Nope. A9 camera has been rumored with those specs (20fps, dual SD, .....) so either we get a A7SIII and there wont be any A9. Either the camera announced next month is a A9S. => high propability to get A9S, A9 and A9R as a pro line versus A7

10bit would be nice. However i would rather get a nice 8 bit c-log image from a 1DC than a crappy color 10bit image from a Sony. so I would rather have them first look into color science, then we can talk 10 bit. Cant wait for next month. A7SIII is gonna blow some minds. let's all thank Panasonic for forcing Canon to give us C-Log and Sony to up their game. Also the body will have apparently 20fps and pro speed features for photography. So brace yourselves for the price...

Hahahahahaha get out of your cave man. The "MF is for pro, AF for small hobbyists" is a thing of the past. Not so long ago we used MF in photography. Do you know many pro photographers shooting weddings photography in MF?? Nope. For video we are right at the curve now. In 5 years from now, 5% of pros using A7S like bodies will shoot MF in video. When you have used a Canon DPAF system you know it's the real deal, not only making your life a lot easier, but opening your creativity allowing shots impossible before (or very difficult for a one man operation). Good luck run and gunning with swallo DoF with a DJI Ronin gimbal and your Manual focus camera mounted on it.

I predict that an A7SIII will be announced next month with GH5 like specs (probably not 10bit though?) with monstruous AF, dual SD, and lots of improvements. rumors have been going in this way for a long time. Worth waiting IMO. GH5 with speed booster and shit AF is a no go for me in 2017. Even though I am buying it for my patagonia trip (the best camera is the one available now.....) I might get rid of it asap.

For me it isn't about recording time it is about trekking for 1 week in the mountains without any power source and without the wish to bring 10 batteries with me. One 20.000 mah powerbank will charge camera, phone, gps... Also the convenience of' not bringing a dedicated charger while traveling. This is really bummer. I can't get how they can fuck up something so easy to not fuck up. Frustrating. Well I am still receiving mine but might return it after testing it in Patagonia

Now we are talking. : Yesterday we reported we were pretty sure that the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV would get C-Log via a firmware update that will likely be announced at NAB next month. We can now confirm that to a certainty that it’s coming. However, we do not have a release date for the firmware. We’re now asking sources if the Canon EOS-1D X Mark II will see a similar firmware update, we’ll report back on that as soon as we’re able to. There has been another suggestion that Canon has been actively looking at ways to “improve” the 4K video capture crop on the EOS 5D Mark IV. Yep I did, Mk2 was great because of having this video capability and the 3 too for Magic Lantern. They had the potential to become leader not only in DSLR photography but also dslr and mirorless video. They fucked it up. A Mk4 with proper video specs (at least A7r2 specs) would have been great. A Canon mirorless with those specs would have been amazing (adding better lenses, ergonomics, menus, colors to the A7r2 basically) and a Canon FF mirorless with exact GH5 specs would be the last and only camera I need for years not gonna happen.

Lol, sensor Wise yes. Spec wise my sweet spot is: mirorless body/tilt screen/Canon menus, colors and AF/4k60p/1080@240p/IBIS Doesn't look to be 98% of cameras to me. I say my spot for sensor in video is M43/apsc/FF because any camera with one of these sensor size with the specs I mention would be my dream camera. for photography though I need a FF sensor.

Canon is an atrocious and ridiculous company I can't respect at all. Won't explain why I think this, Andrew did it enough on this blog for the past years and its quite obvious anyway. unlike andrew though, I am not buying any canon gear since the Mk3 (got the 5d2 and 3) which means since 4 years. Fuck them honestly.

Medium format is NOT ready to replace FF. too much compromise (Lenses at F2.8 or F4 ? Seriously?) Already constraints are huge on a FF body (heat management...) Today the easy sensor for video is M43 cause we can get amazing specs (GH5) easily. Medium format is just not ready for a video usage, when technology evolves yeah why not I will take it. For now for me the sweet spot is FF for photography and M43 or APSC for video (or FF if anyone gives me a FF body with GH5 specs, which no company seems to give me..)

Great review thanks completely agree only cons for me is no 4k60p and FHD120-180p. A deal breaker when i have a GH5 at same price. If specced like this, I would have got the Olympus for the better ergonomics and better IBIS

I have done this test with the new d-log released few days ago compared to other color mode. Color grade is horrible, it is just to see how it holds up see the comment in my YouTube description log is no good for Mavic

relax man. 2nd degree exists. " AF is 'THAT' important, why would you even waste your time in a GH5 thread?" Because as I pointed, many other things are important, and the GH5 is the camera that thicks most boxes for sub 2K$ today. It is just a big shame I think for the AF. Maybe if I, and other point it out all over the web Panasonic will listen to customer. Does not hurt to say what u think. But sorry for wasting time on this thread man.......
