Now the BIG QUESTION is does this camera has the same video quality (except from XAVC & slog2) as D610 and A7, or does it have the sensor and video quality of D750 ??? If it is D750 video quality, then we have the best world camera for me. Amazing still quality (24mpx full frame 14 stops DR) Amazing video quality (60fps, D750 video quality, SLO2...) 5 axis IBIS Mirrorless and compact Decent price ...

This is absolutely INSANE. This is my absolute dream camera. Put that with the new rumored Sony A9 (pro still machine, with upgraded A6000 AF, weather sealing, 50+ mpx) and you get the best cameras in the world for stills and video. I just hope such a camera will be 1500-3000 (thanks to low sensor size..) and not 25 000 USD ... Let's pray. Great time ahead of us, thanks to Sony, Panasonic and so on. Fuck you Canon. Just sold my 5DIII by the way...

Incredible !! 2500 usd only and as powerfull as the macpro with a 5K displays that costs 2500 on its own.... Then people say Apple is expensive.... http://www.marco.org/2014/10/16/retina-imac-vs-mac-pro

The new GoPro is out. As planned: 4K 30fps 2.7K 50fps (great for fast action with good quality) 1080p 120fps (great for slowmo) Interesting stuff: Protune in video but also now in photo Edit : max iso only .. FULL MANUAL control in video (ISO, Aperture...) Surprising: Black edition get the new features but the silver (no 4K 30fps ...) gets a touchscreen ... The bad: 1150mha battery, it will be 30-45min in 4K / 2.7K 50fps ... Video:

Nikon D810 video quality leapfrogs Canon 5D Mark III
wolf33d replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Andrew I dont understand why you put the D750 under the D810 for video, considering D750 has flipy screen. Does the D810 have actually a cleaner image ? -

I am really impressed as well by all this videos. Time to sell the 5D3 for me. Wether it will be to get a D810 or to wait mirorless from Canon or next one of Sony (did you see the new global shutter with 12mpx FF sensor which is coming...) Let's see -

Samsung U28D590 review - Ultra HD 4K 28" monitor for $599
wolf33d replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
DO NOT buy this. It has been confirmed that the new iMac retina (5K screen !!!) is coming (end of 2014 ./ early 2015) If you have an iMac, just do not buy this TN screen. Just my 2 cents. -
Thanks guys. I did some test and indeed quality is perfect. Now I am back from Rome with all my footages, but when I convert them using the "C" key, the conversion stops after 5-10 files. Moreover, the ones converted do not play well in quicktime (big drop frames). If I test with one file only on my deskopt it works... I tried everything (restart computer, change hardrive, export to same hardrive or different one, change settings...). If someone has a solution I would be glad :)

A GH4 in your pocket - Panasonic LX100 with 4K and Micro Four Thirds sensor
wolf33d replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Yep Andrew, you better not cancel your iPhone 6 if you want the iWatch, as it needs an iPhone to work. And don't forget to mention that this LX100 is actually not really 4/3. The sensor is 4/3, but the lens covers it with a 1.5 crop, so it is between a 1" and a 4/3 in term of DoF and so on. -
Can't agree more with Ebrahim Saadawi. It is the sad truth ... This 7Dmk II is very cool for bird shooters. It is not made for us. Not for me. I want a camera as good in video as photo, with at least APSC sensor, 4K, 120fps, 5 axis stab, in a small package ... Will I see that one day ... ? 2 years asking. And a little bird tells me I am not the same wishing for such a camera. They just don't understand some people shoot photo AND video and want only 1 camera for that ? I am back from 3 days in Rome with my 5D3 and 16-35mm F4 L IS, what a pain in the ass the weight... I told at the end "I sell it right when I am back" But if I take a GH4, then I have 4/3 sensor.... Well ....

Can someone please explain me how it is possible to design a camera with lens attached, pocketable with 4/3 sensor and 24-75mm 1.7-2.8 lens ? I mean physically speaking. The panasonic 12-35mm (24-70mm 2.8) has less reach and smaller aperture, and it is really big. How can u make more reach, bigger aperture for the SAME sensor, but pocketable ? It sounds impossible .... looks more like a 1" sensor... Plus, let me know how can you make a pocketable GH4 + a 12-35mm for 3 times less the price at 850 euros... I guess we are dreaming ;)

The updated specs look mind blowing ! Higher Bitrate (similar to the GH4, also for the 1080p too) 4K + the usual FullHD, HD recording mode Slow motion mode at 240fps and 120fps New codec (Panasonic patent, AVC-I-U) Framerate control (24p,25p,30p,50p,60p, including the slow motion one) Updated ColourCreator FullHD 4:2:2 in MJPEG mode too Uncompressed HDMI with 4K support More manual control during recording mode Better mic control UHS-2 support (improvement of the UHS support) Improvement of the Wifi control (including a live control) A lot of picture improvement and art filter update (composite, etc…) I had one ... I buy one again if this turns out to be true !!

Wait the LX100, a GH4 3 times smaller with an included 1.7-2.8 standard lens for 850 dollars. Crazy..

Lol indeed it's interesting cause I did not like the i5 but love the i6 design. Anyway, it's not a typo, because they write it does h.265 And h.265. The typo is mine actually because I guess it does only h.265 for factime (and therfore the front camera) in 3G/4G, and h.264 in wifi. That's what they say. But I taught if the tech of h.265 is for facetime why not then for the back camera... Apparently you just said why.

No I think it was not sarcastic. I think the same, what they have put in this watch is incredible, and the possibilities endless. I remember the people when first iPhone lauch "it's horrible, it's shit, touchscreen cannot replace keyboard, it's a bid" yeah a real bid. The best was the iPad launch "Apple failed this time, it's just a big ipod touch what a joke, they won't sell any" yeah sure. Same for the iWatch now. I tell you see you in two years, where everything you control (phone, camera, house, health , notifications, ..) is from it. Huge potential, and really beautiful ... Well done.

What did I say with hyperlapse :). Already coming !
-
Well, you might open your eyes before commenting ;) "There will be a big marketing push to show the video recording capabilities of the new D750 (this already started with the D810) - I've heard also about 4k video recording, but I am not sure" araucaria: yep probably it will be in DX mode. And sorry, but looking at the very decent 1080p quality of the D5300, if Nikon can give us the same in 1080p in full frame it would be cool, plus a 4K mode moire free. What I like is the XQD card, if it is the case it means they need fast data so why not a really high bitrate, or high fps mode ... Let's see :)
-
Yes !! Good news for us, Nikon is moving into the movie world. After pushing video marketing with the D810, they finally released a camera video oriented. Possibly 4K ... ! Tilting LCD Full Frame 2500 USD If all of this is true, it can be the perfect camera for someone like me using a 5DIII who wants one camera for both video and FF stills. Advantage over the 5DIII would be: way better sensor for stills (DR), and 4K. http://nikonrumors.com/2014/09/06/what-to-expect-from-nikon-for-photokina.aspx/#more-79972 This is good as it will force Canon to put 4K in the 5D4K ;).

Sony to officially reveal 4K XDCAM 'FS700-successor' on 12th September
wolf33d replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Andrew, 180fps in 4K you think ? Does this mean that we will have 480fps in 2k (as we had 240fps on the Mk1)? That would be awesome ... -
Hi, I try to find the best workflow for my 5DIII using Raw MLV. For the moment I convert MLV in DNG, then open the DNG in Lightroom, grade it, save metadata (instead of doing a looong export) and open it in After Effects, export Prores, open with Premiere and edit and export. It is too long, even if as a photographer I like to grade with Lightroom. Also it's complicated to grade everything at start and not at the end. I saw the Premiere - Resolve workflow, but Resolve does'nt work fast with my MBPr 13". Also it is as long, even longer maybe than my usual workflow. So I did some research and found this amazing workflow : http://www.cineticstudios.com/blog/2014/08/the-easy-way-to-use-magic-lantern-raw-straight-to-prores.html Basically, you just use MLRawViewer to convert directly the MLV to Prores 444 (and you can directly apply a LUT such as a flat profile, and change white balance and exposure before converting). Then you open the Prores files in Premiere and you edit in Premiere and do color grading and done. My question is who tried this ? Is it as good to use the Prores 444 with flat profile, to grade with film convert on Premiere Pro ? I am afraid to loose benefits of RAW, but I think as you do the white balance and the exposure, and apply a flat profile before the conversion from MLV to Prores, it's just fine as Filmconver just ads some contrast, color and grain anyway. What do you think ? It would save so much space and time !!

RX100 M3 as well I think EyeSoul : the RX10 is new, wait a year ;)

Come on ... You are comparing soft and hardware. But let's do it : most of the lite versions are FREE, give me a F55 with no 4K for free I will take it... (Look at Davinci Lite for free..) Plus, even if a lite version is not free it will be most of the time very cheap. Here we talk about 12 000 $ difference man. Anyway you just lack of common sense and honesty. As Sony and others do. You know what is the shame in the sorry ? It is us. Because at the end we are the one buying this and agreeing. I don't see why they should not charge 12 000 more for 4K with one line of code. They could charge 100 000 000 more if you still buy it. The only way we can stop that one day is stop buying products like this, or from the companies who do that the most, then other companies will get the message and definitely stop this practice. So my friends, stop buying Sony. F**k them. That's it...
