  1. Well thank you. But this is not precise at all, and in most musics the beats is not clearly heard which makes it super hard to do. Is there not anything like a plugin that can analyse the track and automatically place markers?
  2. Well if you are then start by send me all your cameras and lenses please, thanks
  3. Andrew was supposed to post it ages ago.. but no news.
  4. Interesting comparison with 5DS http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1380165/2
  5. Yep let's see futur test. Again, I was the first one on this forum applauding Sony for A7RII. I have no pbm with heating when video (I don't record more than 1min each time) for instance. I would love a 2 seconds HFR recording and would not mind having 2sec only. . We all have different use and expectations... I was just like if it has problem at long exposure, and that on top of that older lower res camera like D810 do better DR at base ISO then I am just question the camera and might see more value in D750/810 + RX100IV. Also, I have always wanted 1 camera that do it all because I only use my camera when traveling. But I found out that I miss always some shots because of this. Because I do timelapse that require 1 camera used for hours... So my real need would be 3 cameras: 1 timelapse cheap APSC like D5200, 1 FF for stills and 1 for video. 2 might be a good compromise... Let's see. The Chris: I know it is same image but still, CO is way less exposed so at same exposure level maybe the confeti would appear as well. By the way: the Roman Forum pic above was taken with 5DIII. I took 2 exposures and as you can see even with 2 exposures the DR was shit. Obviously I let the sky blown out by purpose, but I could not restore it completely if I would want it anyway. => DR is important. => I do better and nicer pics, with better DR with D5500 (see last 4 pics on my gallery: https://500px.com/loup_f ) than with 5DIII. Funny, isn't it...
  6. We just have different real worlds man. I like to work with 1 RAW and 1 exposure. See this shot of mine for instance: https://500px.com/photo/83554575/roman-forum-by-loup-fsr?ctx_page=1&from=user&user_id=860266 Imagine it was a long exposure (which could have been the case if not for those nice birds) and that I can't get back my shadows like on the picture without having some confettis, well no go. The fact that the DR at short exposure at base ISO is worst than D810 is also not super nice, I mean considering the sensor is brand new.. I am sorry for my expectations when speaking about 3500$ cameras.
  7. Lol calm down. This is not my test at all. An exemple among dozens on the web. The question is not "do I capture 15s shots of my garden?" the thing is this problem did not exist on A7RI. The biggest problem is being the very reduced DR at long exposure (which does again not happen on a 5D for example). The Chris: funny but the Capture One and Adobe pics you posted don't have the same exposure at all. This problem occurs actually when pushing exposure. Moreover, you were talking about a pic with caps on which is not the case at all, so yes, still ridiculous. If you are not able to push your exposure because of heat and if the DR is reduced, at long exposure then yes it is a no go for me in landscape. If activating NR change that (what about the DR?) then why not. The rule has always been to actually turn off NR for long exposure ... Anyway I see that it is impossible to critic a camera here without people getting defensive as hell.
  8. I am not sure who is ridiculous here. With lens cap on? This is what you call lens cap on? http://***URL removed***/forums/thread/3885329?post=56283045&image=1 => stop telling BS 5 or 6 stops and lift the shadow all the way up? Really ? exposure is only up by 3.40 in lightroom, no touch to shadows (see seetings on lightroom screen capture above) => stop telling BS Now have a deep look at this image, with exposure raised and how HORRIBLE it looks. This does not happen with any of the camera I have had. So before talking like this to people who nicely share their tests, watch for yourself first because what you said is just the most idiotic and BS ridiculous post I have seen on a forum since a while. Oh and by the way, get yourself some glasses and learn how to search on Google (tons of other exemples appart from this dpreview one).
  9. Speak for yourself. This is what you call 2 dead pixel ? http://***URL removed***/forums/thread/3885329?post=56283045&image=0 Taken with A7RII, long exposure.
  10. I would live with compression issue as I have seen nice work with A7R. Even though colors and contrast are bad (see my article here: Fun story A7R / 5D III ) But this long exposure DR and noise problem... I had a D5500 during my trip in the rockies where I filmed this video featured in the huffington: http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2015/08/10/canadian-rockies-video_n_7967942.html Also, I did these pictures with it: https://500px.com/photo/116472669/false-creek-by-loup-fsr https://500px.com/photo/116251089/star-over-assiniboine-by-loup-fsr https://500px.com/photo/116327471/reflection-pool-by-loup-fsr The D5500 grades easy and well compared to GoPro and Phantom 3, I was amazed actually. So I am thinking more and more getting Nikon for video & photo, and RX100 for 4K/slowmo/portability. Looks like a great combo. Only thing is that I don't know why I have always preferred Canon to Nikon. Let's see the 5DIV I am 98% sure it will be 4K. Cheers.
  11. Zach, I am not gonna spend my time posting links but I have seen this issues reported from at least 5 people from different forums. Do a search .. I was the first to applaud when Sony announced it. It just seems we can't have a perfect photo video FF camera. I do a lot of landscapes and long exposure is a must for me. Right now now only solution is D750/810 and RX100 which also gives high frame rates. Just wish I had one camera to do it all... Might hold until 5DIV maybe.
  12. I was completely sold on the A7rii as I need a still/video FF camera. For landscape and video. well as you can see the DR falls Appart in long exposure and some horrible noise come due to heat. Non usable... http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/the-a7rii-issues-post-autofocus-problems-and-again-pre-cooked-raw/ sounds like I will get a rx100iv for 4k and slow mo, and D750 for photography and swallow DoF video..

    A7Sii to be...

    http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr2-sony-a7sii-will-give-up-the-classic-a7-form-and-become-mroe-like-a-canon-cx10/
  14. You don't get it ajay AF is good in video, he used canon glass. You want good AF then take a lens made for the camera.
  15. Hi, Here is my last travel video. Shot on Phantom 3 Pro, D5500 and GoPro 4. Great travel if you can go there ;).

    A7Sii to be...

Andrew, And what if it is true? what if Sony gives you a a7rii like cinema 5d and you think wow it's fantastic and more than a7s, wouldn't you say it? I mean, we can split on those guys cause they got the camera early and give us a test, and split on them cause they say the camera is fantastic. It might just be that....
  17. I think to differentiate A7S2 they will put easy things like slog3 or 10bit. but clean FHD at 480 fps impossible even clean 120fps is gonna be hard... Internal 4k at 60fps ? With heating issues in 30fps already ? I doubt a lot.
  18. Is it me or a7rii kills a7s in video? better DR (test was done and 1stop better) internal 4k FF 4k super clean S35 with same if not better than a7s low light. Crazy no? not to mention stills. so yes a7sii will have FF 4k internal full readout and probably better slowmo but then the stills will be no where near as good as A7rii so it seems if you also care about stills like me the a7rii is the way to go. and if you want slowmo then get on top of a7rii a Rx100iv.. Because a7sii will for sure not be better in slow mo (maybe as good but I doubt they do full readout 120fps) so...
  19. Wishes for the review: - A7R II vs A7S vs 1DC vs NX1.. with 4KFF VS 4K APSC cause apparently 4K FF is better (no RS and the moire isnt a pbm) from the first reviews - Also interesting to have a A7R II vs RX10II in 4K and 60fps and 120fps to see how they can match and compare in sharpness, - Both of the above in your scene test but also in real word outside.
