    GH5 Prototype

    From V-LOG 10 bit 4k?
  2. Thanks. Cant wait to see how well or not it works. I would be happy with A6300 level. For me it's all about usability in the field. Specs are amazing cant complain. Yes it is not FF, yes it has not the best DR, but I think a very good image can still be obtain. Again for me it is all about usability in travel which means IBIS, slowmo, ergonomics, .... and continuous AF in video.
  3. I am at work and cant see. Does he talk about AF in video? Works well?

I really want good video AF too. This speech from Pana is not cutting it. Is there any good exemple of its usability in the videos released?
  5. Video continuous AF is what scares me in this camera..

    GH5 Prototype

Since we can't have our hands on it for a while it would be amazing if you could do a test of continuous AF let's say walking towards someone's face. TO see if it is on part with Sony A6300

    GH5 Prototype

Confirmed: NO PDAF in GH5 VLOG is a paid upgrade shit this is such a disappointment especially the first one.... maybe I wait A7S3 with 4k60p and A6500 AF.

    GH5 Prototype

Except they know it sucks in video and they know Their camera is video oriented. If even Olympus who is not video oriented has better CAF in video than them... they should question themselves. If no good C-AF in video then I am really disappointed by the GH5. Once you try this on a Canon body it's hard to look back
  9. http://www.canonrumors.com/magic-lantern-lets-you-shoot-lossless-14bit-dng-in-camera/ Not bad... this on the 1DX2 will do a hell of a camera. Do you think it will come on the 1DX2 or just the 5D4 because of the dual processor?

    GH5 Prototype

It has 225 AF points vs 49 before. Those that mean the addition of PDAF??
  11. Has the guy who has been ripped off here refunded since then? I followed the whole story but then no news. Since the beginning of my time on EOSHD I have hated this guy, looked from the beginning that he was the guy spending his life behind the PC testing and commenting on things he did not even use. Yet people here were drinking his speeches...
  12. Sounds good. http://www.canonrumors.com/is-an-8k-eos-1d-c-replacement-coming-cr1/
  13. It wont be available in Jan. It will be up for preorders in Jan then ship later, probably march. Since it is not available before march, and I have a trip in patagonia in February, I purchased a GX85 in the meantime. Plan to get the 12-35mm and 42.5 1.7 and will just sell the body when GH5 arrives. Deal I got is insane. GX85 + 12-32 + 45-150 + 100$ gift card for 699$. Re selling everything could even give me profit. The only thing I worry about is Sony. For sure in 2017 they will give us a A7S3 with GH5 specs (4K60p, 10 bits,...) But then again if it is A7 shitty ergonomics and so on I might as well stick with the GH5. I have the feeling that above M43 sensor for video you have to many constraints (like for exemple the stabilisation that is not effective on A7SII because of FF sensor size...) and cannot have a perfect photo and video body anyway (maybe 1Dx2 but too big, too costly, not the best in photo for my application, ..)
  14. Hello, is there a XL speedbooster for Nikon, and does it allow autofocus like the canon one? is manual focus easy on the GX85 (precise peaking..?)
  15. Can you share the price and place you found it please? Thanks
  16. I agree with both Andrew and you. Andrew you post a post per 15 days. So it is "doable" to not have a lot of ads. But when you have a huge website that reviews ALL cameras, and all news with multiple full time employee. How do you pay them if not with money earned through ads? I am fine with ads and affiliate links. But I agree with Andrew that non honest reviews and "fake" sponsored articles are disgusting.
  17. I have the same problematic but leaning towards the 12-35 basically the better IS in video is the deal. Also if GH5 gets a good AF for video I guess it will work better with Panasonic lenses? the closer range and macro of the Oly are nice. But to compensate I will get a 42.5mm 1.7 that is good in term of very close focusing and even better range than the Oly. With this two lens you have a killer Dual Is combo for anything between 24 to 85mm and the 1.7 aperture is important for those sweet bokeh shots vs the 2.8 seems the best combo for me.
  18. Thanks. I have looked and will get the 1.7 over the 1.2, such a good deal for the price for the 12-35 vs the Oly I don't know though..
  19. I am getting a GX85 because the GH5 arrives in march and I go to Patagonia in February.. For those who have info or tried, does the Dual IS vs just the IBIS make a big difference in video? I would like a Panasonic 12-35mm f2.8 or the Oly 12-40mm f2.8 which is better but with no IS (therefore no Dual IS possible with the GX85). For video, is Dual IS clearly better than using the IBIS + let's say the 12-40mm Olympus? If dual IS makes a big difference, my combo will be the 12-35mm f/2.8 + maybe the 42.5mm f/1.2 IS Thanks
  20. Not for many more years. Canon made great camera until the 5D2-3 their APSC line is garbage. the success of canon today is because of their lenses. But this will change. Sony is better and better. If canon does not wake up they will eventually die

    GH5 Prototype

Any word on AF? Interestingly no rumor on this. Will it be unusable like the GH4 or great like a Sony A6300, that's the biggest questions for me with the GH5. For the rest we already know it's gonna be great with good 10 bit 4K, IBIS etc.
  22. Of course, I agree. I was speaking about travel run and gun with dynamic shots handheld
  23. The best videos I have ever seen on Vimeo, that made millions of views, were all done with no ND, in semi auto mode, with little grading. I think here we always try to over complicate things, with all these settings and heavy gradings and so on. At the end we focus less on the image. btw, the last video I have done I tried once to just shoot. Forget about settings and concentrate on what I am capturing. Guess what, it's the best video I have ever done. I shot multiple stuff with ND and shooting manual outside with the 180 rule is a pure nightmare. Completely impacts creativity and spontaneity of the shoot. My 2 cents.
  24. I couldn't agry more with RAW dynamic range of M43 vs FF. I repeated that for years yet people tell you M43 is as good. It does not mean though that a FF is in any case a monster in DR. 5D3 for exemple is awful compared to Sony sensors. What is sure is that a good m43 sensor cannot come close to a good FF sensor. For video I find it way less problematic though. Since there is no body satisfying me in term of both video and photo (the 1dx2 being the closest but lacks multiple feature for its price both in photo and video) I am more and more seing myself with a D810 that is unbeatable for DR and landscape photo with a 14-24 attached (+ a 50 or 85 for occasional portraits), and a GH5 with the 12-35 2.8 attached which will be unbeatable for video I think. My only fear being the AF of the GH5. If only Panasonic could deliver at least a A6500 level, not even mentioning canon DPAF. 1DX2 is no go for me. Don't come close to D810 in DR, video codec is no good, and no essential IBIS (especially if you take the best lenses they don't have IS, like the 24-70 2.8, or any good prime)
  25. There is a test on youtube it heats faster than the 4 this is sony improvement from a camera to another lol I believe the AF is the cause since it is the only change
