When is "Good Enough" Enough? The rise of mirrorless and the jump to 4K.

Thanx a lot TheRenaissanceMan! My settings on G6 is -5,-5,-2,-2. The picture is really very flat. I do not use any LUTs or Magic Bullets looks etc. in Sony Vegas, all is graded shot by shot manually. Firstly I decrase colors by "black and white" function then use Color Corector + saturation+gain+gamma+offset, after I play with RGB color curves. I also use the film grain background to make the picture more "organic". The lenses I mostly use are Panasonic 25mm F1,4 then Panasonic 14mm F 2,5, for longer shots Canon FD 85mm F1,8 and also Practicar Pentacon 135mm F 2,8. It is very important to use correct ND, I use only fixed ND 8 and 4 and 12. As G6 and also my lenses are not stabilised it is somertimes hard to make proper shots when climbing the Tepuy or when wading through the swamp in the jungle -

I do not think that G6 is old hat. It is still very capable camera. This adventure movie from Venezuela Ayuan Tepui was all shot on G6 (except of some GoPro shots): -
So it means that if I buy Tokina 11-16mm with Nikon F mount then buy adapter Nikon F to Nikon AiS (I hope it exists) it is possible to connect with my Zhyongi speedbooster (AiS to M4/3)?
-
Tokina is only electrical aperature changable? It means that if I want this lens work I must buy only Metabones EF XL SpeedBooster?

Hi Guys, I have Tokina ATX PRO 28-70 F2,6 bayonet Nikon AiS connected with Panasonic G6 by + Zhyongi speedbooster (AiS to M4/3) Now I am thinking about wider lens Tokina 11-16mm F 2,8. Is it possible to connect Tokina 11-16mm with my AiS Zhyongi speedbooster? My be someday I will buy Metabones EF Speed Booster XL which Tokina mount should I buy? Tahanx for your reply! :-)

Hi PannySVHS! glad to hear this :-) FDs are great and I use them a lot but now I test Tokina ATX Pro 28-70mm F2.6-2.8 + Zhyongi speedbooster used in last part of this video and it seems to have much better look than FDs. Your vid is vere very shaky and it is hard to say if there is something bad in codec or renderig. If I were you I would make it again using tripod, upload on vimeo and then you can see if there is any problem or not. Mostly I shoot 24p but if I need to slow down the footage I use 50p. I work with Sony Vegas pro12 so if there are two different frame rates shots I click "disable resamle" and render to 24p .mxf format. I think that this has the best result and there are no problems on Vimeo and it is goes smoothly. Midloch

Thanks to Andy Lee I bought Tokina ATX Pro 28-70mm F2.6-2.8 + Zhyongi speedbooster. I used them firstly in this promo video project and I think this is awesome connection! The difference between Panasonic lenses used from 0 minute - 2min. 28sec of the video is obvious and gives the picture completely different character:

Nice cut nice shots but I am not sure if D750 performs video better compared to much much cheaper Panasonic G6. In my oppinion G6 produces better "filmic" picture. This is a short promo by G6, and I am glat to choose this small beauty over Nikon and Canon:

Thanx to Andy Lee this is my new beast lenses Tokina 28-70mm f2.6-2.8 AT-X Pro II + Zhongyi Turbo :-)

You said one very important thing that expensive films on modern TV look so cheap! YES, I have noticed this many times but only on LCD (LED) TVs that now rule our homes. Fortunately 3 years ago I bought PANASONIC NEO PLASMA TV 165cm. The picture and as you say the "motion cadence" is much much much better than any LCD (LED) TV. These last plasma Panasonic TVs (the production was ended) are the best I have seen so far and the picture quality is the same as in true cinema.

I think that this is maximum that Panasonic G6 can do :-) http://vimeo.com/126045281

And Andy, do you think that this Carl Zeiss Flektogon 2,8/20 JENA DDR is better than Panasonic 14mm F 2.5? I consider replacing my Pana 14mm as it is hard to sharpen by them...
-
Hi guys, please what do you think about this lens: Carl Zeiss Flektogon 2,8/20 JENA DDR? Is it ok for my Panasonic G6 and does it keep a good quality if I use it with RJ or Mitakon speedbooster?
-
Hi guys, I took my G6 to my karate gym so I think the result looks good I am glad it survived :-)
-
bluefonia which Samyang do you want to buy 12mm F2 or 12mm CINE T2.2? Which is better for G6?
-
Hi guys, what do you think about Carl Zeiss Tevidon 2/10? Does it make sense to buy this lens as a wide lens for m4/3 (Panasonic G6)? Thanks a lot for your info!

Hi utsira, thanx a lot! I mostly use tripod+slider and i works like a rig :-) When walking I use flycam Sabre x-cam.

Hi guys, does anyone know something about Tokina TV Lens 12,5-75/1,8 (C-mount)? I have not found any videos and I am not sure if it would be a good lens for m4/3 (Panasonic G6):

G6 is a great option, easy to operate and quality is perfect. This is my a brand new short shot about yoga by G6 I used lenses Panasonic 25mm F 1.4 and Panasonic 14mm F 2.5 + Hoya ND4:
