read, read, read and ask other people here. So I bought Panasonic G6 and made many projects. By the time I improved my skills and started to ask money for my work. 2 months ago me and my friend got a great project to shoot and as there was some good budget we decided to shoot it with something special, something I only dreamt of :-) My friend has some experience with Red Epic so we borrowed all the gear and now we shoot car project about restoring and trading valuable cars. This is our first result that will be on LCD at a big car fair show in Germany this month. I think that going to eoshd helped me a lot, so thank you all the people here! http://vimeo.com/158794434

Hi there, I produce expedition documentary movies from very very remote and wild parts of our planet with no help and of course no electricity. Places like Kombai tribes in Papua (Irian Jaya), Amazonia aborigines, Mentawai tribes in Siberut or mountain tribes in Burma and so on... Last time I made a film from Venezuela. It was a 12 days expedition to Salto Angel the highest waterfall in the world falling down from mesa Ayuan Tepui. All was shot on Panasonic G6, very reliable camera as you can see here: So in my oppinion I think that Panasonic cameras are more resistant than for example Sony A7SII (my friend who did expedition to South Pole with A7SII complainted a lot as it is so fragile camera not made to such tough enviroment). And for travel purposes are more resistant and easy to handle. From my point of view I vote for Panasonic GH4 with XL speedbooster + Sigma 18-35mm F/1.8 that is a travel beast :-)

Hi guys, I have come accross a video of GH5 that was uploaded 2 days ago. He claims that it was shot as a test video with kit lenses and with VLog2. What do you think is it real? In my oppinion the shots looks pretty cool.
-
And what about to wait for GH5? I hope that there will be some more info about it soon. I also plan to buy a new cam this year and I can not wait if some news leaks :-) . I think that Panasonic is aware the bad low light capabilitiy and GH5 is going to be improved as they are facing Sony A7...

Thank you a lot fuzzynormal. You are right, this year I have so far worked on 8 paid projects but I hope at least 2 are comming and I put there in a showreel 2016. Midloch

Hi guys, I have just finished my first showreel of some commercial projects I did this year. What do you think and what is your suggestions about showing others what you can do? Do you think that this showreel can attract some potential customers who want promotional videos for their companies? What are your showreels you use to propagate yourself?
