Also worth mentioning, the new MBP are really fast. The high end model as better single core CPU performance than the best IMAC PRO. 
The overall performance jump both in CPU and GPU vs 2017 models is enormous. 

The new DDR4 memory is very fast. And the faster SSD are out of this world. 
In fact PC manufacturer should feel ashamed, as seen in the attached picture.

I am getting the 7III soon. Shot with A7RII 2 years ago, cant remember what I used.

I plan to set the Custom 1 dial to 4K30p with specific PP and settings, Custom 2 for HD120p with specific settings again, and using the regular priority aperture mode for photos. Therefore I would never be using the proper video mode. Few questions:
- Is there an inconvenient with that? 
- I assume the Custom 1 and 2 on the dials are considered photo mode. Any disadvantage shooting videos in photo mode? (like different AF performance, ...) Am I loosing anything not using the regular video mode?

If above is not good what do you recommend? 
For PP, AF settings and so on I am all set.

dji mavic 2 and Mavic Pro 2
the one in the image is a Mavic 2 With its silver bands. It has the bigger sensor Mavic Pro 2 caméra attached to it. 
On the gimbal on the side there is the smaller Mavic 2 camera. They will be interchangeable. 
Mavic 2 same price a pro 1 and Mavic Pro 2 1300

Looks like 2x is the norm, but seems like it can do more?? I doubt anything past 2x might be iffy though?? I know on my A7s 2x looks nearly perfect, crazy good actually.

To set up clear zoom, (hoping the menu is similar to the old A7s),    Find the "zoom setting" tab,  choices are optical zoom only, clearimage zoom and digital zoom.
I set it to clearimage zoom.      From there in the "custom key settings" tab, I set the down button to zoom. (and left/right buttons to use the zoom).
That way, with whatever lens I am using zoom or prime, AF or MF, I can use it variably.
Clear zoom goes to 2x but if you do set it to digital zoom you get the same sort of thing and  it goes to 4x but over 2x it does start getting noticeable.
It isn't perfect but if you start with a very good lens, it can actually still be better than a lesser lens used optically.
Doesn't work for RAW but works for Jpeg and video.
Some people are using it effectively with remotes (something I am really want to try some time soon).

Fair enough, 1080 60p isn't a deal breaker for everyone though, so I thought I'd at least float the idea as worth re-considering.

Both on my nikon D810 and now A7Riii I have a 28/1.8 as my main lens which I rarely remove. My eyes now see in 28 which makes me be ahead of the image. 

If you were doing a roadtrip somewhere with a Sony A7III planning to shoot of video of nature, people ... only one lens with you for a light kit, what would it be? 

For me: 28mm F2 because: 
- Zoom lens do not work. One would say a 24-70, but a f2.8 would be too heavy and a F4 not good for low light and DoF
- 35mm is not wide enough for nature stuff and gimbal use
- 24mm is too wide for people/portrait
- The iPhone has a 28mm lens. When you think about it, you cover everything with it from landscapes to portraits. 
- On the Sony, you can use crop mode and transform it into a 45mm, very convenient

Quite some hope actually. 
You know, the FS5 is not in the same market as the A7. It has millions things (pro camera features) that the A7 does not have and it has very advanced external recording capabilities. Therefore it is totally possible that Sony will release a A7S with 4K60P even if FS5 does not have it because it has many other things that the former does not have. It would not be the first time something like this happens. 
And look at the A9. 4500$ and a few months after you get a A7III which has better IQ (dynamic range) and 95% of A9 functions for 2500$ less. What was the hope of that? 
Well the A9 has 1-2 pro features (burst shooting..) on top of A7III. 
So here you go my friend. Quite some hope.

Not so much. For me, the C200 weight and size make it a no go even at 1000$ for what I do. If BM 4K had C200 AF I would get it over any day.

How many manual focus stills camera sell this day VS AF stills camera? When you consider manual focusing in video is more difficult than in photo, it's not hard to see why manual focusing cameras are dead. Expect 90% of the people who said "no" to this poll to use AF in all their video in 2 years from now.

I think this post is silly.
It's the equivalent of saying that if you want a smartphone that's silly because you could have all the functionality by just buying all of these things:

The reason that we wouldn't buy all those other things and prefer a smartphone is that all those other things are way too large to carry around and be practical, plus they're really expensive......   just like cinema cameras are way too large to carry around in many situations, and are really expensive.
I get that this might be good advice for you, maybe because your priorities are equally fulfilled by either option, but that's not true for many other people.
I voted Yes because if Canon made such a camera I would buy it.  However, if the Pocket 2 doesn't have good autofocus then that would be why I'm not buying it.

I agree with that statement, but I am a Old Turd. I think young people Have grown up with good, to great AF and they are going to demand it like it or not. I think even Arri, Red is going to have to come up with DPAF or better down the road or their in trouble. You are allowed to turn it off LoL.
Heck it is all just Electronics to make AF happen. Nothing mechanical body wise. Sure a new Sensor, but they come up with new ones every 6 months lately anyhow. There is no real reason not to make a 65mm Panavision camera have killer AF.

2- I agree with @newfoundmass. I think the issue is technology at this point. Just lookt at the FS5 II and yet it has a smaller sensor. But I am sure it will at least have 4K60p otherwise there is not point as it would be an A7III in worst (less mpx). 
3- All things considered, it is safe to assume that the A7S III will be an A7 III with lower res sensor and 4K60P internal. The question remains on the bonuses: 10bit, mpx count, ...
4- @zerocool22 Why? There is no FF camera on the market with 4K60p and a good AF today except the 1DX which cost 2 arms, weight a truck and has poor codecs. The new Black Magic will give you the absolute best image under 4000$ for sure with 4K60p RAW. But at what cost? At the cost of small sensor size (acceptable) and no AF which for me is in the absolute must have feature list for any new video camera. After trying the A7R III on a gimbal I cannot imagine using anymore piece of shit AF like GH5 and so on as a main camera. 
Still I ordered the BM day one because as I said the image will be superb but for me it cannot be my main camera.

I have known that from the day I started photography.
BUT as you say, 1.2 and 1.4 on FF cannot be replicated on M43 and i do not agree there is a big difference between a FF 1.4 and 2.0. 
Also I don’t agree with DR in stills. Giant leap between M43 and FF, and yes I have owned a GH4, GH5 and Olympus as well as FF DSLRs and A7RII. Massive real world difference. In fact as you say super 35 is not bad. A Nikon D7200 for exemple boasts a very good usable DR better even that some FF like Canon shit. But M43, not at all.
For video DR is less impacted. In fact FF is not crazy important for me in video especially because having a 1.4 look in video is pretty hard to manage. 
I returned the GH5 not because of M43, but because of that god damn shitty AF. GH5 with great AF is all I need for video and I guess it’s gonna be a A7S3
i would not mind paying less for body and lens and loose FF. Again, for video only.

the case of Brandon is more a proof that AF is amazing for video, than the contrary.

Amazing debate guys on wether or not BM make people pay for resolve and about camera bodies... Seriously.. 

This codec is a game changer. I hope Blackmagic will update the Pocket with it. 
I feel sorry for the Apple haters that use PC. I have used Premiere for a couple of projects and feel your pain!

This thing is magnificent but that AF......  Same camera with Canon DPAF I would pay double the price easily. 
I love the screen, the recording formats... image will be gorgeous. No IBIS means Gimbal and Gimbal means continuous AF. Never right...
